Thank you for sticking by your principles. You probably could've made most of this review and walked away with BlizzBucks. Your audience trusts your opinion and you could've easily cashed in on that without us questioning it. You could've gotten a review out early and potentially brought a lot of new eyes to the channel. You didn't compromise and that deserves a ton of respect. But you can't eat respect, so you deserve cash too.

You really deserve more... Rejecting an sponsorship for staying true to your concepts its really exceptional! In many videos i've seen of your channel you try to stay objective and 100% which makes the difference (And makes me recomend you) Mortismal you should consider opening a Panthreon, make a way to receive contributions to improve the channel and allow you to keep being objetive (Sorry if there is any grammar mistake, not a native english speaker)

Solid review! Props for sticking to your guns on the sponsorship offer. Your opinions and insights are most welcome, especially in regards to microtransactions. I had the same thoughts about the pay-to-gain outfits being markedly worse than the base game offerings. I wonder if the developers are just as annoyed about having to put them in there as we are.

This is the only review I needed. You are the absolute best at this. You prove that you've taken the time to FULLY understand a game's various mechanics, story, etc, and that's very useful as a consumer. I even watch your reviews when I have no intention of playing a certain game. Keep it up. You're becoming GOATed

At first I misread this as a 100% review and I was terrified for the machine you’d become, somehow managing to 100% a project like this that even The Completionist wouldn’t be able to manage :’) I at least know that your review will still be very comprehensive and with a high quality!

For me, macrotransactions in a $70 game are unacceptable, even if they're just cosmetics. Additionally, these battle passes borrowed straight from free-to-play games solely to extract more money from buyers, regardless of how good the game is. It doesn't matter that they're optional; they're present, and you can't obtain them unless you pay. I miss the old days when items like these were rewards for challenging achievements or hidden, waiting to be discovered.

If you are having an issue seeing your character there is an option to enable a highlighted outline on your toon, can even pick the color.

I'm still holding back on buying D4

The only issue I have had in this game is more to do with the cool downs on character skills. Big mobs rush you and you use your skill that lasts like 6-8 seconds and than it has a cooldown for like 15-20 seconds, it really slows down combat to have such long cool downs and can at times make your character feel like a wet blanket while they wait for their skill to cooldown otherwise the game is quite fun :P

Great review,I just finished the campaign,enjoying the game alot but I am tired of people telling me I should follow a build guide(all poe players mostly)I want to play the game how I want to and you agree,that's one of the reasons I like this review. So keep up the good work.

Great review with highly detailed information on the game mechanics. Thank you and much appreciated. Am playing a Necromancer though i was tempted to also play a Druid since i love the creepy elemental spells. Fortunately the Necromancer has some similar vine tearing enemies apart spells as well. Too bad we cannot effect the size, shape of our characters bodies during the creation process. That is one chunky barbarian. Love the voice acting and music which really brings it home. One thing i find distracting but not a big deal is seeing other players running around in my game like in DESTINY where interaction can be turned off but they are still visible. Gets a bit immersion breaking when seeing some of the hokey player names as they run around. Happy gaming and thanks again ☕

Absolutely love your videos! If you didn't know there is an accessibility feature that makes your character glow so they don't get lost in everything on the screen.

I love this game. It takes what I love from 2 and 3 and improves. Started in early accesss and just got the first three areas renown to 2,000. At the start of act 4 with the barbarian. Level 47.

Great review! Glad it ended up being a good game. I think Ill hold off until the battlepass releases and we can see what long term monetization is going to look like, and then maybe further until it goes on sale. I cant spend this much money on a single game if it then demands even more to be spend, if it is to be an enjoyable experience.

As per, well, always, exceptional video- especially for such a small channel. Easily among the best like MandaloreGaming and SsethTzeentach regardless of complete varying styles- you are a channel that is desperately needed for the genres you cover (of course referring to the majority of your content that is less mainstream than Diablo 4...)

A fix for the glitch where you can’t interact or skip cutscenes, if your on pc. Hit ctrl+esc then just click the game on the taskbar again. Fixes it every-time for me and a lot faster and easier than completely logging out and back in again.

I have played all 4 Diablo games and this is my favourite diablo game, and possibly my favourite game of all time. I can’t put it down. Exited for whats to come still

Getting disconnected when you killing bosses was horrible experience In D3.

Welp, this reviiew pretty much answered all the questions I had about the game. That last point about them possibly ruining everything with p2w is really deterring. Do want, but going to wait and see. Maybe like in a year's time or so, they've shown their colors and possibly discounted the game to something reasonable. Thanks Mort.

I'm having fun with it. Do not regret spending $70. One thing that really has struck me is how much I'm enjoying playing a Barbarian! I usually play casters or ranger-types in top down ARPGs. To me, the Rogue feels a little too slow, though. I don't like the cooldown on the dodge/roll. But the Barb feels FAST (for a Barb). It reminds me of my favorite melee build in one of these games ever: A Shaman/Soldier 2H specialist in Grim Dawn. Level scaling is something I'm worried about, though. I want the power fantasy. It's one thing these games are all about, IMO. I want to be able to grind a little to get overleveled. I like being able to control my "difficulty setting" by grinding or not grinding. That's another thing Grim Dawn did right: Bounded level scaling...Not just 1:1 100% of the time. MTX and how they do the expansion(s) is another thing I'm worried about. I don't want to be nickel and dimed. I want to buy one big expansion like I did for D2 and D3. I hate how the Necro in D3 is its own $20 purchase. We know we've got 2 expansions coming (Blizz said so) and we know they need to drop in at least one of the holy boys (Paladin, Monk, Crusader)...as their absence from the game right now is glaring. I'm glad (for your sanity) you don't consider the whole 100% thing with a game like this. It's OK, man. You are a machine and you don't have to 100% anything for me to pay attention to your reviews. It's icing.

So far I've got a sorc to 30ish, a druid to 10 or so, and a Rogue to 15. I intended to play through with sorc first but man Rogue actually feels really fun too. I might just switch back and forth on all three at least until the story is done. I've had a lot of fun so far though, it feels like a huge game. I do want a press alt - show all interactables button, but oh well not a huge deal

You bring up exactly the reasons I'm hesitant to buy it, despite loving Diablo and having played both the first and 2nd so many hours... I got the 3rd and decided I'm out of blizzard. Now the 4th looks so good, gameplay and everything, but at the same time I worry they will ruin it soon.

Only ever played Diablo 3 on Switch, and am currently enjoying D4 on Steam Deck, it is really fun to just run around with a friend and tear up some dungeons. Like you I just hope Blizzard doesn't ruin it somehow.

This is the most rational and well balanced review of D4 out there.

Mrs & I are having a blast duoing a Rogur/Sorc combo as casual scrubs. Actually enjoying the level scaling which seems to be favouring us, where a lot of other players are complaining about it, go figure. Love the fact that we can go anywhere on the map and not get steamrolled, so the fact that we can't go to a 'low-level' area and steamroll mobs ourselves is a small price to pay I would say. Mortismal, Great vid. Totally agree with You bout greed and microtansactions model - full priced game. I also can see always online - forcing players to be online just to see example of people who brought micros. I come back to arpgs that are offline bc of content/story. Thank You for being honest about everything and especially how they approach You with 'selecitve censorship/limitations' to put game in certain light. Respectable

Great review. I think the tree of whispers content is available on t2 after the campaign you do not need t3 to start with that.

Given the nature of this game, we'll let you off for not 100%ing the game to set you apart from other reviewers on the platform. Seriously though, really enjoyed the video. Solid commentary as always! My two main criticisms so far are the ultra texture pack devours vram even on higher end cards and sometimes the lower texture settings seem like the don't always fully load some textures. Also, the some spell effects can completely obscure what's going on like the necro's corpse explosion fart cloud. They could do with making them a bit less opaque in order to see better.

Very nice thoughtful review! I was struck by how you generally had a positive reaction to everything actually in the game, I’ve been playing it casually (as parenthood and adulthood allows) since prerelease and just beat the level 50 capstone dungeon and my reaction has largely been positive too (personal gripes about necro minions getting shredded like tissue paper aside). Your final comment about how if Blizzard added any pay to win mechanics then you would no longer recommend the game struck a chord with me, and it took a little time to articulate why. I actually don’t think a “pay to win” mechanic would bother me; I’m in my mid 30s, and while gaming is still my major hobby life has decreed I only play a couple of hours a day at most, and frequently less than that. I’m not going to compete on a seasonal leaderboard or in PVP, so if other people pay for advantages then in my mind they’re paying for future content that I get to casually enjoy for free. That said, if any QoL features are paywalled (my first thoughts were for more inventory space, a faster Mount or some kind of auto loot/sell/salvage) I’d be pretty annoyed as I would feel like I was being put in a worse off situation due to corporate greed.
