I played D4 season 1-3 and took a break. Seems like there is enough updates here to come back, personally. As long as they keep improving the end game. $40 to me is not super expensive, given what I spend money on these days.
Should be $30 for one character and improving the game to where it should have been by season 3. I stopped after season 2 - I'll just join in and try my sorc build again since it was in a bad place before.
I played every season so far and I would say, even without the expansion, coming back for season 6 from season 3 you will have enough content, and can decide on whether or not to get the expansion later if you aren't sold on the spiritborn/campaign just yet
I'm still to see a single gaming ingluencer not fetched by Blizzard's main weapon, it's marketing department. I really hope they would spend 50% of that money on the game itself
Holy crap! Having not played in over a year, I must say that all the new mechanics and content is a bit daunting. I'm looking forward to diving in to all the new stuff with my Druid. Thanks for the summary, Fex.
I like most of the changes. S5 was definitely the best season but there wasn't much challenging content past high pits and T8 hoards. Especially in a group. My only gripe is the paragon limits but I guess it's not that big of a deal tbh
You have convinced me to go back to D4 ! Although I shudder at the thought of all the changes to gear they made. Seems like playing old charaters (from season 1 and older) seems too much of a hassle....
Got the game at launch and enjoyed the campaign but the itemization wasn't interesting enough to keep me playing long after that. Looking forward to giving it another go after all the changes when the expansion drops.
Great video. The narration, the editing, relevant video captures about the theme or segment explain... This channel/RU-vidr deserves more exposures and subs.
I can’t wait to play as the new class at level 1 from the start as I never beat vanilla version as the starting classes just didn’t jell with me. I went with my normal sorcerer build but I didn’t like any other class besides that. But this new class looks like the dope monk from Diablo 3 and the Sorcerer mixed.
It actually sounds a bit of a jack-of-all-trades frankly. It has basically a mix of abilities/playstyles for all classes so you can kinda go your own way. I generally prefer versatile characters in most rpg's so I'm fairly amp'd for the new class.
I like to feel powerful on games and have a sense of progression. I played around 35h of Diablo 4 last year but I fell off once I completed the skill tree for my class as it got repetitive after that (I didn’t really have the carrot on the stick anymore). Sure, it’s great to find new and cool loot to improve your build but what’s the point when difficulty is ALWAYS scaled to your level? Appreciate if someone could make an argument about it as I’d like to jump back to Diablo once again!
Diablo progression isn’t about your skill tree, it’s about finding unique items and affixes and aspects that change how skills work, add new mechanics, and making it all work together. Difficulty doesn’t adjust to your character, you can pick it.
I was eager to try and go back to D4 after watching your video, but man those 140gb are just screaming for another ssd. btw thanks for your content this was really useful
So it sounds like I’m glad I waited for this game to get updates before jumping in. I would have been pissed grinding to lvl 100 just for it to be reversed to 60. Changes sound positive in general .
Waited for this to go on sale to get it. Literally im a year behind but this helps some. Thanks for the intel. I aint even beat the main game yet. Can i start on just regular or whatever ? Once the season resets ?
did they remove enemies level scaling? that was the sole reason for me quitting this game. I don't like feeling like I'm never getting stronger bcuz the enemies are getting stronger too. especially when i go to first area in the game and still have to fight for my life to travel around.
quick question, besides the season pass and seasonal small quest what i will be missin if i choose to grind new expansion & the spiritborne class in eternal , im guessin realmwalker event, tributes and seething obols?
The tributes should drop from Nightmare dungeons (I am pretty sure I got some that way) and from bosses, so they should be available in the spirit realm. The season is kinda lame, you kill this big hulking thing and go into a realm and kill lame enemies and get a chest. But ofc so many people are on the Seasonal that it sorta makes sense just to get all the extra rewards
@@Fextralife thx for the quick reply, appreciated. Yeah i wasnt hooked on seasonal theme, instead i ll go grind in Eternal with the disadvantage not finding that easy ppl to run the raid with and the benefits of every single material capped, 99.9 billions cap gold, 750k obducite for masterworkin and 544 sparks for ubers craft spammin
Sorry I tried to simplify and summarize as much as I could but there’s a lot! Don’t worry tho, it’s not that bad when you are playing systems are quite easy to follow and game gives you tutorials
I have no shame or willpower. I love D4 and have over 1500 hours. I've liked or loved every season. I just bought the ultimate edition VOH bundle and can't wait to sniff around for mommy Lilith's leftovers.
Just made my first and last Diablo 4 $80 purchase for a game I already own. Please don’t make the players have to pay $80 every time you rework the game. Also don’t lock wing cosmetics behind $80 purchases. How money hungry can you get my god. $20 each for character skins by the way
So what about characters that already use paragon boards, do they not have access to them until they go back to max levels which is now 60? Or does it let you use them at 50 like before
All eternal players have to start from scratch as the upodate will destroy every piece of gear you currently have. All you have is what you wear and your skillpoints and few paragons. This includes 4 GA Mythics if you were lucky enough to get them, they're just trash once the update goes live. Blizzard do not respect eternal players.
I have a review that goes over the expansion and a build for the new class that published an hour ago, you can check the gameplay and see if you think it’s what you want
I thought the 1-100 part of game and paragon was in a good state for s4 and 5. If its not broke y fix but its blizz we are talking about. Good vid tho.
Spiritborn is such a lame and contrived class. It's like something a child would come up with. Their underwear armor also looks stupid as hell. Easily the most boring postlaunch class design in Diablo history.
Considering they are forcing existing players to start over, the expansion should be free. Anyone supporting blizzard in this is clearly a mindless monkey.
So you don’t get 2 skill points unless you buy?! Honestly that’s pay to win Chance to upgrade glyphs is insanely frustrating Great we get to spend our time slaving the pits
@@Kushu122 Not even close to max level, there are already build guides out where you can make the new class do 20 quantillion damage. Levels do not mean anything when it comes to damage. All you see in the video is levels 80-120 (paragon) when 300 is the max. And gear matters, levels do not.
Wow I'm so glad they keep making all existing gear completely useless every season. Dropping all my mythic gear I've farmed to 540 item power feels so bad
I quit shortly after launch after I finished the campaign, as a big D3 fan (shutup), I hated almost everything about D4. It sounds like it's in a much better place now, I just pre-ordered VoH. So my main takeaway from this video is...don't bother playing until VoH drops since I would just be relearning the game right before a bunch of fundamental changes happen that I would have to learn again. LOL
@@augustomesavila Lemme guess, you're one of those 40 year old neckbeards that cried for over a decade that D3 wasn't D2 reskinned. Probably also cried when D4 wasn't D2 reskinned.
@@vfvs11a Ownnn bro's fighting for a generic colorful game where a butterfly killed Deckard? How about that Unicorn and Rainbows level? 🤣🤣🤣 Every real fan of Diablo thinks D3 is shit... no surprise that Blizz is trying to bring the D2 atmosphere back in D4... BTW IM 31, nice try random name user 👍
Nothing wrong with bringing in changes in hope that the title can stay relevant But i will not spend $1 on any title after the $70 tag paid to get that game
That's how seasons have always worked on almost any game. You can still play your originally leveled characters. They just won't be doing the seasonal activities.
So basically for someone like me that played this game from beginning and then left because there was nothing more to do, now if I come back, all my characters are effed, all the item I worked so hard for are effed, every thing I liked about the game has been completely changed and they want me to be happy and pay more? This is total bs.
Not exactly. I have characters on eternal realm too. What happens is your gear gets lowered to basic tier, aka no longer max. But it’s still max rolled and masterworkedk I’d you did that. So you should be able to perform similarly to where you left off. However the top tier of the game has elevated and now you need the newer higher level gear to roll through it. This is normal for these kind of games and not a crazy change. Am I annoyed to re farm something? Sure. But I also get to do it in a different way and get new things.
I would rather they just delete the eternal characters entirely keep everything already unlocked unlock and convert all the gear into materials and gold. I don’t want to see my previously godly characters turn into useless shits, all paragon points lost all glyphs back to level one all gears useless.
@@Fextralife I'm old enough to remember when this kind of stuff was NOT normal. When a game got an expansion, it added news things without taking away things. This is one reason I'm getting to the point I don't trust these game companies anymore. It's not fair to the players who spend hours and hours playing and keeping the numbers up and getting new players to join by telling their friends what a great game this is. I really enjoyed Diablo 4 in the beginning. But these kinds of changes, and expecting players to pay for it are for me a big turn off.
@@stepheneddington1667this is how it’s worked for Diablo. Every season you start a new character. It’s just now everything is being overhauled. It’s not like a game like say Destiny, where you make your 1 character (or 3) and keep them forever. You CAN do that, but you’ll miss out on all the seasonal stuff. However, let’s say you only play as a rogue, and you have your main rogue on the eternal realm, right? Then the season starts, you can start a new rogue for the season, level it, earn all the fun stuff. Then when the season ends that seasonal rogue gets sent over to the eternal realm. You get to keep everything you earned in that season, and if you want, transfer everything that seasonal rogue earned over to your first main one. This is how Diablo has stayed “fresh” for lack of a better word, because every season something changes, and just continuing to play your already maxed character, you won’t feel those changes quite the same.
The game isn’t taking away anything, they moved the power bar up and you were never that high to start with, so you have to work up. Just for the record this kind of progression is on path of exile and nobody complaints and comes here to complain about Diablo doing the same thing. It’s weird.
Affix is pronounced with a soft A, not a hard A. I'm sorry about being a grammar nazi but I relented when you said it that way like five times in two sentences and I wanted to die.
well considering how pathetic it is and how even worse it was at the beginning when it released, it should have.. But theres always "content creators" that are gonna play anything and have their little followers... well.. follow them haha. so garbage like this survives instead of letting it fall apart and make em do a proper game.
The way the glyphs work now is so garbage... There was no reason to change that.. Pits r just as boring as NMd atleast in NMd i could just mindlessly run them get everything to 21 ans be done with it... Lvl 100 glyphs??? Like y blizzard there is just so many dumb changes... S5 was amazing s6 seems like ita gonna kinda suck cause its gonna be so different. Im still hyped but i dont like alot of the changes. They should have just added or improved s5.
Looks incredibly boring overall. I'll play it just for the campaign, I even hate myself for that, but I'm sure that I will end up quitting again after that.
Compiling things that were promised on day 1 into a 100$ expansion is greasy and for that reason i wont play d4 ever again. POE 2 is comnig anyways that will be F2P. Get bent blizz.
