Diamond is Untouchable! The JOJOLands Chapter 4 Review 

At first I wasn’t sure if the hustle could even be used to fight, but it looks like paco can be quite the grappler

The diamond truly is unbreakable

I find it funny how it parallels the Black Sabbath fight of part 5. The bad boss gives the Jojo a "simple" mission and the Part 4 member starts out antagonistic at first, before working with the jojo to defeat the stand. I wonder if a polnereff stand-in also appears to aid Jodio from the shadows.

Rohan was soo terrifying in this chapter

Glad you also enjoyed what Araki did with The Hustle this chapter. Honesty way more creative and unique than I initially thought. Gives me hope that November Rain will also get more creative use cases in the future.

Another thing I think we're overlooking is how Rohan is seemingly perfectly able to hold and "tame" the diamond, whereas the gang can't

my favorite part of this chapter is the fact the entire community was saying "Rohan gonna whoop the jojolands crew in under 5 minutes" AND HE LITERALLY DOES EXACTLY THAT lmao idk it was the highlight of the chapter for me.

Despite how weird he is I like how Usagi seems to have the most experience in a stand fight out of the whole group so far, considering he was the first one to point out the stand attack and who the user might be. Feels like he's smarter than everyone gives him credit for. It could even be a fun running gag where Usagi figures out the stand while the others (especially Paco) never take him seriously until they find out for themselves

Love seeing Rohan going back to his roots of beating up teenagers and reading all of their secrets and their lives

I think the diamond itself comes from a specific volcano that Rohan is trying to identify, hence all the different lava samples. The one in the safe matches the diamond, so he's figured out which volcano it came from and now he just has to go there. I bet the gang will "give up" and end up tailing Rohan to the volcano, where everything really kicks off for the part. So maybe 3 more months before the volcano stuff gets going? Idk, but I'm loving Part 9!

This chapter gave me more respect to rohan (which was already pretty high) and also proves that Josuke is really strong for beating rohan.

Really want a bit where the diamond is about to be destroyed but doesn't break and rohan exclaims "That diamond... is unbreakable"

I feel like part 9 has maybe the best first couple chapters of any part. So fun to read!

One arc I think might happen this part is Jodio becoming more of a leader since currently has been assigned a scout, has a somewhat underwhelming stand, and is the junior of the group. Honestly if I had to geuss the main JoJo without knowing the names I'd assume it's Dragona.

Calling it now - Rohan's brought the Diamond to Hawaii to destroy it in a volcano. He was experimenting with the volcanic rock to see if it could beat it or something.

The diamond, an object having supernatural properties reminds me of “Rohan Goes to Gucci” where he has his grandmother’s Gucci bag that had a stand-like ability that makes anything enter it vanish.

For some reason, I'm sure that Rohan will somehow use the gang's skills to his advantage, and unite with them in the end. They will have a common goal, but it is not yet clear what exactly will interfere with them and for what reason. Looking forward to incredible plot twists and comebacks from jojolion

This chapter really cements my love for Paco’s character and stand since I already guessed he could use it not just to steal, I really hope he does not die by the end cause that would make me really sad lol.

Rohan’s gonna serve as Jodio’s mentor, setting him on the right path.

So i have a theory regarding Usagi. And after reading this Chapter, Im somewhat convinced. So remember how everyone early on noticed that Jodio, despite being an AU Giorno, but with the addition of aspects similar to Diavolo. (Psychopathy, enjoys selling drugs and making money) Well I theorize that Usagi is and AU Diavolo/Doppio (Stand is in reference to King Crimson), but with aspects of Giorno. 1. The first hint is his introduction, for starters, he's seen wanting to buy drugs from Giorno, but afterwards, hes seen abruptly being invited into the crew in favor of their boss. This is similar to how Giorno was introduced to Buccellati's gang. 2. Both his name and stand ability. If we hear his name, 'Usagi Alohaoe' we notice two things his last name is in reference to Aloahoe a song and term referencing Hawaii, but his first name is noticable as it's japanese. I think Usagi was born in Japan and something happened, resulting in one of his parents remarrying, but to a Hawaiian native, and moving to Hawaii as a result. Kinda like how Giorno is also born as part Japanese, but when his mom remarried, they moved to Italy. His stand may be a clue as Matte Kudasai is a song about a woman waiting for her husband, only for the man to remarry while away on a trip. This could signify that maybe Usagi was caught up in a situation like this but with his parents. 3. Finally he seems to know more about Stands. Despite his fun laid back demeaner, he understands more about who can have stands. Which makes me think that The Matte Kudasai, can do so much more that Usagi is keeping to himself. Kinda like how Giorno didnt give away what his full ability was when he started in the gang. This also tells me that he's potentially been in Stand battles as well. Just my thoughts based on what Ive seen EDIT: Extra tidbit. Finally Id like to point out that despite Jodio having some qualities of Giorno, such as the heart and wings, he lacks one thing the ladybug. This makes sense because in Part 5 where it took place in Italy, ladybugs over there are considered good luck. Usagi's name, meaning rabbit, has some significance regarding luck as well considering they represent, fortune, moving foreward, and cleverness. Fortune is literally part of Jodios goal. Not to mention, as Giono was able to help Buccellati and his gang move foreward, Usagi could play the same roll. Their ability introductions also have similarities. Before Giorno revealed the full extent of Gold Experience, at first glance, they think, "Oh I see your ability can make things transform". And how did The Matte Kudasai get introduced? Why as a stand that can can transform into useful items. This could imply Usagi, could have an ulterior motive joining the gang in Part 9 and that his Stand is so much stronger than we thought initially.

the panel of rohan walking toward paco was also a callback to dio and jotaros stand-off

If the Diamond is moving on its own and it’s connected to the lava rocks then that might explain why his lab has them all over the floor; these little bastards won’t sit still and make a mess of the place.

Never realised until this chapter when araki drew a closeup of dragona that his headband is a giorno reference

I loved that right after Rohan knocks Usagi, in the next panel Dragona is looking a lot like Giorno, with those flowers in their head

I still wanna know if this Rohan is different. Like I love the idea of a multiverse.

2 things I really want to say: 1. Seeing people talk about how bad The Hustle was before now was driving me nuts as I could think of tons of great uses and fighting styles for it before this chapter that I guess lots of people just couldn't. Imagine if Paco could physically change his appearance by contorting his muscles, hiding objects over a layer of muscle, create protruding limb-like objects away from his body and much more. So glad we're seeing just how cool this stand can be. 2. All of these interactions with Rohan and the Diamond and how he is treating it is really feeling like a 'Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe' story so I wonder if Araki is taking some inspiration or continuing how he writes those stories into the main Jojo story. Maybe introducing and following more supernatural entities than just stands, ghosts, spirits and the like. Maybe this will introduce a main villain that does not follow the same sort of "structure" as the past ones? Maybe the main villain will be a spirit or a god or something like that instead of a person? That's probably a long-shot but it is fun to think about

My understanding of november rain is that the water drops get the weight of the objects jodio touches. If my theory is correct then the November rain will be excessively strong if it has a high limit. 1. the weight of all the air in the world (impossible not to touch) 2. the weight of the entire planet 3. the weight of the sea 4. probably all can be combined.

Part 7, 8, and 9 was about chasing stuff, the saints corps, roacacaka fruit, and this diamond

I think the diamond could be a strange compass of some kind cause the way it was moving away from the main cast could mean it’s trying to lead them to something involving the rocks

Araki for like past 3 parts is making strange things important as in part 7 holy corpse in part 8 rocacaca and in part 9 lava rocks

The discoballad intro is so good

The diamond reminds me of part 7 alternate universe where they are looking for diamonds (when Valentine drags Diego with D4C) so there could be a connection or just random stuff that happen to both parts.

Here's a cool idea Xforts. I think these lava rocks will have some connection to "calamity" and the concepts of positive and negative energy flow that both part 7 and 8 seemed to have a big focus on. My reasoning is because, as someone from Hawaii, it's a common superstition and belief here that lava rocks or any piece of land are the children of the fire goddess Pèlè. And that taking these rocks as personal keepsakes off the island brings only bad luck and misfortune from her wrath. The only solution of which being to bring the land back to where you found it and apologizing to the goddess. Perhaps during Araki's trip to the islands studying the culture and folklore he took inspiration from this and is reworking it to fit the context of his story.

I wonder if it ever dawns on you that you, xForts, are probably just as much a part of this new "JOJOLands" experience for many people as the chapters themselves are. Like for me, I always watch your review videos as soon as I can after reading the chapter. You're like a guide holding my hand through this whole journey. (that sounds weird)

I'm really excited to see who the counterparts of the Jojolands crew are. Dragona looks like Ermes to me, but role wise shouldn't he be Bucciarati? Is Paco Mista? Is Usagi Doppio? Narancia? None of them have a simple 1:1 clear counterpart so I'm really interested to see who they all are meant to be. Is Jodio just Giorno? Or is he Jolyne too? Is there some Joeseph in there? I'm fascinated.

I like that Paco got to show more of what the Hustle can do. I always figured out that when his ability is flesh/body manipulation, he can potentially do some wild things like climbing or hiding in places that is just not possible as normal human. There is also the fact that since his Stand is integrated into him, he can touch and fight stands with his bare hands. I don't know about you, but this is a great surprise advantage for stand users who just believes that he is a normal human.

I was just watching your "all stands in Steel ball run" video again... during the introduction of D4C it is mentioned, that the corpse parts are replaced with diamonds in other dimentions... and since some people moved over from their dimention to the main one (Diego), maybe they held one of those diamonds and they still have some stand-like abilities

The principal is most definitely the main antagonist and knows what they are getting the cast into

In Breaking Bad The Use of Children to do the dirty work of the real criminals is something shown. I think they are being used as a distraction so the real thief can take the Diamond.

I really hope jojolands mirrors not onlu rohan introduction but also his defeat by the hands of the protagonist. Like we saw Jodio pretty angry when the policeman was *touching* Dragona, if Jodio sees his brother on the ground i think we gonna get the "He's blinded by rage" moment.

I'm thinking that, if the lava rocks are like devil palms/stand arrows, then the diamond is like the arrow in the same way we see it with P4 Kira and P5 Polnarref and Giorno. Both seem to grant stands, and have the ability to be somewhat sentient. It can fall out of one's hands (like how it did with King Crimson) and can move on its own (like with P4 and Gold Experience). And if it can grant a stand ability, it could be the key to the second piercing we see in parts 4 and 5 to evolve the stand. Of course, this is merely a speculation.

At first I thought the lavas were connected to the rock humans and I despised the idea, "not again!" But it seems that they don't have much correlation which is reassuring since I want Araki to move onto something more fresh and interesting. What if the cat is an alternate Iggy, it seems to have that Egyptian cat look. Oh well.

the lava rocks are a lesser form of a blessing but remember that a diamond is just a pressurized form of carbon and the lava rocks being a less pressured form. The diamond must contain a concentrated power thus its sense of "gravity" would be VERY strong so I think the biggest risk isn't rohan but whatever that diamond truly is.

alright so REALLY crazy theory, the diamond is gonna be somehow related to the corpse. Back in chapter 74 of Steel Ball Run, in one panel there was a Valentine that told Diego that in their current world was that they were after DIAMONDS, not the corpse. So either this is the universe where they were after diamonds, or those diamonds were somehow brought to the universe where the main JoJo's are.

I think things may look more simple than you put it There is a third party looking for the diamond as well. The enemy stand user group, and the cat is their first member we get to see. It makes much sense from a storytelling point of view, how Araki sorta speedruned some of the most recognizable jojo plot threads so far (not only a jojo but an entire, complete main cast introduced in chapter 1. first time in the series actually, excluding part 7 and 8 which had a duo). The enemy group might manage to steal the diamond while rohan is fighting jodio. Then rohan tells the truth about diamond to the gang and maybe even begins to cooperat with them to retake it. Also - unpopular theory I see - but it might be not the diamond that is untachable but just another member of the enemy group using their ability which maybe even is flow based like Love Train or WoU, since those two scenes with he diamond getting away seem to keep a smiliar misterious tension

Crackpot Theory: The cat is the Stand of the Diamond. Also the stand name for the rope is probably going to be "Walk the Line" or something like that. I have no basis for these theories and I am not taking questions at this time, thank you.

I have a theory that is extremely crackpot-y, but in part 7 it was established that the "Base" Universe/Dimemsion was the only one with the corpse parts, and the other verses had diamonds in place of them. What if, and this is where it gets crackpot-y, the universe that parts 1-6 take place in have a Devil's Palm and that's where some diamonds where located. Rohan found one of them, and we can only assume this but it's fun to do that, and the diamond had strange properties and studied it, then figured some stuff out about The Spin, and in part 7 we see Johnny kinda wormhole himself through the spin. What if Rohan found a way to do that in some fashion? Could he wormhole himself to a new universe? I guess we'll find out, but it's fun to theorize

i still think it’s very possible rohan will join the gang. we know how araki loves rohan so i doubt he’d want to feature him in a few chapters and get rid of him again. i can see jodio somehow outsmarting rohan and getting him into a situation where rohan tells them what he’s actually doing in hawaii and from there they have to help him for one reason or another

Rohan moves Everyone: why do we hear final boss music ?

People in all the community wishing to be bombarded with intricate concepts, returning this, foreshadowing that, theorizing Maan i just want my wacky stand shenanigans and I'm glad this chapter was that. Not that i hate the former, but with the latter i don't feel my brain melting

I feel like the explanation for the diamond is very simple: Rohan used Heaven's Door on it, and wrote "Nobody but Rohan can hold me." Or something similar.

In part 7 didn't Funny Valentine say that in all other dimensions the corpse parts are replaced with diamonds? What if the world that Jojolands takes place in is one of these dimensions where the holy corpse is just several diamonds,and the diamond that we see in Rohan's villa is actually a corpse part which is why it seems to be supernatural...
