Jacob from Diamond C is so calm and collected about his products. He isn't telling you to sell you, he's telling you to educated you, which will make you buy it. I really appreciate his techniques.
Through Tow Piglet and another guy out of California who documented the reason he went to Texas to buy a Diamond ♦️ C trailer was what sold me about the quality and lighter trailer vs the ole heavy design that cost ya weight and fuel .
Sam from V-Belt & Son's has 3-4 Diamond C trailers he's purchased in the past 2-1/2 years. Previously he used Texas Pride. After see Diamond C trailers, he's switched over.
I want a Diamond C trailer because of Stan's video of going to the plant and talking with Jacob. I don't have much if a need, but I still want to support them.
This Diamond C guy really knows his "sheet". Very well prepared for working the floor, what a resource Diamond C is extremly fortunate to have him representing their product lineup.
Very good points. There is a reason nobody builds a trailer with hardened steel for structural members. Sure, it would be strong and rigid. It just wouldn't handle a pothole very well. A ductile failure is far safer than a brittle failure in this scenario.
Diamond C has been killing it lately, especially among the content creators. I've seen a ton of content on youtube on Diamond C. But their products look awesome too though.
Can you ask Diamond C if they plan on upgrading the super weak charging capacity of that hydraulic dovetail trailer. You shouldn’t have to plug them in to maintain the battery if you use it almost every day, we run a 30’ goose
Well its not a "charging" circuit. It does not "push" electricity into the trailer battery. That circuit is ment to maintain a small break away battery and run interior lights and such. Not to keep a group 37 size battery or deep cycle battery charged. To be honest, if you use you your hydraulics with a low battery and plugged into the truck, that fuse is prolly blown. Those hyd unit can pull over 100 amps when under load. Your "charge" circuit is a 30 amp. Your best bet is to add a warn winch plug to your truck and trailer and run it that way.
Diamond ♦️ C actually covers that by knowing that most businesses are gonna overload loads and with that said , if your into using a trailer ya don’t wanna always try to put materials that are to the max load . They spoke that folks don’t take the time to understand that those miles with overloaded trailers is what wears out your trailer faster . I myself have worked in the landscaping industry and we towed our trailers mostly with bumper pull and some with goosenecks but most companies would load rock , soil and the Bobcat all in the same trailer and go to a job site. Sure we’d have to drive slower but now I know that what the companies don’t care about is how long will ya be repairing and replacing your trailers cause ya overused em ? Well , that’s just my dos pfennigs. PROBST !
@@eddiereyna2998 I don’t know of anyone who owns a trailer who hasn’t at one time overloaded it, including me. Lol. That said some of the high strength steels require specific welding techniques, filler materials and or welding rods/filler material/wire. Add to that some of the higher strength steels may require pre/post heating to retain strength and prevent the introduction of stresses that could lead to weldment failures. As long as you know this, it’s not a problem. Lesser grades of steel tend to flex when subjected to sudden loads such as hitting a bump or pothole. The flexing is a means of dissipating the energy imparted by the bump/pothole. Higher strength steels don’t flex as much and would tend to impart the energy from the bump into the load. Diamond tenders this with the air ride suspension which tends to help dissipate the energy. Don’t know whether the air ride is an option or standard equipment on the featured trailer. Diamond is a great manufacturer who has an excellent engineering team and manufacturing team which, works tirelessly to provide a superior product. Just some thoughts of an old man. Love your response. Please don’t be offended by mine.
Yeah forsure, i was thinking the same for a bumper hitch aluminum trailer. I would definitely bw interested to see how they engineer them if they started producing them.
Hi Stan, I'm guessing the Diamond C trailers are pretty pricey, but they have a lot of features and details that no other manufacturer has. They seem very well, engineered. Plus they also look really cool! I will definitely look twice at them before I ever purchase another trailer! Thanks for a whole video dedicated to them.
I am going to Kaufman Trailer’s they’re out of North Carolina the owner of Kaufman actually purchased hallmark trailers they make a boatload and they keep the price is as low as they can and quality is way up
@@steveanderson4768 I bought a Kauffman and really liked it and yes the factory allowed changes... I do not think their steel is the best but it served its purpose fine. Had to sell it when housing market crashed to keep up with my payments. I still have a Bri Mar dump that I use allot but again the steel? I know the paint is crap and rusts to beat hell.
"Put your wife in a trailer!" Stan, do not give me ideas like that 🤣 Very interesting video, cool to see so much innovation in trailers. Looking forward to seeing the other videos.
Good to see industry catching up to us fabricators! I built drive over fenders and extensions 5 years ago to haul mud trucks! Thanks for all the info!!
I have a one way only entrance / exit for the double J type hooks that I have been using for decades. It is funny as all he** watching people trying to unhook them. I also use receiver tubing for stake pockets for accessories and tooling attachment points.
Why does none of these companies LINEX the underside and frames. Paint last maybe 3 years. High end trailers are expensive as hell and poor quality powder paint jobs
9:50 automatic CLASS B AIR BRAKE and above endorsement drivers lics. required....just because it's an air system for the suspension which can affect your braking. how? cuz the tag axel lifts off the ground reducing a set of wheels with brakes. pretty messed up ain't it?!
Thanks for getting us in the show Stan. Out of all your videos I enjoy these types of the most. Your inquisitive attitude backed by your industry knowledge totally makes it. The Diamond C trailer ! Aww Man ! Anxiously waiting the rest of the series. Thanks again
Tow trucks, busses, and trailer that have lower to load options, people it is called, "Kneel" a device to lower it. Funny Mr. Trailer doesn't know this...well informed. Customer; can I get that squatting/lowering thing you were talking about on RU-vid...😅🤣😂
Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter if your axle is on the ground to get charged a toll. It’s how many axles you have to use that gets charged. The reason they do this is because everyone would be raising their tag axles to get out of paying the tolls.
@Scott I guess it depends on what state your in. I heard some charge by the tire, down here in Florida on the toll roads you drive over pressure plates and get charged per axle. You have a five axle setup and lift one you will be charged only for four axles because that fifth axle isn't driving over the pressure plate.
Was wondering why I was watching your trailer porn. Jacob knows his products, Diamond-C is my new favorite brand (where I didn't have one before), and I know a whole lot more about trailers now. Another great video.
So the show 8s for dealers only and Companies see why they dont make they quota. Open it up to consumers the dealers only sell consume wht u give them a deal on. We as customer wanna see these new things not find out when we stumble across them.
I'm a reseller, I buy pallets by the dozens. Right now i have a modified junk trailer. I have been looking for Diamond's Max width package goose neck. That is 100% what I been looking for. Low profile for forklifts to load pallets and wide enough to get them side by side comfortably. Sometimes pallets are overburdened and need extra room. AND it's big enough I can drive the fork lift ONTO it if needed. I was worried I was going to have to try to make one myself, which may not have been a good idea. Diamond C, yall saved me. I have not pulled a gooseneck before but it's my intention to go to it.
Stan those trailers look well built the only thing I don’t like is the steel plate over another steel plate moisture in between will cause both plates to rust out. I have a dump bed on my truck that that’s what happened I would rather have wood bottom of bed but that’s what I prefer just think more durable.
I see your point but since I don't have a diamond Cdump trailer I can't speak from experience on that. I do know the bed on my sure trac trailer is warped and looks like a wave but everything else on that one is still rock solid.
Not a fan of the multiple sheet floor one gonna rust faster and 2 would be a pain in the ass to replace the floor or just go over it all again and create rust and weight again
Hey hey stan, i though i sent a comment to you but i guess it never sent, i hope you have a awesome night, and i had one heck of a leaf clean up today. But have a amazing night, god bless and go get em, your pal and friend , Alexander costa
Just wish they built my dump trailer with stake pockets that actually fit the 2 by 4 that should go into the pockets. Great designs poor quality control. Just a little control and the finish products would be amazing. Not to mention the first time I raised then lowered my dump (empty mind you), it pinched the wiring and blew fuses in my truck.
Good evening! Day has been amazing but unplanned. Lots of things going on and none of them as scheduled haha. Isn't that the way it is though? Hows your day going? I'm drinking black coffee at 6;15pm so I must be tired- but it getting super cold and that kind of slows you down until you adjust to it.
How is a gidget different than a gadget?? Is it just a tish different, or a schose??? (Skoshe??).....editors note, commentor is originally from N.Y. so English is not so gooder, as is spelling!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can someone confirm what Jacob said about some loads you can’t haul with traditional leaf springs? I’ve had my CDL for almost 10yrs now and I’ve never heard this before
If you put 75k miles a year on it, those weight saving add up. I would bet this trailer gets .5mpg better than a "standard" GN, empty. The fact you can carry more opens you up to loads and possibly a higher rate
I absolutely love the diamond c products. Was a little out of my price range recently bought a big tex 16 lx. If you get a chance stop by there both and see how you feel about the product they supply
Well I have a air ride hitch in my pickup for my 5th wheel , well worth the investment, look in the mirror and can see the trailer moving up and down ,and cant feel it in the truck Also had my 5th wheel RV switch over to electric over hydraulic disc brakes no way would I EVER get another trailer with out them. No discussion
i really like these trailers i first saw them at highway 55 trailer sales in buffalo, but they are also at that trailer place in ramsey you went to previously in a video in 2020? or 2019
NATDA - North American Trailer Dealers Association - Went to their show in Indianapolis. Good show for actual trailer dealers since it covers trailers and parts of all type from flatbed, utility, cargo, stock and horse trailers.
Very cool stuff. When was this show? I hadn't heard anything about it, (not that I would have been invited) Anyway this should be super cool. Thanks as always, God bless.
Love these types of videos. Can we get an update on you buying a mini x and front end loader? Those kubotas you really like and want! Also you going to replace those Ford gasers with brand new Godzilla trucks or buy some more RAMs or 1 of each?
I wonder if that new Kush air ride is re engineered. Diamond C purchased back my fmax216 because the trailer would not drive straight. I believe it had to do with the ridewell air suspension and the leveling valve design. I have not heard back as to what the issue was or why they really bought the trailer back. It was 40,000 lb rated just like the one in the video. It is good to see they are improving
I’m at the beginning of the video and I really like the green trailer with the wider bed. As I plan to start my business may of 2022 doing dirt work. I’m looking at so many trailers. My old 8’ by 14’ dump trailer has been great to me for over 7 years now but I plan on needing a longer trailer for all my implements and bobcat.
This is why I went with a diamond C LPT 16 dump trailer. Lower deck height, integrated roll tarp and the ramps store in the bottom and not on top of the fenders like so many others.
I feel like spring loaded galvanized ramps/dove tail ramp setup and mechanical lifting feet is far more superior than anything hydraulic because hydraulic pumps fail, batteries go flat, and hoses leak ect...
@@RBFR01 He bought his probably 6 years ago or so its a striker 10k rated trailer bumper pull and if I ever buy another trailer it will be another full tilt trailer most likely gonna get a full tilt gooseneck to haul heavier stuff. Dad owned rollbacks for years when i was growing up and they are so nice moving stuff and this trailer is close to having a rollback but without all the extra hassle cause they have so much red tape on them due to towing companies etc.
@@RBFR01 I looked up the youtube channel you meantioned he has a pj for what i can see and he hotshots pj's are not very well built trailers and hotshotting wears out trailers quickly and they get abused big time
As much as I want a new LPX with the max width, I’m happy I’ve been holding off because it keeps getting better. Procrastinating might actually payoff in my case😆😆😆
@@Dirtmonkey when I went to my local dealer a year ago they said at the time it was a 3-5month lead time. I’m sure it’s even more now. I know the company I’ve bought my skid steer and tractor attachments through have a 4-6month lead time now.
Damn I wish I can get one of those dump trailers. They are nice and save time and money. Saving up to get one for sure. Gotta start small and work your way up. Great video!!
The video is very disappointing. From start to finish it focused on two people talking instead of the equipment being talked about. I would rather prefer seeing enough details of the equipment and leave me to imagine how the equipment works. Instead of talking about the quick release fender why not demonstrate the operation of enhancing feature of special equipment of the trailer that set it apart in terms of preventing "jackknife" on sudden braking, if at all equipped, while negotiating a curve for example. Additionally, I like the video to inform me on the safety aspect of the hitch, brake system (tractor side & trailer side equipment), suspension, running gear component, and overall ease of maintenance.
