@@landscapingspecialist good idea but I dont think that would be a good choice of profession if that were the case 🤔 haha. I'd maybe choose something with a little less publicity.
Wow, Floe could have shown off their trailers to 17,000+ people in one shot. I think if I owned the company, I'd be looking for a salesman with a little more knowledge of how technology works today.
It always amazes me when I've encountered these kinds of sales staff that just don't see the potential benefit of "controlling the message" by giving you an informative, easy to understand breakdown of thier product, in a professional but otherwise friendly manner and are willing to answer any and all kinds of questions no matter how silly it might seem, all to ensure the potential buyer has all the information they need.... just like every single one of the other sales people Stanley spoke to did, before Don came on the scene. I used to be a salesman and the moment you said "maybe you'd like to give us more information about the product" and he said "no I'm not sure I want to" I was like - he should be fired. The right answer was "absolutely sir, it would be my pleasure and thanks for giving me the opportunity to showcase our fine trailers for you and your audience". I've forwarded this YT to Floe International with a tweet, be interesting if they respond or reach out to you Stanley.
He is afraid he will creatively edit and twist his words. E.g., if he ever answers NO or YES, he could splice the question to make it look bad. Do you have a QC issue- "YES!" Bottom line, he does not trust this guy or his motives.
The FLOE trailer guy being that cagey because of a camera causes me to wonder two things. 1. What have they been caught on camera lying about before? 2. What are they trying to hide? Those are the only two logical reasons someone wouldn't want to pitch their product to 650,000 subscribers.
The Floe interaction just proves that some presidents of companies are so far removed from their customer and the market that they do more harm than good and are way over paid. This president should hire a good marketing manager and let them do their job.
So after seeing the floe guy, every time I see them trailers I’ll think of that jackass. I wish you would’ve never blurred his face out when you do that. I feel like you shouldn’t even show the video.
They went from having an awesome lead source generator with entire groups of people interested in buying these products, to the same group of people who now will think twice and buy somewhere else a little more friendlier and helpful. That was a lot of fear on display. That reaction tells me that if I bought one of their trailers, once the sale was done, nothing but crickets would be heard.
I'm glad I saw this video. I know this is over a year old, but I "WAS" looking at Floe Trailers for a new project that I had fell into and thought they were a good fit. This representative made me realize I don't want to do business with them because of his attitude. Never the less I went with another company and ecstatic that I did. Thank you Dirt Monkey for saving me a bundle.
This guy and his demeanor makes me want to avoid his company. Seems to me he wasn't comfortable speaking about the features and benefits of his product to 650k people that are certainly his target consumers for one of two reasons: either his product doesn't have many features and benefits over his competitors or he BS's to the public about his product at these trade shows. Either way, his attitude makes it out like he doesn't want any wide visibility on what he does. Marketing fail. Stan's reaction (super cordial and even gives the rep another shot to regroup and try again) amplifies how bad the rep's interaction was. I would be surprised if the company doesn't reach out to Stan, after marketing does their "due diligence" lol Great video as always, Stan!
To be fair, he didn't know upwards of a million views were incoming. Stan could have been some rando jackass with ten subscribers for all he knew. He could have looked him up, and found out in five seconds though lol
Wow. That was a horrible experience and interaction with both of those representatives. I rewatched it several times because I could not believe it. You did a good job on keeping your cool.
When the owner watches this video and realizes his employee just made his product look bad on the most popular RU-vid channel in his field, that employee will be fired. If not, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and their marketing failures will continue - which is the demise of any business.
I went from "OH cool trailer! I wanna know more and may get one. To SCREW THAT PLACE AND THAT GUY", real fast. He acted like, youtube?! What is this witchcraft you speak of? Their loss for not seeing the big picture.
Did trade shows for about 30 years and would have been thrilled to have an opportunity to share my products/ solutions with social media / Hell man you’re doing all the work. Those guys blew it . That’s why I was there …

@@tombrandt9406 You have it backwards, the folding trailer guy is a marketer but what they need at a show is a sales rep. He lost it when he folded his arms, that shows a lack of confidence, and you can't sell something like that.
You always do a good job testing and showing us new products, would have been nice to see what they had to offer offer but hey it’s their loss and I won’t go looking them up just because of how they acted it’s almost as if they were hiding something, your the reason why tools ,equipment we wouldn’t consider buying or know about eventually end up in our hands

Why was he so concerned that Stan makes money off his videos? It almost was like he was looking for a way to profit off it and if he couldn't weasel something out of it then he wasn't "interested". Well, there actually was a way to profit from Stans video but he was so concerned about what someone else might be earning that he couldn't focus on making anything himself. 😃
Those trailers are top secret information. Not just anyone can walk up and take pictures….. oh, wait…. that’s the whole point of the trade show, my bad
Had a Aluminum trailer once before and never again , everywhere there was a Bolt running through Aluminum after 1 year the bolts wobbled the hole bigger and became unsafe . No matter the size they are to light and bounce down the road. Steal and heavy is the best .
I really don’t know what Grade the Aluminum was but was pretty much built with 1 1/2” to 6” steel bolts , it looked nice but after 1 years use it started making more noise going down the road hauling a Side By Side, you could grab most Bolts and shake them side to side ! Even in the thick wall tubbing on the under carriage the bolts Wobbled the holes ! Never really over loaded it or abused it but chuck holes in roadway or dirt roads pot holes really took a ponding on the Aluminum! After 1 year half use as is trailer I took it back to the Dealer that sold me the Side By Side and Trailer , the owner had the same thoughts as I , he said it’s not right and told me to leave it here so he can get the Trailer shop owner up to look at it , a week went by and received and call from Bike Shop , he said the owner won’t take it back and stuck it on the bike shop since they sold it to me !!! 1 day went by and received a call back from bike shop , the owner said he will give me 100 percent refund WOW cool . All said and done he dose not sell any more Aluminum Bike Trailers anymore !!! So if a guy picks one up used Aluminum Trailer make sure you check for out of round Bolt Holes !
I guess the "Marketing man" was not so good at marketing. 😂 "I'm on RU-vid, this is my audience", reply "I don't know what that is". What? Welcome to marketing prior to 2005. Sounds like someone isn't very trained in marketing for 2021. I usually all for the new / little guy in a market but with that kind of attitude, I have a tough time wishing him luck. Thanks for sharing. Many creators I follow wouldn't have even showed that much but for me it helps to see what you as a creator actually go through. @@OrionRoen Precisely. That interaction is nothing but warning flags, bells, all of it. Might be a fine trailer but I wouldn't give it a second look after that interaction.
I was almost interested in the Floe product - but a company that feels like they have to manipulate the media is not a company you want to work with. Sales guy do enough manipulation in just what information they share and don't share, but to try to put a choke hold on it, scummy and scammy. I am fascinated by that Adapt-X trailer.
Please don't let the actions of "Don" skew your interest in FLOE's products. FLOE employs many hard working folk in northern Minnesota. They would certainly appreciate your support of a purchase.
@@mikeruthford7849 Those workers should come together and hold him accountable. If Don owns the company, then they should quit and start their own trailer business together as he is clearly not a decent person to be around.
I’m really late here, but “you do that. Do your diligence. Smart man” is perhaps top 10 funniest RU-vid moments. Especially with your smirk. Thank you.
I am more inclined to purchase ANY of the other manufacturers trailers than one from Floe. If their marketing is that bad then what kind of quality are the trailers they make? Even if it’s top notch, the attitude of the employees, that one in particular, makes me look elsewhere.
The employees that manufacture FLOE products are cringing at Don's etiquette. Please reconsider the FLOE brand on account of the quality and hard work that they put into those products.

Not the best salesmen oof 😬. Thats really unfortunate for them. The others understood even if you dont like to be on camera this is your opportunity to reach way further than the trade show. Sales lost for sure just with the bad attitude but also the lost opportunity to hype their product. How would the customer service be if the sales people have this much attitude?
More views on this site in one day than people that came through the trade show in person. Sorry Floe, I would have been interested in the polymer trailer and only became aware after this video.

On behalf of EVERY OTHER Minnesota citizen, WE APOLOGIZE on Mr. Vandermey's behalf !!!
I have a Floe snowmobile trailer and it's a well made trailer! This video doesn't give me a good feeling if I would need any customer service from them though! I will also say that you have to be cautious about everything these days, because you never know what kind of scam someone is trying to pull and you can't blame him for being cautious. With that being said and you telling him what was going on, on & off camera, that guy blew his opportunity to showcase his products to a huge audience for free! On top of it made him and his company look bad. I'm betting he'd be offended if you started asking him financial questions about his business, but he apparently didn't think it was an issue asking you those questions. WOW!
Can't believe how tight arse that person was he is trying to advertise his trailer but don't want to give others to show there trailer. That's how they don't make the money. Great videos keep doing what your doing.
He’s probably the owners nephew, because he certainly isn’t a salesman. I owned a marketing firm, been to more of these shows than I care talk about and that guy did unimaginable damage to his brand by acting that way. As of now. There are 58 comments on this video and I’ve only seen one where the guy is standing up for the salesman. So I’m pretty sure Flow trailers will end up hearing about their terrible decision of a salesman one way or another.
With everything going with social media right now you guys can’t wrap your heads around why they want to know who’s promoting their equipment really? Clearly most of you have never been Business owners.
People are afraid of cameras. Every one loves to act like they are in charge. Many more accommodating manufacturers out there . Good Job shedding light on this one.
Sooo, I almost never comment on these things, finally do with a sweeping generalization about a guy I don't know, and I see that the guy apologized later on. Moral to the story, better to remain quiet and look smart than to speak and prove it aint so. The guys I knew would never apologize even with the evidence in front of them. Good on him for owning up to it.
Wow! I've had similar things happen before and it's always super awkward...mainly for them. I always say "they either get it or they don't.....and if they don't, it's a big loss on their end". Cheers brother
The situation was a little awkward, only because I think we're all embarrassed for the president's ignorance, but Stan handled it very smoothly live. What is the company president doing at the trade show if he isn't willing to pitch the product to hundreds of thousands of potential customers?
The whole time I was watching the video, I was thinking how lucky each company was to get so much free advertising. Then the last guy looks a gift horse in the mouth. That was painful to watch
I expected the next words out of that guy's mouth to be like, "I don't know what this MeTube is all about but it's illegal to film me without my permission." He seems destined to stay in charge of A very small plastic trailer company.
It’s funny how that one guy is the only one that doesn’t want a RU-vidr to help plug. We as consumers and customers wonder what is he hiding or what is he not up to date with how things are sold these days.
He probably didn't want to thinking you would try to tarnish his name. That's the only possible thing I could think off lol. I mean why wouldn't you want to.
You can tell a lot about company culture from their employees. I bet their customer service is bad too. No purchase from me. That transformer trailer was the highlight of the show IMO.
The transformer trailer is reasonably. Bing searching for a trail to carry our kayaks. If you price the Yakima kayak trailer you'll find this a steal. I gotta check it out. Thanks for putting it out there!!
Love the trailer content Stan! Ps; Not sure where this guy thought he was….but the ENTIRE idea of a trade show is to allow manufacturers to get their product out there, photos, video, word-of-mouth. And in this digital age we’re in, what you were doing is exactly what participants of the trade show want.

That’s where GVW differs from GVWR. What's the difference between GVWR and GVW? The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum amount of weight the trailer is able to safely hold and transport, as rated by the manufacturer. Those dump bins need a simple built-in scale that lets you know when the weight limit is reached. Helps customers get the most out of the bin and protects the operator and his equipment.
Not really practical to put a scale on the box, too easy to damage the load cells. A scale on the trailer would be a good option, that's how the big roll off trucks do it.
