i wonder why the orientation of alkyne changed vertically?

IT is due to the orbital of alkyne so when electron flow it will have to flow vertically. Look the orbital of SP

Incase of alkyne, value of chemical shift should be more than alkene according to electronegativity but it is been found experimentally that in case of alkenes it is more and the reason is given by anisotropy. If we keep the molecule in horizontal direction protons of alkyne will come in deshielded region which means more chemical shift value which is not the case found experimentally. So it is considered that alkyne remains in vertical upright position for maximum of time due to which protons come in shielded region and value of chemical shift comes out to be less than alkenes.Hope this helps.

For acetaldehyde, the π-electron cloud is oriented perpendicular to the applied magnetic field, resulting in a diamagnetic effect and lower chemical shift. For ethyne, the π-electron cloud is aligned parallel to the applied magnetic field, leading to a paramagnetic effect and higher chemical shift.

This is a great video! I was wondering, why is it that for the alkyne, the orientation matters, but not for the alkene situation.

I love you. I am married, I tell my husband all the time how much I love you. Let's run away together and read NMR signals to each other.

why do you flip the alkine 90° around compared to the other molecules?!

He reads a lot and loves his fields He has a big will and determination I finished school but im so amazed by science that i watch this for fun I will never be able to teach this because i think in my very own weird way nobody could understand But he helps me see the world better

why didn't u just draw the acetylene just like u have drawn ethylene , i mean to say in horizontal direction?

I thought the resonant magnetic field strength is inversely proportional to the chemical shift? Why Bnet of C2H2 lower then the chemical shift also be lower too?

Because alkyne molecule is oriented so c-c axsis alined with applied magnetic field

Based on your explanation in the video, that means the Bin and Bo are paramagnetic. So how does the name diamagnetic come into play?
