Yeah, I do like Ali Express, but as it's basically just a front for lots of individual stores it's a bit of a minefield what you're going to get when trying a new vendor. When you find a good one though, you love them and hug them and keep them close LOL Hi 😺
Agree with the AliExpress sentiments. Just got a custom from EverMoment and it looks amazing!! And ordered specialty drills from 2 different shops and am happy with the squares from one of them at first quick glimpse.
😂There are things that money could be better spent on, like hot pink house paint or pink glitter nail polish 🩷😂 I tried to convince my hubs that the small tear in my car seat means that it's time to upgrade, but he told me to deal with it. I will kick him in his sleep later as punishment 😂
I guess I haven't done enough paintings to know the difference between resin and acrylic; how do you know? I have done a couple of Leisure Arts (Diamond Dotz) kits as a trial to see if I liked the craft and maybe those were acrylic? Do they seem a little "plastic-y"? Are resin the more faceted diamonds that you get in higher-end kits? Will it usually say on the box or in the description? 🤔🧐
The higher end kits, DAC, Dreamer Designs, etc use resin. They are more uniform in size, especially in squares. Some kits will say if they are resin since they can charge more for them 😂 If the drills have a little hole in the bottom, like an indent, then they are probably acrylic. If some of them have a curved inside back, like a chocolate mould that didn’t get filled all the way, then they are resin. I’m not sure if diamond dotz is acrylic or not.
Could you maybe get the budget canvas you like and just use your spare resins to do it instead of the provided acrylics? Ps step off my type A personality woman! "My brain is a little Mushy right now, so..." - Crafty-ish Kristyn 8/2024 (I'm honored! MY brain is a little Kristyn right now so...) 🙃
