Follow along as I show you how to segment knot one of my most current favorite patterns EVER: the diamond illusion! This fun and trippy pattern consists of only forward knots and backward knots, making it a bit easier for those who are transitioning into the more intermediate level of bracelet making!

To do a dark-to-light gradient with two different colors (for example, multiple blues and multiple oranges), how would one set up the strings effectively? Would it simply be dark to light 1-2-3 with one color and then dark to light 4-5-6 with the next color? I absolutely *adore* the dark to light gradients for this pattern, especially after seeing so many more on Bracelet Book, and I'd love to end up doing one like that (provided I can find string in the right colors...

As long as you started the bracelet at that sort of chevron section just before the diamond (starting at the outermost left and right side at Row 3 then doing that chevron), you would do dark to light with the first color, but I personally like the look of then going light to dark with the second color. The color order kinda flows a bit better that way in my opinion. 🙂 But this pattern is so fun to experiment with! It looks so beautiful with gradients.

I mentioned towards end of the video that I like to pull on the edges of my bracelet a little bit before starting the next set to help that. Keeping somewhat looser (but still firm) tension also keeps it less bumpy

I do have a question so every time I do a bracelet of any pattern with chevron in it the left side always looks perfect but the right side is almost a mess. Do you know why? Also a beautiful pattern! And a great tutorial!

Are you right handed or do you at least know right handed? Maybe it’s a bit more wonky because your tension might be different without you knowing when making backward knots?

If you do a gradient color scheme how would that work from dark to lightest? How would you set up the strings?

That’s what I was hoping having a rainbow order would help 😅 You would just order the strings 1-6 but with first color being the darkest to the sixth color being your lightest

It pretty much is but you just go backwards. You could check if Masha Knots has a video on it but I don’t know that I’ve seen an actual full tutorial

Do u have a link for doing the shaped start for the reverse chevron? Like the one u have here? U said u posted the link but I don’t see it. I may be missing it....🤷🏼‍♀️
