Tim, you ROCK! I had two faults...using your video I fixed them both, in about 15 minutes (OK, I had to go get a fresh coffee.) If I phoned RockXX### A#@# it would have taken two hours, including phone tag. And they would have charged me $$$$. Thanks again.
Tim, Is there any way to clear the fault without connecting via computer? I am guessibng the 820 is not able, but possible on the 810 via memory module?
I downloaded a PID Tuning demo code from the Rockwell website for my Micro 820. After downloading it on the PLC the RUN light blinks non-stop and I can't connect. How can I reset this situation? Thanks.
Hi Tim, I have a big issues hopefully you can solve with your awesome techniques, I took a PLC from somewhere, that PLC is a Micro820 that used to have a plug-in module that I don’t have anymore. Every time I try to put it in Run mode I have “ major fault related to powering up the PLC without the module present 0xF0D2” In the new program configuration there is not plug in modules presents but the PLC still showing the fault. I tried to flash the PLC, upgrading it, downgrading it and nothing I don’t have the original program with the modules config. Any ideas master?
Hi tim, seeing if i can pick your brain with this one... Connecting to a mirco850 via usb on a windows 11 laptop, startee doing a firmware update and then came up "lost connection" and a red flashing fault light has come up on the plc... Now the plc doesn't show up under usb and only under virtual chassis and won't allow us to connect, have tried to connect via other laptops windows 7, 10 and no luck, is there a way todo a factory reset on the plc? Rockwell support and acouple other automation companys have had no luck!
At that point, I would try using the SD card to upgrade the firmware. I should do a video on that sometime but it is pretty well documented in the manual.
ONE QUESTION SORRY I HAVE ONE MICRO810 PLC , AND WHEN I SEND IT 12 DCV , THE POWER ON LED FLASH TWO TIMES AFTHER THAT THE LED TURN OFF AND THAS ALL , DO YOU HAVE AN IDEA WHAT´S WRONG
Sure, connect a light to a normally open relay and in your program have an output energize to it with no conditions. This way it is energized whenever the PLC is in run mode, turning the light off.

Hi Tim, I found this video while i troubleshooting my micro850 plc. I have this blinking fault error after i try to download plc program for the first time. During the process CCW did prompt to update the hardware firmware and i proceed. I believe the process is not complete (I didnt interrupt), and now I unable to communicate thru usb.. Any advise? I relatively good troubleshooting other brands plc. Lacking of literature on this plc made me looking for your help.
Hello, thank you for your videos!!! Just a question, I made the firmware upgrade with USB cable and after that the PLC doesn't boot I looked for some procedure to solve the problem but nothing! Do you know if there exist a way in order to repair this? Micro830 Fault Red Led blinking always and do nothing!! Thank you!!!
Is there a way you could explain if you have to update a program where new additional inputs will be controlling the program I have a project that I'm supposed to be helping program and it's prox switches that will indicate what bin a belt is feeding into. I believe I might know how however I know this would be an issue for new automation or I&e techs going on to an existing plant.
