Here’s my thoughts and experience about trying out the Diamine Inkvent Calendar.
It was quite a fun and festive activity to take part in during the holidays.

Nice choices! I’m for sure getting the Spruce - wanna be ready for next Christmas. The more I use Dusted Truffle the more I like it.

Love the way you swatched these out, it was fun to see them with some context, thank you for sharing :) I think that my favs would have to be the Dusted Truffle, Three Kings, Ghost, and Serendipity ❤

Thank you, dusted truffle is still one of my favorites. I used it throughout the new year. They came out with wonderful colours in this inkvent.

I really loved your review of the inks. I really want spruce and alpine now! I agree that appletini isn't my favorite but I love a dark blue mixed with a vibrant green like as a shadow on my title lettering. It reminds me of the northern lights. I would also play with it as an accent on a dark green.

Hey that's a great idea to use it as an accent to the darker green. I think at the least I'll be able to use it for trees in watercolour.

Thank you for a great review! I think it's as always just a matter of personal taste, and I find it interesting to hear what others think about the calendar. I am a big fan of cool jewel tones and sheen. I reaaly liked spruce, solar storm, memory lane, flame, pick me up, silent night, arctic blast, ghost, bliss, jingle berry, deck the halls and one more sleep. Peach, olive green, brown and so on are not my favourites, but they are many other people's. I would have preferred less inks with glitters and having either sheen or shimmer instead of both in so many, but I have bought this years calendar and I'm looking forward to opening it. Last years taught me to like or appreciate a few colours and combinations that I wouldn't have bought for myselv otherwise, and I also got many other beautiful inks.

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Happy inkventing to you! I hope you are enjoying this years inkvent from Diamine. I decided to skip this year because I just have so much ink I haven’t used. It’s going to take me awhile to go through all my sample size inks. It’s totally cool that not everyone has the same taste in ink colours - I know that many people love the blues but I much prefer the greens. However, we can all appreciate the beautiful colours that make a rainbow :)

I really enjoyed watching your paintings! I'm Japanese, so I'm not familier with English enough. I Knew cardinal is a bird, but I recognized they looked like by your painting. The same goes for other paintings. Thank you for these presentation. I like Yule Log too!

I just learned about the wonderful world of ink and papers and all the fun you can have with them. Thank you for posting this video. I know I'm a year behind but I found a fantastic sale on the 2022 Inkvent calander and used your video for inspiration. What do you use for cleaning brushes/pens if you're using multiple colors? The inks have so much pigment it seems to take a lot of water to clean. Thanks!

Hey, sorry for the late reply - I am behind. I’m glad you found the video helpful. I flush out my pens with just water. I’ve never had to use any other solutions but I know that there are pen flush solutions sold on the market. Use a bulb syringe, it is a game changer for all fountain pen cleaning. Goulet sells them.

I am curious, did you do the Diamine Invent 2023? I would love to see more videos like this. You are talented! I gave my coworkers fountain pens for Christmas this year and sent them a beginner fountain pen video and this one, because of the many ways you put the inks in the spotlight!!! You made them SHINE! Thank you for sharing your talent!😊

Thank you so much, Sorry but I was sick over the holidays and didn’t see this message - I didn’t do an inkvent 2023 - 2022 left me with sooo much inks which I have yet to use up! :) Thanks for commenting :) I hope you were able to “penable” your coworkers with those pens!

I love all the artwork! I wasn't ready financially for the Inkvent this year lol. But hopefully for 2023, I could purchase it. Thank you for the review! :) Do they sell these colors after the Inkvent is released as regular colors in their line?

They absolutely sell these inks in bottle format afterwards. I’m just not sure if ALL will be made into bottled inks.

Thank you so much for doing this complete review. I really enjoyed watching you go through all the inks and tell us your favourites. I liked all the inks. Didn’t have time to test the last 6 days as we went away for Christmas holiday. My top five inks: Spiced Apple, Dusted Truffle, Spruce, Arctic Blast and Memory Lane. My least favourite for sure: Three Kings! Other inks I liked less: Alpine, Celebration, Cozy up (there is something about the colours I don’t like) and finally silent night (as it looks almost black…other really dark inks had some interesting shimmer or sheen).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I agree with you on a lot of them. Yeah Silent night is very dark. Nonetheless, I think it was a wonderful variety they put together!

@@toxmot I must say it’s super difficult to choose the favourites. I still like the spiced apple the most. I don’t have an ink similar to that. And I have been using Memory Lane a lot in my Hobonichi. It looks so nice in winter ❄️. But I have been testing and looking some more since I watched your video and now I really like Alpine and Yule Log. Also the darker colours depending in what pen I try. I think the problem for me is that I mostly use JP fine nibs and then the ink looks really dark when I write with it. But the colours are all so beautiful. I really like all the colours ( except three Kings….but who knows How I feel when I try writing with it😂). I look forward to use all the inkvents inkvent inks during 2023. It will be a struggle to choose which bottle(s) to buy once they releases.

@@rimfrost556 oh yes, the memory lane would be so nice for winter. I'm using Purple Jade Rabbit by Ferris Wheel Press and it's a shimmer violet. I'll be doing a video on it soon. I'll be using the inkvent inks throughout the year too. It definitely will allow me to slow down any ink purchases. As of now I only know that I'll get the bottled version of Spruce.

My least favourite were Appletini, Spruce and Pick Me Up, I didn't like the flow of the ink. My favourites were Deck the Halls, Yule Log, Olive Swirl, Solar Storm. Also I have worked out a theory that the colour of the box relates to the colour of ink for the final day.
