You are spot on with your assessment, Lida. 4pc vitthus outperforms 4pc grace everytime, and it becomes even more apparent with mothers lament. If you look at the breakdown, 60% of the bk damage comes from the primary attack. Therefore, 4pc vitthus and 2pc shalbaas for dungeons and raids gives the most dps. Ive tried every combo, and this setup crushes with the exact same skills (substituting the new shoulder, which further boosts primary attack). I do solo a lot, so i use the self-buff shroud chest. When solo, it outperforms the one you have equipped in the video, especially with mother's lament. In a party, the one you showcase in the video is superior by far. Influencer outperforms Layered Aims for me as well while solo but it was by 50k which is pretty trivial at the numbers I have here imo. So I just use Layered Aims in case anyone joins while running or w/e.
Hey Lida, always enjoy the videos. If you're going for the highest damage possible against the dummy/general single target, you want to go 4 gloom/2 vithus with Maw of the Pursuer Helm, Torture and Torment shoulders, Influencer chest, Vile Grievances pants, Besalver main (for gloom proc), Cruel Vendetta other main, Mercy's Plight offhand, and Mooncall offhand. With a rank 10 Mother's Lament I could consistently get 136 million damage per minute with this build at 7,392 res. I believe I had 20% native crit chance on my gear at the time.
Was going for some aoe damage as well to help clear dungeons etc. I should of perhaps seperated a dungeon and raid build but the overall intent was really just to walk people through the process. Will give that build a try as well, thanks!
Hey Lida! I tested training dummy for hours and the best is.... Mephetic cloud with helm for dmg and pants for att speed. Shroud of night with chest piece influencer on dummy or layered aim for raids. Bats with the new shoulder piece for primary att. Wirlhwind strike on dummy or skewer in raid - full shadow edge essense with 4 piece virthu and 2 piece shallbass. I am 1890 reso and my best in 1 min is 64.8M dmg.
Yes, ty. I should of clarified more about the tests I was doing. I was aiming for some aoe damage as well to help clear mobs in dungeons etc. I will also do a single target only version given how popular it was in the comments.
I use the same essense except for the shoulders. I use the new one. damage output is better in my test. Shalabas is better if you only do 1 target e.g raids but for dungeons where you need to clear mobs banquet I think is fine. also for better comparison, I pause the timer when I hit my target time, I usually do 1min.
Ya after reading through comments I wish I had been more clear I was trying to keep some aoe in the build as opposed to pure single target. Perhaps just cover a single target only build soon. Will give the shoulders another look, thanks.
Try this but with The mephitic cloud pants instead with cloud instead of skewer ciphon dot main hand instead of skewer m/h marks offhand instead of skewer o/h new shoulders I’m 3.7 res doing roughly the same damage as you are here with the build above ^
Also can keep skewer which I prefer, if u drop siphon and use the new helm to add 25% damage but the animation time from skewer drops the Dps more than most would expect. Then bring back skewer main hand of course instead siphon and trade marks offhand for skewer offhand(debatable)
Another thing to keep in mind is transfusion is a dash skill so with 3% Benefit duration on all gear and 4 pc vithu you can almost always have aspd buff as well as 2 pc Pc gloom 15% boost
Been running 4pc vithus and 2 pc BOE on all my melee class for the longest time. With the introduction of target dummies it pretty much solidified how much better it was for damage. That being said I do lots of testing especially going back and forth btw BK and Necro. Just swapped back to BK a few hours ago and hit 121 million in 1 min over 2 million dps with 2.1k res. No ultimate, no ancestral bonus, no family bonus set… unfortunately i reforged all my 100% damage bonus stats for summoning necro which was huge dps loss for my BK. But even still for reference when new essence was introduced. My BK using old essence was around 800k dps 60 million damage in 1 min. I swap to necro first time range got it to around 85 million without proper gear/gems. So decided to invest more resources into gems and reforge. Highest damage with necro was like 95 million with ultimate, ancestral properties and 100% damage family bonus. Well I took a break from Necro bc all that farming and still no new off hand essence. Got my BK the new essences and it was getting stronger and stronger with each essence found. Now especially today seeing 121 million damage I’m re evaluating my decision to put resources into Necro class.
@@MinMaxRPG Actually typo on the 800k dps at 60 million damage it was more like 1 million. I was thinking of my alt BK with some of the new essence that was doing 800k dps. But still I agree the gap btw old and new essence is massive. Especially if you gear for PVE with all the right stats.
Strange. I get around 10-15% more damage with cloud instead of siphon blood (Maw of the pursuer and vile grievances), and no skewer. Skewer seems to slow my dps down, even with the off hand. Instead of skewer I use transfusion without essences to activate vithus. I use Mercy’s plight off hand. I have redone the tests many times and I always get highest dps with this build, significantly lower with the build you just posted. However that build has other strengths, like better survivability and mobility.
I should of better explained the type of build I was trying to show tbh. Lot of people have expressed the same results for a more single target build, I will cover one as well to help clarify.
Funny thing, I'm skipping skewer essence here and using sanguinate instead to buff primary attack even more. As for set items, I'm using a weird 2pc Vithu's + 2pc Banquet + 2pc Gloom to try and boost all sources of dmg. I'm obviously nowhere near the same resonance so, I opt for this, which makes me wonder (now after watching your video) whether 2pc Grace + 2pc Banquet would increase dmg in any meaningful way from a dps standpoint
Multiple people have mentioned skipping skewer for more single target. I'd be curious to compare lower reso with the same build and see how reso scaling affects things.
I use same build with sanguinate instead of transfusion in bg using weaver too - so long as there are not people 4k plus over my res it is very fun to mow people down

My boy ur way behind vithus no banquet has been on top for a while. Cloud, shroud, bats, and siphon is by far the highest single target dmg while using the new essences other than the head.
They've also showed the BK intro for multiple updates while doing nothing for the skill in terms of viability. Irks me every time they reuse it. May as well change the intro to nothing but a mist for 45 seconds.
