I found day 2: Diamine Cashmere Rose ink to be an excellent standard ink. Just like day 1: Fortunes Gold, Cashmere Rose ink grips my Christmas cards well, and provides me with some decent shading. I am comparing it ink color and shading with Platinum Cassis Black, and beside the platinum ink being water resistant, the Cashmere Rose ink is not water resistant and thus better as water color ink, even if it leaves a trace that is legible. I do find the color and shading nice both for writing and painting.
I just opened my inkvent and swatched this ink too. This looks very similar to Ferris Wheel press Candy Marsala. Without seeing them one next to other I would say it is a twin. Now I will find that ink and will try them side by side. I will report back with results ;)
Well, Cashmere rose is one or two shades lighter than FWP Candy marsala also Candy marsala is a tad more warmer (orangeish tint ;) but not a lot) Otherwise pretty similar including wetness.
You know you have about a 12 hour head start on the other reviews on RU-vid. Q-tip is a name that is considered a generic name in the US. It can be used for any manufacturer making cotton swabs without fear of being sued. Another name in this category is Xerox. Any photocopy is called Xerox and everyone knows what you are describing. The ink is not one I would get. Too pale. Nice present from you wife. You have a wonderful spouse.
I do try and use generic names when I remember. The one I love is Hoover - my wife goes mad when I describe the act as hoovering rather than vacuuming. She loves doing all these little presents, and has already made a start on collecting things for next year, assuming there is another inkvent.
