This is a shocking and disturbing development in Zambia's political landscape! The Speaker's decision to declare nine parliamentary seats vacant and call for by-elections is a blatant disregard for the democratic process and the rule of law. The expulsion of these MPs was already a controversial issue, and now the Speaker's refusal to recognize Miles Sampa's renunciation of the expulsion and the alleged lack of knowledge about the Constitutional Court process, raises serious questions about the integrity and impartiality of the National Assembly's leadership. Holding by-elections for nine seats at once will not only be a logistical nightmare but also a waste of resources. It's a clear example of political manipulation and a attempt to further destabilize the opposition. This decision has the potential to undermine the stability of Zambia's democracy and sets a dangerous precedent for the future.
