Mages, Warriors, and the Golem all have variable pauses between attacks, that I call "Derp time". Increasing attack speed does proportionally decrease the frames per attack animation, but it does NOT proportionally decrease the Derp time. The end result is that increasing attack speed by 2x does NOT result in 2x attacks per second. In this video, the first half represents attacks at 1.0 APS, and the second half represents attacks at 2.04 APS. We do not see 2x the attacks per second, but the frames per attack animation are halved.
