Hello, I'm Lance (aka Bundy Bear), and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advice to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our website available to us and in our store. If you don't see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au or call 1300 850 097 and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advice at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

Very well explained sir! Great video. I’m looking forward to the video on resealing the valve. I’ve replaced the o ring in top a couple times, when I got one from the Massey dealer, it worked a lot better, but now is weeping again. Thanks Lance

I have used 15W40 engine oil for many years with good results, my Landcruiser steering box stopped leaking after I changed it to engine oil, eight years later still no leak.

Yes there is a lot of fuss re oils that is not really needed.

Very interesting ,the mf 20 appears very similar to my mf 240 .Steering control valve dismantle will be good to see as i have had an original resealed but it leaked after a time so i fitted a new one which drips lightly at the mounting face .thanks for well explained video

I think they would be the same, very similar tractors under the tin work.

Hey Bundy, great video as allways. I wanted to ask you for help, im a young farmer and as a lot of young people in this line of work i try to fix everything by myself as mechanic shops or dealers are too expensive. I operate a JD 2850 (the german made one) with a loader and 4 wheel drive, your videos on the 1640 have saved me much trouble but the biggest problem i have with this one is that, after hours of work, specially in heat, hydraulic flow seems to suffer for some reason. Its not a constant problem, sometimes im raking and all goes well then at the next endrow when im going to lift the 3 point does not lift and the power steering becomes janky, if i stop and accelerate it starts lifting and turning and all of the sudden it gets better and i can go fo a while like that until it happens again, but only if the temperature outside is high and the tractor has been working for hours, like it had something to do with oil heating up. Can you help me please? im kind of desperate.

When it next does this try and make sure you drop the hi/lo lever into Lo. If it seems to get better it is a sign that the Hi brake piston packing in starting to leak.

@@BundyBearsShed Thank you for the help Bundy, i'll have to wait a little until i can try it because in europe now its freezing and there is not much to do with the tractor but i'll let you know it its that, i allways run it in the HI position, allways allways so i really hope is not because of that

Lance I have a 1963 MF35 industrial loader with power steering. I put a new steering shaft seal in it and it worked for a while then started leaking badly. I watched your vid on the MF steering pressure. When it started leaking I had the steering cranked for quite a while all the way to the left pushing some brush. That's when I noticed it leaking. The shaft seemed good. There shouldn't be a lot of pressure where the steering shaft seal is, do you think?

There will be some, even all the way up to relief pressure depending on how your piston rings are. Holding hard one way for a while is never a good thing as it does overload the system and at times heat the oil.

G Day Lance, a great demo on the power steering operation, If you put the seized king pin in a press and pushed it do you think it would bring the bearing bushes out with it? or do you think it's siezed into the cast sleeve? going to be interesting seeing the re-seal video's many thanks Barry
