Honestly this anime is for people who have a lot of patience. I saw some people who tried to watch and then they drop it at season 1 because of 'slow' and frustrating development. They're so unfortunate because this anime is so good. I'm glad that I have a lot of patience. If not, I would've miss it.
@@_u0nda928 IKRRRR he literally went from unable to control his pitch to crushing the batters with his "numbers" and fastballs!!!!! I feel so bas for those who didn't continue on to watch the show because they don't know how satisfied it is to see him crushing the batters.
That's the thing tho, he used to only see Eijun as a relief pitcher. And honestly he should say sorry 🙄✋🏽 poor sawamura works so hard for that recognition and constantly saves games when furuya is unreliable.
Although I agree he should have trusted sawamura more , it's understandable. Sawamura is a risky bet because if by chance he throws one easy ball the opponents will smash a home run. His pitching isn't fast , his control wasn't great in the early episodes either. If furuya were to mess up he might give away walks but it is not easy to hit runs off of his balls. Basically if sawamura were to mess up a single ball he would be punished mercilessly by opponents while furuya might overpower them even if he made a mistake. So risk with furuya is less.
@@simplyxarmani4475 I mean I remember in episode 3 or 4 he said to Rei that he thought sawamura had more potential than both furuya and kawakami, however I think he forgot his initial opinion as he saw furuya become an ace right before his eyes and forgot about sawamura and viewed him as a reliever. The scene where his eyes open up is a reminder to him about his initial opinion and how he messed up by forgetting about sawamura’s immense potential and leaving furuya in the game for too long. At least that is my opinion
I literally feel how Sawamura feels here. He's already frustrated beforehand of being treated as a secondary pitcher and how different their treatment is from Furuya as the ace. Sawamura gets prioritized less, having to compete for Miyuki's time, and to prove his worth as a pitcher to the coach. Sawamura is only entertained when the team is in a bind and they have no other choices left. If he doesn't perform well when Furuya is useless then he is no value to the team. He's always the pitcher that cleans up after the team. So I understand why he got angry. Nobody would want to be taken for granted and shows appreciation to you only when they have no one else to turn to. It's a very frustrating situation to be in and I admire how maturely Sawamura handled it. Focusing instead in improving himself so he could be more noteworthy for the team. 😥
the frustration built up from the national game with him knowing full well how much better furuya was and then him having amazing growth and then Miyuki and Kataoka both sacrificing the team and tournament for Furuya and finally Kataoka saying you had to save us sorry like it wasnt your job but well done i hated them both during this match Kataoka and Miyuki love the reaction from our cheetah sama though
@@nighttimsina6381 oh man the dislike I had towards Miyuki and Kataoka at the time. Nowadays though I kinda get it: Furuya dropped massive performances at Koshien so they understandably were prioritising him more, but were blinded by that so much that it took Kataoka too long to change pitchers. Then Sawamura kept putting in great game after great game and he was finally rewarded for it. Daiya no Ace really demanded a lot of patience from its readers as we went through Sawamura's struggles from a guy with no grasp of the game's basics to someone that every school started to be very cautious about, and when the payoff happened it was SO satisfying haha.
@@adikkuchanDude! And what frustrated me more was the fact they keep misunderstanding sawamura until someone spells it out for them like stop overlooking at a guy that you guys say had the most potential. What I hate more is they keep putting him in the most distressful situation because they don't want to ruin someone else's mentality while not catering for his needs fk it still pains me to watch sawamura deal with his yips on his own and if it wasn't for Chris-senpai he would have rotted and quitted and what's more annoying is the fact that they didn't show much appreciation for kariba in helping him deal with the yips like dude that supporting catcher really needs more screen time hahahaha
@@npicg202 Not anytime soon, I believe there isn't enough material in the manga to cover the new season and the problem is that at the moment it's on hiatus, last chapter was released 20th of June, I believe we might be couple of years away
@@almaguzman805 Yea :( , we have to wait patiently, I am sure the author will pick the manga up and we'll get a new season when time comes, for me it's even more time to wait because I like to binge watch the whole season, the last one I haven't watched any episode until it was over, and it usually takes 1+ year for it to end if it has again like 50 eps
@@iRaphahell The author will very likely continue publishing new chapters on August 4. But the I guess he needs around one year before finishing the next competition, and the anime needs content more than that. So, it is true that we may need to wait for a few more years :(
the irony here is that the coach had said earlier in the series "I am not going to sacrifice the rest of the team just for 1 pitcher" when the new assistant coach suggested just going all in on Furuya. Yet he did literally exactly that and refused to sub out Furuya until it was too late and even the assistant coach who wanted to go all in said he needed to get subbed out before it was too late
Yeah fr he put too much trust to furuya which is kinda understandable to a certain point cause he an ace. But still fucking sawamura the mc, coach gotta put some respect on that name
@@himaya-relaxsleep1410 Doesn’t change the fact that that was hypocritical. Either way there’s a difference between believing in your ace and just being plain stupid.
I was basically all kinds of hype when I first saw this in my dorm room! I was just so proud of him! ❤️🙌🏾 He's been through so much so it was finally his time to shine! Hurry up season 4 so I can see more of his growth!!!😄💖😁⚾🧢
Yh it was the result of all his hard work. But tbh if furiya didn't deserve it his quality dropped dramatically since nationals as u can tell from this match
I feel the same. I've mixed feelings during this scene. I know Kataoka coach wants to nurture Furuya's pitching to another level (after read Furuya's book) but his choice made the whole team lost. 1 mistakes lead to another. I feel so sad for Eijun
Yeah that's why Sawamura was annoyed and/or sad when Boss said sorry to him. Pointing out Sawamura's later remarks that he wasn't good enough to be trusted.
It makes it much worse if you think about the fact that sawamura was subbed in with 3 batters on base and no outs. Sure it made for a great overcoming moment but but a sub all together
I mean in manga the coach said he saved the team and "Sorry you had to" Sawamura was so freaking pissed coz he said the coach doesn't need to apologize and when they lost he realized that the ace have more exposure and everything that even tho the ace messed up, they won't pull him out of the inning and he said if it was him, one mistake and he's out. So when he got the Number 1, I was really happy like, "Go boy, claim it!!!! And never ever remove it from your back. Lead the team!!!!"
Act 2 Season 2 going to be fantastic, I am reading manga and Sawamura is Monster Now. you're going to love it, Just don't get mad on writer cause Sawamura kinda FC*ked up on first match because that's his first match as an Ace but after that, He is going to Show us How good he is as an Ace and I think he is going to be Captain on his Third Year too.
Really felt that the reason Sawamura sucked in Koshien was due to Kataoka taking him out in that last inning. But, nevertheless that's what makes watching Act II even sweeter.
They said that it was due to his velocity increasing as well, so his pitch weren't really stable, and it actually make sense. But yeah, switching him out on that inning was a total dick move
Well, Coach had to play with everything in order to beat that team. Everything in this anime has been amazing and so key to Eijuns growth, cant wait for next season!
@@blueoneversion6977 Yes, it's still halfway a match and pretty sure they will want to adapt until Seidou reaches nationals and I guess 50 chapters more
Yes I know that narumiya is better than sawamura but what I want to say is if sawamura have good middle hs baseball team maybe he will be a skilled pitcher better than narumiya and others pitcher in dna. :)
@If that idiot dies I'll kill him I'm really proud and happy when ichidaisan start to be worried about Sawamura. They acknowledge him as another dangerous pitcher. And damn he only gave ichidasan 1 run. He's on his way to become unhittable, sooo proud of him :))
At first I'm reluctant to give this series a chance because he keeps giving me a second hand embarrassment but now this is my most favorite realistic sports anime. I love his character development and the story is unpredictable. Not your typical always win protagonist story.
I feel you...I always skip the part where he tries to sneak into the line up whenever i rewatch 🤣 I still cringe whenever he makes loud claims of his skills.
@@caca-bb3fd his loud claims actually grown upon the members and they now responds positively 😅... He was always ridiculed back in the days but as he grew more as a player and became beast mode in the pitching mound, all his members would feel weird if he is dead silence 😆
His scream after the second strikeout and the face of the coach and the word he tells him… man goosebumps every time when I watch this! Eijun’s path is literally one of the best I ever watch and it’s all worth to be Patient and watch all of him trust me! Stand with both feed on the ground and walk step by step!!
I remember when I read this in the manga I was actually hoping for Seidou to lose because of how long it took for Furuya to get switched out and I was getting tired of the lack of appreciation Sawamura was getting from saving their asses so much
That is right and in the nationals they don't even let him play in the game so that the clown ace can pitch first of all if not for sawamura they will not be on that nationals in the first place always favoring the clown ace yes he perform while but they loss in that game!!!! And they comeback the clown ace always messing up during games then who is the one cleaning up the mess its my baby boy eijun so I will say this I am confused right now if they are really recognize sawamura as the ace of the team or he is just a substitute because the clown ace is injured miyuki don't even yet give his recognition to sawamura so when it is ahh...
The bases are loaded, 1 Out, clean up hitter's turn. That's a worst case scenario to get switched in as a pitcher, but Sawamura throw the ball just 6 times and ended the inning. What a legend.
The game that made everyone realized Seido is not about Furuya, and Furuya, too, notice someone behind is going to overtake him cause he is never running alone, everyone in the team has been running with him...
I don't get why this anime not as famous as the others like Haikyuu!!. It's almost the same. Moreover the Animation of Diamond no Ace is constant without wavering. Also baseball is very popular in Japan as well. The story line of Diamond no Ace is brilliant as well. Then why the hell is it not as famous as it is supposed to be....???
Yeah i mean WTF? Top notch Animation, story, characters and still so underrated. Stuff like Demon slayer is getting so much attention with a mediocre story.
I'm crying😭this anime is this good‼️ Hands down #1 sports anime, the heck it's even in the top list of favourite anime all time❤️I just love this 😭😭😭y is this so underated
Sawamura highly relate to the quote " there is no effort without error and shortcoming." and i am glad i stick by this anime and now the manga cause Sawamura motive me so much.
He's so reliable in tight situations like this and he already proved that many times! Really deserve the ACE title. I just started this anime recently and I'm at it's second season but I just can't help but search YT for spoilers like this hahahaha. Such a shame this anime is not being hyped enough. And tbh, it now dethroned Haikyuu as my fave sports anime. So glad I found and started this gem. So excited to start Act II very soon to see more action and I'm looking forward for Sawamura-Okumura battery. Hopefully they'll give us Season 4 soon too. Edit: Just finished Act II last week and I can't contain my excitement for the next season. I'm reading the manga now. 💓
I rewatch this anime too many damn times. It may not be the best for others but it has always been my favorite sports anime and been like that for years. *Don't get me started on Haikyuu, I enjoyed it but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me.
I personally like DNA more than Haikyuu It just shows the real struggle of someone rising from the ashes from the rock bottom and a little touch of drama just bring realistic elements more than many other sports anime I hope people give it the hype it deserves
Tbh in that aspect Haikyuu is the same lol and imo there’s a few scenes in Daiya that were a bit overdramatic, that’s why I prefer Haikyuu but love Daiya as well.
@@seraji3799 Not as descriptive or elements that wouldn't be overdoing things And what you like wasn't even the point nor I described for people to state why they like Haikyuu or challenged the principles I just wrote why I find DNA to be more realistic than Haikyuu
@@fallzero7304 My point was that Haikyuu also describes the struggles that the MC experiences and his development was gradual which is very realistic compared to other shounen sports animes where the characters go from 0 to 100 real quick lol. The struggles in Haikyuu are different but nothing short of realistic. And I disagree, those struggles were very descriptive and relatable to me, especially when they originate from simple things like the moral from the ballboy arc (“to climb a ladder, you must start at the bottom”); struggles don’t always come from losing a competition. I don’t have a problem with you preferring Daiya, I respect your opinions and I agree with what you said about Daiya, I was just saying that Daiya isn’t the only anime with those realistic elements.
this was so frustrating to watch. while ik why the coach didnt sub out furuya sooner, i felt eijuns anger & insecurities rising. this was a really big turning pt for eijun bc his frustration couldve either made him or break him and in the end, he proved tht not only is he a reliable pitcher, he’s someone who can turn the mood of the game just by his presence. also, kudos to the male reporter who told ppl to remember eijuns name. he knew potential when he saw it
This anime is very much like Slam Dunk, a noisy protagonist but a fast learner and a persistent one and also his team guys reminds me of old Shohoku team. Its a different sport anime but the bond is the same.
@@ashgreninja8605 you got some point dude but don't get me wrong its just my opinion and what I totally think of him, Maybe one day he may became the best pitcher in the mound.
@@jedlee1610 I know it is you opinion bro but he his not a fast learner they just skip the training he puts in they just can't show whole 20min his training only right
@@ashgreninja8605 your right man its full of flashbacks and I thought that he is as fast learner as I thought he also puts into work so he learned it with time skip but his form and wind up he quickly realize how to use his flexibillity thats how I thought his that fast bloomer, And thats why I think he is, of course his the MC.
This is one of my favourite anime as this anime shows proper growth not only for sawamura but also for other team members but you have to be patient he won't become good instantly and he will also mess up in many situation but believe me you will enjoy it.
watched diamond no ace first. then watched the whole major series. then will try to rewatch this again i got to say, it's a alot different than when i watch diamond the first time.
i swear!! next season is gonna be lit as fuck!! yakushi vs ichidai and ichidai vs seidou rematch then the upcoming matches damn!! so much hype!! i cant fuckin wait,, this anime will shocked the world THE SPORTS WORLD!! and it will be better than any sports anime genre but not to slam dunk or maybe they surpass this too, who knows? this anime has so much potential, lets spread this anime so it will have many seasons!!! ACE OF DIAMOND THE GOAT!!
I liked this show as well but I chose to drop it as I get really annoyed how all the people worships Furuya. Yeah yeah, he's got some good games and is really good but seeing how the MC is getting the "turn the blind eye" treatment is really annoying. People be like: oh no, we're about to lose. Coaches and players: Eijun, warm yourself and get in the mound then save the day. After Eijun saves the day People: good job furuya, he's got a bright future
When i read the manga i was so amazed, he did something amazing, actually too amazing, Chris always saying this scenario, and Sawamura passed this scenario in real life, but what amazed me more is the numbers.
Haikyuu is good and all, but no where close to this anime. Just run a marathon and you will know which scenes replay more on your mind when you are on a pinch. It’s DNA!
Diamond Ace Act 2 Season 2 Realistic Release Date : Fall 2023 or Winter 2024 The diamond ace act 2 anime season 1 covers volume 1 - 18 with 52 episodes and a few filler episodes. The anime ended with less than 100 chapters from where the manga is right now. Based on the manga release , we get no more than 30- 45 chapters a year with occasional breaks and holidays. If we look at the range of episodes (51 - 75) for each season released , To have another 52 episodes for season 2 we need to wait at least 3 - 5 years
Bro, I am just mad how he doesn't realize how good he is. He is always doubting himself when he should relax and focus on his pitches. And I wish Chris was a coach or something like that because out of everyone he is the only person who can lift up Sawamura.
The character are alive. I am a sports genre anime mania and I would vouch on my honor as anime fans for almost 15 years, the character in Diamond no Ace is real. Sports anime sometimes only focus on sport or superficial relationship but not the character itself. By character I did not mean his sport skills. If you watch daiya you will understand how alive the characters are. That is why I love long run anime as the character evolution are just amazing. It builds up every episode. This anime, Daiya no Ace is the best ever sports anime. I have watch almost all but this is the best.
I’m so proud of Eijun, all his hardships paid off☺️ If you guys like baseball , watch Majors and One outs , I totally recommend this if you haven’t watched it yet
When i watch this episode im so frustrated that i cry. I know that Furuya is talented and so called genius but aren't the coach trusting him too much? And when they're on edge Sawamura always have to pick clean up Furuya mess. Like wtf?! I thought the coach have to be fair, but seems like he's not. Fuck! Im still fucking mad thinking about this episode! (Sorry for the bad English)
