There are timestamps in the comments for anyone who is solid on the basics and just needs info on a more advanced topic. Also, leave me some feedback as you make familiars after this. If you run into higher level issues and realize I didn't explain some part and you find you still don't feel clear on some part. I plan to make a follow up video after stocking up on contracts for a month to actually meld and covert some in various mixes. I'd like to be able to address any outstanding questions in Part 2. Part 2 will be shorter and just the actual Melding and conversions where you can see how much I improve the familiars I had in this tutorial applying the tips and knowledge I gave in this video.
Also, they have added a new option to melding. You can use 1-2 conversion stones to meld an ordinary familiar w the stones instead of another familiar. If you do this it keeps other parts of familiar intact just adds 1 rare skill to it. The Aberrant familiar conversion is 8* conversion stones not 2*.
I apologize for the times I say "skills" accidentally here and there when referencing a trait or attribute. It's clear I'm explaining a trait or attribute item. I also called Aquatic Chain, Active Chains the first time I say it lol but the right words are right there so it's clear I mean Aquatic Chains. It's a lot to keep straight and explain in a way where knowledge builds and stacks right to make it clear, remembered, and not totally overwhelming to absorb!
At the end I have orange selected and I keep saying gold when I mean orange...by then...you know exactly what I meant lol cause you were a familiar expert by then anyways! 🎉
Cool video, you got my like! I really learned stuff on this. But I also have a correction to make, at ~55 minutes you say that melding has a chance to be either one familiar or the other. That is not true, you can select which familiar will be preserved when melding, so you can actually USE the "+1" compensation point to increase your familiar's attributes. of course it's not really viable, since if you have a 168 agility familiar and you want to get it to 170, it's far more easier and convenient to just swap the attributes than meld it with 2 other 170+ familiars to get to 170. But it's a solution for extreme f2p players that don't want to spend 3k Plat for the swap. Other than that, very nice explanation. I wish you had farmed more familiars and did example Melds and conversions with and without stones but I understand that that's going waaaay out of your way to pull off. Would be nice to get a follow up video with examples though! ^_^ Great job!
@Niphrentil Thanks for adding in that information! Love that you are helping boost the knowledge! It's such a huge process. I will definitely save some up and do a follow up to demonstrate w the stones how you can preserve your familiar and then just add 1 rare skill, Melding 2 to up a skill, then converting. It took me about up to the recording of this video to get it all figured out. Since the video just with this week's 3 contracts I managed to end up w another blue w all rare or legendary skills, a duskprowler that started w high attributes for his blue quality but all magic level skills that are now 3 rare, 3 magic. I also realized I forgot to show a couple things in the video so I will definitely do a follow up! Much appreciation you shared that extra advice with everyone!
