"No one can escape Fate." If each Archangel embodies their Virtue, then as Fate Itself, Itherael knows where the demons will be when his blade falls. And his body simply moves to where it needs to be to make it happen. His sword is not the tool of that which cannot be run from. He is.
Lol, animation costs a lot. They would probably do some live action shit where the angels and demons are just normal people but with glowing eyes, and only take their forms in like season finales. It would involve more talking and drama than action every episode. It's cheaper to make something bad and profit off the interest it brings, than something really good that costs so much even if more people are fans.
Auriel, archangel of long whips! Malthael, archangel of “this belongs to you” Itheriel, archangel of not walking anywhere because you’re too cool Tyrael, archangel of actually fighting things And Imperius, archangel of not listening to anyone because he’s an idiot
@Sincerely Respectfully He didn't side with Diablo nor had any interest. He only wanted the power within the stone that simply "contained" diablos powers. He got corrupted searching for more power in the lore that it turned him dark.
@Sincerely Respectfully mal used Diablo as a means to a end just like Diablo did with leoric and his son's I highly doubt Diablo had any choice in the matter till the nephilam forced Mal to absorb Diablo
Mephisto and Baal are the other two prime evils. Lilith is Mephisto's daughter and isn't a prime evil. She's not even one of the lesser evils that we see in D2 and D3
@@danielbloch6289 Believe it or not, Lilith does not hold a candle when compared to the Prime and Lesser Evils. They're supposed to be that strong and terrifying. At the same time, Inarius could only hope to achieve what these five Archangels did and what could do. Our parents are nothing in the hierarchy of their respective societies.
I love how their wings look in this style. They each have their own style of motion and the way they hold themselves is so telling of their personalities. I really love how they go from wildly flailing about to the 'feathers' being pulled together to form the wings fully.
"And in the end of days, wisdom shall be lost As justice falls upon the world of men. Valor shall turn to wrath And hope will be swallowed by despair. Death at last shall spread its wings over all As fate lies shattered forever."
I like how they just stood there when Imperius cut Diablo in half and the blood splattered all over them and they are just like "what the fuck Imperius".
Would you guys laugh if Tyrael bitch slapped Imperius and asked him "The fuck bro... we had him... and you killed him... the fuck?!" Then the fight starts.
I mean, at least she is relevant in Diablo 3, Ithareal literally only shows up for the sake of exposition and to say that because of you, he no longer can fulfill his job (Nefalen's Fate is not decided, but the momment you defea Diablo, all his future previsions turn false, as Diablo was supposed to win) at least Auriel makes Tyrael stop sulking and get back to helping you
Very devious dude, I know this was 2 years old, but I'm replying dammit lol. If a nation or people are not unified when they are at war, they will fall. So is he splits up the angels diablo will win the war. Simple as that.
55varian Well if Heaven goes, then Auriel and Ithereal will go bad when they are in favor of sanctuary's existence. And if Heaven goes bad, then Sanctuary is doomed. The Nephelem is powerful, but against the full might of Heaven and Hell in a crossfire, their doomed.
@@BloodlustLizzy And that's fair, Tyrael needed a little protection there at the beginning, understandably he'd just been through a lot. What's Imperius' excuse though?
I don't understand these people saying "You can't judge justice itself, that is a fact." And then they turn around and say Imperius, Archangel of *VALOR* is a coward. Come on, guys.
Expertly stated by someone else on youtube: Imperius never feared Diablo, he never feared his anger. Imperius is the Archangel of *Valor*, he has no self-doubt. In fact, he is very, very, very *zealous*. He is all for something or all against something. For Imperius, there is no middle-ground. You are either with him or you are not. That is why he acts so abrasively towards the Nephalem and even Tyrael. They are in the middle. To Imperius, humans and the Nephalem are just demonspawn and Tyrael, once a good friend of Imperius' is working alongside them. He hates demonspawn, obviously, because demons are the embodiment of -evil-. Imperius deals in absolutes, nothing more, nothing less. Don't understand all the hate he gets. Oh well, whatevs, Archangel of Swagger isn't bothered by it.
People dislike his pride, his will is the strongest among all angels. He also trains angels in Halls of Valor. He is the power of heaven BUT It goes for Archangels, too, that pride comes before the fall!
RexCrotchitus Cause he is a dick through out the game to you. Even in the expansion. Even though WE are the ones who save Heaven and stop his fallen brother.
After the events of Diablo 3, and specifically Reaper Of Souls, Imperious must change his title to Archangel of Arrogance. Seriously, even after killing the Prime Evil, after it kicked Imperious's ass twice, and literally saving all of creation, douchebag has the nerve to bitch at me, then say that's he, the Archangel of godamn Valor, doesn't have the heart to kill his brother.
God I hate Imperious, i do not know why but I can see them making another expansion where he is the antagonist. He acts like one bitching at me for not killing demons as soon as they spawn. I am fucking Torment 6 ya dick, those demons take a lot of damage before they die.
Razor Blade It is obvius he is being set up as an antagonist, since he goes out of his way to antagonize the player character and every other good guy, including Tyrael... and I hate the very notion because it is so obvius, no subtitly, no character growth, no character ark, just... I would really like if he redeems himself (dobutfull since we alredy killed Malthael, who was far more sympathetic) or gets dies as a heroic sacrifice... but really I dont expect the writers to even consider that.
Link544 But at the same time, I don't understand what his motivation would be for going nuts and trying to kill the humans. He hates them, for sure, but it's worth remembering that there are 2 other (excluding Tyrael) on the Angiris consul who would very much take issue with an all out War on Humanity. Without his army, Imperious isn't much of a threat. Maybe he gets corrupted by something, idk. But with Diablo back in circulation after the events of RoS, he's the bigger villain for the next expansion.
Link544 I actually think we are going to see Imperius redeemed in the next expansion. All of the Evils have been released so we already know who the antagonist(s) will be.
watching this almost a decade later.... HOW THE FUCK DID THEY NOT MAKE MORE OF THESE, THIS IS AMAZING, BLIZZARD WTF ARE YOU THINKING GOING TEN YEARS WITHOUT MAKING ANY MORE OF THIS
100% everyone has been saying this same thing for years only for nothing to change. Why don't Blizz make a whole division just for movies it only makes sense to me
@@123hattan you assume but your very wrong your talking like someone who hasn't seen any trailers any gameplay or any news it sounds more like pessimism
lordaizen66 The reason the Nephalem are so powerful and so deadly, is because they have Free Will and are not controlled by fate. In other words Imperius's essence is that of a glorious bastard who will never give the demons quarter. Thus did he kill Diablo and continued the cycle of eternal war. This is why sanctuary was created, by demons and angels tired of the eternal war. This is also a big plot element in diablo 3. but that is all I'll say
They have been killed it's just the crystal arch always resurrects the angel and the evils only fight outside of the hella so they don't permanently die so that's why they have been going on for so long
Ethereal is the angel I'd be most concerned about were I a demon; don't get me wrong they're all fantastic but damn Ethereal is on a whole other level, I suspect he *could* overpower the demons in combat including Diablo single handed if he so chose. I mean the bugger blinks around cutting demons down because he knows precisely where they are and what they will do... Ethereal overpowered, please nerf.
Not quite. Itherael knows all the actions that Angels AND Demons will take because of the Scroll of Fate, but that INCLUDES his own actions. He can't act outside the actions he's read in the scroll, so he spends a lot of time doing very little (since he's Fated to do very little). Infact, Diablo's ultimate victory when he gains all the powers of the other Prime and Lesser Evils and storms heaven alone is written in the scroll. And this nearly comes to pass in Diablo 3. Except for a conspicuous absence in the scroll. Humanity. Humans have TRUE free will in the Diabloverse, they can CHOOSE their actions, and aren't fated to take specific ones, something Angels AND Demons lack the capacity for. (This is what drives Malthael insane as well, that the capacity to choose between Good and Evil is "wasted" on beings who live for only a short time, rather than the immortal Angels and Demons)
Duke Nukem In fact thats the reason Itheral voted against the destruction of humanty after the Sin Wars. The only hope for the heavebs to survive is humanity.Well except you make them your enemys like Malthael did.I think this will be a Problem later on.
On the first Diablo, we fought one of the Prime Evils, Diablo. On the second Diablo, we fought all three of the Prime Evils, Diablo, Mephisto and Baal, plus some of the Lesser Evils, Andariel and Duriel. On the third Diablo, we fought the rest of the Lesser Evils, Belial and Asmodan plus one Angel, Malthael. Please please please make the next Diablo about Angels! We already got one and I'd LOVE to get my hands on Imperius! ^_^
@@heavenaimol1988 Sorry but if you think of glorifying WoW then please skip. They turned an open minded undead campaign into "Always evil against your will enslavement" and killed all that was good about 1/4 of what they were. WoW is WC made a zombie with sole purpose of making money. A single WC4 would be 10 000 times better then all WoW put together but they cant make TRANSACTIONS and SUBSCRIPTIONS that way using 20 years old graphics and physics whilst selling out their old glory.
@@Jeppejan well, he was still edgy as wisdom. He even wore all black and used sickles back then as well. And was already nicknamed as Death in the Sin Wars, IIRC.
Auriel is the oldest sister who knows it all imperious is the brother who's thinks he's tough Itherael is the youngest brother who has something to prove Malthael is the oldest brother who thinks he's wise Tyrael your cousin who joins you online all the time
It would be cool if all the Angels fell like Imperius and Malthael. Imperius ( Valor )= Wrath Malthael ( Wisdom )= Death Tyrael ( Justice )= Tyranny Ithereal ( Fate )= Doom Auriel ( Hope )= Despair
A shame that he went mad and became an Antagonist. Including the fact that he judged Humanity too harshly, without putting any effort of trying to understand them first. Which gives one to question his aspect for that he stands for.
their story telling was so gripping so full so intresting so powerful so emotional so beautiful - now the company revolves around money they no longer care about the story they no longer try at all ..... i feel like i lost someone i loved with all my being they just died and faded away - a part of my life that is suddenly missing and whats in its place has no issue with using me and acting like i mean nothing ...blizzard how could you do this to us how could you be so callious cold and hateful .... we all really loved you more then you or we knew but now you love money and were are nothing but dirt to you .
This is so sick I think this would be a fantastic 13 episode series ( full of the entire Diablo cannon and lure) made like the Halo series The idea of seeing The Angiris Council in action is dope
In Diablo 3, I was waiting for this huge fullout war between the Angels and Demons to take pace on Sanctuary... and it NEVER happened. I was SO disappointed
Imperious and maltheal (however u spell it) are my favorite arc angels. They got the best designs. Also this design of Diablo is my favorite. Same design from D2. His design in D3 he was too skinny and looked like a mix between a female and the queen xenomorph.
@@tacticalwolf9119 what is under the armour? Do they always have it on? Do they change clothes? Is the armour apart of them!! Are they just a walking void of darkness with shiny armour!!!! What are they!!!!
I love Diablo saying: "Take your vengeance Imperius... See your victory!" "So much for your unity, the trap at last has sprout"? I LOVE DEVIL! Diablo doesnt have fear, such a power!
Cool, the imagery kind of reminds me of the tapestry in the opening narration to this animated supernatural action series from years before called Angel Wars: Guardian Force. If I remember correctly, the opening narration went something like this. “In the beginning... there was one... a great Maker King who called forth all that was. The first of The Maker King’s creations was the glorious race of Angels, with none so bright as The Day Star... but... the crown jewel of The Maker King’s creation... was Earth, where lived a race of human beings so loved by The King that it enraged The Day Star. Drawing to his side a legion of fallen angels, the treasonous rebel betrayed his former master and fought to overthrow The Kingdom of Heaven. His rebellion squashed by the righteous guardians, the cowardly rebel fled to Earth where he finally found his opportunity for revenge. From that day forward, a war has raged for the hearts of humans, one side... bent on destruction... the other... redemption. These... are The Angel Wars.”
Give this a go: 1. Pause this video at 0:15 and mute sound 2. In another tab or window, go to RU-vid and lookup "Iced Earth Prophecy Ripper Version" and pause it at 0:00 (make sure sound is on for that video) 3. Start both videos together 4. Enjoy That lyrics might not make a whole lot of sense for the purposes of this anime short, but I find that the music is just about spot on with the action...
4:47 I should know, I'm kinda an authority on justice. Also, its completely irrelevant if its justice or not. Its also not a good idea. Take your pick.
I'd adore something like this in the Starcraft universe!! I think it would be fab beyond reason! I mean, would be great for Diablo, too. Or wow, for that matter. But I think wow has its way already with storytelling. I remember their Emperor Shaohao videos from mop. That practically made the expansion for me. Yes, I liked mop, whatever. Anyway, point is, I agree, they should do it. I'd pay!
I love how dramatic all of this is, when in canon and in game, each of the D3 player characters could all shitstomp both sides of this war on their own.
