The easiest and most available method of diagnosing a pre 2000 mercedes and it is free too, for me it was the only way to clear fault codes on my convertible top module. Please download the fault code PDF, which is in the description. Thank you for watching and subscribing.
Hello World Blink. A1 in three weeks of research and sharing. Thank you ! Went down the rabbit whole with Jaguar electronics..Now it's Mercedes turn. Read 1 pair behind the audio head unit so I got my Krone punch down tool out. Now we talking connecting a light globe for the vehicle to make it purr and Ohm. The path of least resistance, keep it simple, bring back analogue 🙂 Oils are not just oils.
Thank you for posting this video! I’m in the same boat with my 96 SL320. The foxwell and C3 could not communicate with my 38-pin connector. Going to try this today and see if it works.
can I simply run 2 wires from 12V DC LED light and from the negative wire a switch wire? no fancy block as yours😂. I've seen even more sophisticated self made OBD readers. I don't want to over do it. is the block important? thank you very much for all your helpful videos!
Thank you! I copied your blink system. It lights on when I hold it for 3 seconds, but I am getting no blink after that at all. That goes for all pins, same thing
@@BenzAddiction Rick's pdf file for error code says, no blink or 1 blink is no error but Mercedes USA pdf file doesn't say anything about no blink. Any thoughts?
First of all, thank you for this video! I made a code reader to diagnose my ASR light and limp mode for my 92 500sl 16 pin connector. I'm in the US by the way. I tested the "Electronic Accelerator / Cruise Control / Idle Speed Control (EA/CC/ISC) w/ASR". The book says it's "Closed throttle recognition signal to engine control module (HFM-SFI or Left LH-SFI) Fuel safety shut-off to engine control module (HFM-SFI or left or right LH-SFI)". Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you again!
I like your video and your explain but for example if i need to check the electronic transmission 722.6 ? If there is fuolt ! How many times will light?? Please answer.. great service. very educative .Thank you regards
Any update on this? Trying to figure out how to reset codes for my TCM. I replaced the conductor plate twice now but I’m not convinced the code has been cleared properly using the OBD2 port. I’ve read I have to use the 38pin port to clear it properly.
Thanks for your videos, always very informative and because you're based in Australia is even better. I have just bought a '96 Sl500 r129. As this video was done about 9 mths ago have you searched anymore for an OBD scanner that will diagnose the r129 fully including Roof and Suspension ? Thanks George
Thanks mate, the situation for 96 year might be better and you might be able to diagnose using a OBD2 Scanner. I am not 100% sure though on the brand you should use.
@@bernardwarr4187 Hi Bernard, mine is a R129 1999 and only gets light on, no flashing, If same tool works fine on your W124 I guess system is different after 1998.
So I made the testing circuit, but when I press the button, nothing happens. If i reverse the circuit but not connect 16 , i have led light. So I have 12 Volts on all test points but when I push it to ground with the button, nothing happens afterwards.. Why is this?
I checked my wiring again, diode was wrong way around, but I still have trouble getting it to blink on error codes, the led lights when I press the button now. But no blinks after i have pressed it for 3-4 sec.
@@JulianoBarbosa-b1v no i didnt solve it, i dont know if it matters but the car had been standing without power for at while. But im guessing i should atleast have gotten the one blink "ok/no faults" led. But I never did...
@@petter7252 Hi Petter, yeah, same here, my car is a R129 1999 but still has 38-pin connector, I was wondering if it has a different diagnostic system. Thanks for your attention, if I find something I will keep you posted, maybe @BenzAddiction can help us meanwhile.
Thank you. If I’m having starting issues, what pins would you recommend checking? The car was running great and then it stalled and won’t start. Just replaced fuel pump. No change.
@@danludwig3679 These modules are not very sophisticated, I would start 1. Checking fuel pressure 2. Pull a plug wire and check for ignition while cranking. If it is fuel related, fuse and pump relay to be checked. Ignition related: might be coil...
