My mom went through dialysis towards the last years of her life she was eventually able to stop treatment but ultimately she died about a year later. This video gives me an idea of what she went through during that time. I miss her so much. I'm trying to imagine her interacting with other patients. I don't miss her having to get these procedures but I miss being with her to take her to them. I got so used to the hospital trips and now that she's gone that's not necessary anymore. I miss being with my mom for any reason.
I hope your mom is resting in peace and it sounds like you were amazing to her!!! I am a Dialysis Social Worker and find so much meaning in interacting with my patients❤️
I understand what you mean, Ben...I too, would accompany my dear mother to her Dialysis appointments...my poor mother really did not like Dialysis, though, so it was painful to watch her go through this... Sadly, my beautiful mother lost her battle to Ovarian Cancer on 09/13/24...but it was a rough couple months in which two weeks was Dialysis with Chemo in between : ( Rest In Peace, momma...
Kudos for the video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried - Reyameron Linkify Blitzkrieg (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good exclusive product for learning how to avoid dialysis and boost your kidney health without the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my mate at very last got cool success with it.

I was on dialysis for 4 years! I used to work as well in the hospital so that i dont lose my job to take care of my family and insurance provided! Its been a year now that i had undergone kidney transplant
My father used to do them 3 times/ week during daytime… he got a kidney transplant and it failed, and he died one year after the transplant. How are you and your father holding? I know this is a tough situation… I’m hoping the best things in the world happen to you and your father 💞💕💞
@@mime514 i was on dialysis for 4 years 3 times a week Got my kidney transplant last year I can totally understand how he might be going thru! Dialysis is worst thing ever
I appreciate the main male speaker who dialyzed from home. Basically he said you need to be your own advocate and that was great advice. So far this is the most helpful video I've seen in my research for my upcoming future.
Be proud of yourself because if you're in watching this video and in search more information, you are becoming the captain of your ship by being able to make informed decisions. WE ARE FAMILY
I decided to look this up because I know someone who's going through this and I wanted to get educated properly on this to understand what they are going through and what they go through daily or weekly as they are getting their dialysis so again thank you very much for this informative video it's very educational for me in a sure for others
You actually live longer doing peritoneal dialysis because you do it everyday at night. I don't know why more people don't know this. You don't get cramps or tired after from going to the clinic to get hemodialysis. MDs get more money from patients who get the clinic option. Yall need to stop saying yall are scared to get the home option...they train you and you are not alone, you have help. 😔
I know that kidney transplant patients have to take immunosuppressive drugs for life. The big problem with these drugs is that you can be subject to a higher risk of sepsis, which can kill. So even though after a kidney transplant, you do not have to face liquid restrictions or other dietary restrictions, you may face restrictions on social congregations to help prevent the risk of sepsis. In these days of COVID, you may have to wear a mask if you take these drugs after a kidney transplant.
Life is always beautiful when you have good health, for almost 4 years I was diagnosed with HPV, and I was lonely and sad, luckily for me I was addressed to a kind and great herbal doctor who helped me to restore my health back to me, he sent me the herbs that cured my Shingles virus 🦠 completely and the test results proves I'm now negative of the virus, all thanks to Doctor Ani John for the cure remedy for restoring my health, I will always be grateful to you for your kind gestures..
I’m a caregiver for an elderly lady and she goes in 3x week, she always talks about how difficult and draining it is to be on dialysis. So I got curious and that’s why I’m watching this video. Very informative. 🙏🏽
This is very helpful ! My mom has been on dialysis for 13 years ! I’m jus praying she can get this transplant! & I’m just saying this video was very helpful 🥹. Thank u
A lady I have been caring for has been having dialysis for 18 years. She’s 87 now and 2 days ago she refused to go anymore. I feel she has given up. I think if she could have it at the nursing home she would have carried on but the ambulance journey to the hospital and back ended up so long and stressful for her she’s has just enough now. Sometimes the ambulance would be 2 hours late she couldn’t cope with it any longer.
@@helenalovelock1030 yes. That can happen 😣 sadly but truly . It’s about the matter of time people expect to get their kidney… the 1st few years & then when it seems like there’s no hope & times goes by. They think . What am I going here for, it’s no solution anyways . I try to push my mom to go sometimes. But sometimes you can really tell a person who sees everyone one else around them passing & ur still here. Its a triple hurt . To them & families 😫. I just hope she continues to find the courage to keep trying & live her life to the fullest 🙂 no regrets ❣️
@@nishanshann I don’t think she could have a transplant for some reason I’m not sure why maybe they thought she was too old. She’s fought a long time though now I honestly can’t imagine 18 years 3 times a week. Very brave ladies 😍😍😍. Hope you mum gets her transplant 🙏🏻💕💕😍
@@helenalovelock1030 definitely ! The definition of brave ! & thank u 🫶🏽. Jus keep loving on ur patient . She’ll be fine . & if she’s able to do it @ home. That’ll probably be more comfortable for her
Thank God the technology is improving every few years is getting much much better. Take care of your Kidneys as much as you can and watch on your blood pressure, sodium intake( You will find out how much salt is in almost all your food; stay with cooking from scratch and limit your salt), watch on your Phosphorus consumption from Sodas;specially Colas and fast-food has too much of this chemical( again stay with home made meals with fruits and vegetables). God Bless you all. Also Please exercise and keep a healthy weight to live a little bit longer.

My husband started dialysis last year, it makes him sick, to a point where he's throwing up, cramping all over, headaches, and an overall feeling of being unwell, is this normal?
Yes the throwing up and fatigue will go on for a little while untill the body adjusts. It does go away after a month or two. I passed out twice, so it could be worse. Now my biggest issues are the fatigue and hunger after a dialysis session. It's best to have a small snack waiting to eat first thing coming home. And the other tip is get strong Lidocaine 4% applied to the arm 1.5 hours before the needles go in. You won't feel any pain at all. You don't have to accept the pain.
Hello I started hemodialysis 6 months ago. There is gonna be a little nausea and cramping ,maybe some fatigue/feeling a bit run down which is pretty normal but what I've found is that if you take the time to really learn/educate yourself or in this case your husband about the renal diet it makes all the difference, especially about how I feel. I can honestly say that with a proper renal diet, a little exercise I feel great, better than I have in a long time. I promise you it's well worth these small adjustments in your lifestyle. You & your husband can encourage eachother along the way.
My aunt had a catheter for 10 years and her doctor told her “no one’s gonna inject you for $400”. Then she further learned the needle cost $1,100. She learned that you shower with plastic and a type of tape I forgot but no infection in 10 years. Her transplant was a success so learn as much as you can.
Not everyone is that lucky... so it's unchill to encourage ppl to keep a temporary device in their heart. I've seen many good ppl die from infections for keeping it so long.
Hemodialysis focuses on arteriovenous entries and exits in access to clean out the toxic blood from the body and bring cleaned or filtered blood into your body, usually in your arm (one of them) - a shunt or a fistula. The warning here is that any blood pressure cuff measurements or venipunctures should not be used by health care providers on that arm that is used in the dialysis shunt or fistula in hemodialysis.
Once again the dialysis therapist are always left out / down played , but are the ones that carry out most of the renal placement therapy for the patient and also are low balled when it comes to wages because they can not give meds . dialysis therapists are the back bone RPT .

Excellent video.. I learned more from this one video than I have Ever going to my nephrologist.. Well done! People who need dyalasis are unsure and hesitantt because We arent given enough information to make an informed decision.
I cant agree more i felt like i was enticed into doing home pd but the first 6mths was hell my body couldnt tek the fluid overload and day fill only then to have them say go under the knife again to get a fistula put in for haemodialysis.. Shocking how at 25 driving all the way ti hospital puking my guts out they lied to me about putting me on the transplant list. Family member donated eventually wich cudda saved me from dialysis in the 1st place. Wat was also annoying was they mek u do home dialysis u tek on a huge risk n burdan opting for that option teking the syress off the staff ti then b told ot was the wrong option 4u

You have to Trust in the Lord, not just doctors. I had my fistula surgery and it went smoothly. My arm is healing very nicely, the pain was minimal. My scar looks normal, now I have to wait for it to mature and heal, I'm on my way to feeling better. Thank you Jesus for giving me strength and courage. I stay away from negative comments, don't listen to these people, only listen to positive people. People are something else, be careful who you listen to. 🙂🙏🙌❤️💯
If it was ,then you don't see thousand kidney patients, Your belief is good but over ,is stupidness I am also a Muslim, but I don't belief God has nothing to do with any diasese, Human body is very ephemeral which means very weak There are million of disease for humans just so human have to live up to certain short time then ,achieve death That's makes the human life very short if there was no disease or if the God heal the disease human will become eternal And that's make concept of life here after , interesting

This is such BS! These guys make it sound so easy; They don’t bother to tell you how much people are cramping, how tired it makes you, the HUGE noise distractions because of the CONSTANT noise from the beeping machines, the fact that they are often late getting you on, the chairs that are broken so you have to be pushed against the wall so you don’t fall down. Yeah. Tell the people THOSE facts while you’re at it!

Im right at the threshold of stage 5. Im 51. I was born with one kidney, and its slowly went down the past 15 years to the point at anytime ill be on dialysis. Im terrified. I just entered a Kidney transplant program at the U so im going to start a bunch of tests. Im 51 im not ready to die. Dialysis scares me as much as death. Im scared life wont be worth living.
@@barbaradubois8911 I was stage 3 for like 3 years. But I didn't take care of it AT ALL. I was horrible with the diet. Yes eventually it will decline, but please please make changes NOW if you haven't already. And when stage 4 hits, God willing not for a long time, be very proactive about a transplant! If you are early and persistent you can get one before dialysis. And only having 1 your are prioritized. Best of luck❤❤❤
I have a central Venus cathader now and I hate it so much I went from taking 4 showers a day to now I can't take none.. and of course you have to wait for insurance to go threw so I can't get a fistula until then. Smh
i wanna ask something its very urgent please response me as soon as possible. i want to ask at which stage we need to do kidney dialysis.. how much increase in creatinine when a doctor decided to dialysis of a patient...??
