DIABLO CUT CONTENT: The Butchers Secret Lair Finally Explored

Back then when I first played Diablo I took the cleaver and dropped in front of the drunk so he knew he was finally dead. I know it was just a game but I felt like it was cool to do that.

When Cain tells a story and that background music kicks in. Just chills. D1 still has the best athmosphere of all the Diablo games.

....Man Farnham needs a hug ;( Also whomever voiced Farnham did a phenomenal Job.

i just love how every town member has something to say about every quest.

I still to this day remember playing this game co op with my dad as a kid, and whenever id play alone id avoid the butchers chamber. The eerie feeling id feel seeing all those bodies always bothered me lol

And then in diablo 2 a random adventurer tore off his leg again in order to fight cows.

In 1 of Cain's gossip lines, he still tells that wirt was ripped from his mothers arms and dragged away, with many other children - foreshadowing king leoric's sons death

I like the puzzle solving aspect being added in many of these cut content quests, makes it seem more like a traditional rpg

This is pretty awesome! I'm currently playing Diablo 1 again. So many fond memories of fighting the demons of hell. The butcher scared the shit out of me when this first came out.

Please keep on doing the lores and contents of D1 and D2. Not many do videos of them the way you do.

The first part where Farnham cries over the Butcher, It sounds hilarious in Swedish. I got Diablo 1 on PS1 in Swedish dub and the whole game is so fun and hilarious how they translated everything. Like weapons "Morning Star" "Morgon Stjärna", "Butcher" or as I know him more as "Slaktaren". Got so many good memories with Diablo 1 xD

Oh my goodness! Now I know when the videos were meant to be played. I found them in the game files before and wondered if I missed something all those years ago. Fun fact: I can memorise what the unnamed wounded townsman says. Testament to how much I played, I suppose. :)

Another fantastic video! I always felt “wussified” for killing the Butcher behind a grate, so I would only go toe-to-toe with him in subsequent playthrus.

I remember when Diablo 2 came out.. Thinking how sad it was to find out what happened to the few people who where still alive in Tristram. ( You know.. The events between Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 that is.. )

this is a mod, Belzebub . diablo 1 hd mod. has these missing quests as they exist in the data files.

As to why/how Wirt ended up in the Labyrinth, it wasn't of his own volition, he was literally grabbed from his home before his mother's eyes and dragged there. There are bits of the story that pop up in conversations with the other townsfolk, particularly Griswold, Pepin, and Gillian, I think.

I really wish you showed the entire exploration of the level and the fight. I realize thats not typical for a youtube video but as an avid player of the Diablo series I would have loved to watch the whole thing (from portal to the death of the butcher). I have never seen it before and probably will never get to play it so I think that wouldve been a cool video. I'm sure other fans would agree.

I remember playing Diablo 1 when I was 10 years old...when I first saw The Butcher and heard "Mmm Fresh Meat!" And saw the bodies I had nightmares for a week!

You know, I’m not sure which version I like better. I do like the expanded puzzle, but there’s something special about opening that door and him just rushing you for the first time.

Definitely should'vew been in the final game. I remember meeting the Butcher for the first time and it was a moment like none I had experienced before. with this added quest, could be more fleshed out and more interesting. Then again, the fact that it was so mysterious is one of the things that worked for the Butcher I think. That video sequence should've definitely have been kept in. Maybe some lines of dialogue as the Butcher mutilates and butchers someone in front of us. Would be cool if they added Diablo 1 to the remaster.

Poor Farnham. He saw many of his friends cut down by the Butcher, and now he's a shell of his former self trying to drink away the pain. Even worse if you know what happens to his daughter.

i stayed... intrigued by the whole thing. Srsly, had no idea this was supposed to be in the game.

Unfortunately, these cut content quests were deemed too hard for players to complete. Especially Map of the Stars, which is a death sentence if you're too late at killing Diablo's minions and himself before the stars align.

I remember after about 5 weeks of playing the og game on pc...my friends taught me how to use all the hacks and I made character have 'Andurial Flame of The West' 😆 and 'The One Ring' 😆 and of Course I was Aragorn😆😂😂😂 and I also had Glamdring!😆😂😂😂

It definetly should have been in the final game. It would explain why Farnham seems to know so much about the Demons and theyr Layer but also why he mutters so uncomprehansevly and why he is drunk. Driven to madness by what he has witnessed. It would also explaighn why some of the other folk stay there and where theyr injurys came from not to mention it gives far more backstory and meaning to all. And thinking about it that might also explain the discontent people who were not there that day have such a dislike to him. Think about it, to have saved and fought alongside Griswold who also saved Word that day he must have been a good fighter back than. It might even be possible he was once a towns guard or an ex adventurer given those qualifications the ones who were not there to see him only as a drunk who utters nonsence now while he should be going in himself and protect the town.....that would also make be dislike the guy. Possebly even blame the death of your loved ones and friends on him since he didn't do his job. It truly explaines why they dissmiss him so easily.

Thanks to Call of Duty, technically, Captain Price, Skeletor, Ash from Evil Dead and Inarius teamed up and killed the Butcher in the year of our lord 2023.

I think you should mention in these videos that, while the plot and voicelines are all "original cut content", the actual quest dungeons didn't really survive (or may not have even been made) and so what we see here as level design is the interpretation of the Beelzebub mod. There's also The Hell and The Hell 2, which also restore most of the old quests, but with very different levels and mechanics. I haven't experienced the Beelzebub versions, but last time I checked TH's version some time ago, lots of cool stuff, but some of the dungeon layouts and mechanics were... overtuned, to say the least. Maiden of Anguish level 2, for example, was just ridiculous.

Check Diablo IV it will be released on 27th anniversary of D1 which is a Biblical Reference of some kind...something to do with Book of Revelations and Prophecy of Apocalypse
