Very interested in this paddle the design is appealing I enjoy a thin paddle like the ALW-12.7mm, but I’ve been waiting for the Christian Alston paddle signature to release and I’ve heard nothing would you recommend this instead??
If you're looking for a quick, poppy, 14mm paddle I definitely recommend the Speed Pro. Other than the hollow sound (which I got used to quickly), I found absolutely zero issues.
Similar to Speed Up Fire, CRBN 1x, DBD 14mm in terms of pop. Less power than a Joola perseus, Legacy Pro, or a lot of 16mm Gen 2 power paddles. However, I was surprised at how much power it generated with a 115 swingsweight. Plenty of power for my game, but I'm more comfortable with a 14mm paddle
@@SimplyPickleball thanks for replying! I’m currently “sponsored” by diadem so I’m able to get the edge 18k speed pro for only $100 and just wanted to see if I should get this or the Perseus from a friend for $120.
@SimplyPickleball I get it, but I've seen better numbers on newer paddles. The new Gen 3 Anna bright scorpius has a swingweight of 109, weight below 8 ounces and twistweight above 6. It also packs a punch. It's also 14mm.
@@robedwards6926 that’s an 8 inch wide hybrid paddle…apples to oranges. Interesting the stock AB 14mm has about 6.5 twist weight. Speed Pro with lead tape is 8. Again, that’s why I like lighter paddles I can customize myself.
@SimplyPickleball There's elongated paddles with better twistweight numbers also. I'm not saying it's a bad paddle, I've never played with it. I'm just saying I've seen better numbers on a 14mm paddle. I can send you the link to a paddle database that I use. Lead will bump up the twist but it will also bump up the swingweight.
@@SimplyPickleballThe paddle is listed at 8oz. Mine came in at 8.1. Most I’ve seen are around the 8.0 mark. 7.8 is an anomaly and shouldn’t be expected.
