One of the most underrated Honky Tonkin’ songs ever. The musicianship and those harmonies. The conceit of the mirror left behind reminding him why he’s the loneliest fool of all as he’s laying in bed wallowing in sorrow. Just a great song by a great band start to finish.
Amen. They were perfection. I love some of the current country, but man I'm so thankful for RU-vid so we can still listen to any older groups! I really miss the 90s because of artists just like Rio. They simply ruled that decade!
Dam 34 years old here. Brings me back to my childhood listening to this in moms Pontiac parisienne. Will be stuck in my head and soul forever!!!! True the harmonies in this song are amazing......
For Real! They ruled the 90s and I miss them so much! Thank God for RU-vid where we can listen to any band/artist, any genre, any time era. RU-vid IS the shit!! Can't imagine my life without it!!
My dad wrote this as a poem in a bar in Union City Tn. He had a friend who was an aspiring song writer in Nashville. He gave him the poem and he turned it into this song. Really Cool!
Didn't know Diamond Rio had such an interesting history. Started out as an in-house band for Opryland in the eighties? How cool is that? And then to go on to be one of the greats of 90s country?
This band had it all, and the best part was they all were from diverse backgrounds Brian, Dan and Jimmy were the backbone of the band's musical sound, while Marty's vocal sound was amazing, and having Dana and Gene singing harmony made them even better
LIke you ALL and love listening to you all over again remembering the moments spent listening to your music on the Aviano US air base radio where I grew up. Angela, Italy :)
Top band of the 90s. They ruled the decade! Miss them so much. SO GRATEFUL for RU-vid so we can ALL go find our faves from ANY band/artist, ANY genre, ANY time period. I can't imagine my life without RU-vid!! In 10-20 yrs there will prob be a YT Anonymous group for all us YT junkies!! LOL 😂😂😂
Just saw them at Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale, Fl. They were as musically crisp and vocally strong as they were 30 years ago. Thanks for a great show on 1/29/22.

Mirror, Mirror, on my wall, Tell me, who is the loneliest fool of them all No, wait a minute, I believe I see The answer's staring back at me Spent most of the morning laying in bed Lunch was a black coffee and three cigarettes They say it will kill me, but I've got a hunch That this broken heart's gonna beat 'em to the punch Mirror, Mirror, on my wall, Tell me, who is the loneliest fool of them all No, wait a minute, I believe I see The answer's staring back at me Yes, I'm the one who swore she would stay Right up to the moment the U-Haul drove away She didn't leave a table; she didn't leave a chair But she knew what she was doing When she left you hanging there Aw, Mirror, Mirror, on my wall, Tell me, who is the loneliest fool of all No, wait a minute, I believe I see The answer's staring back at me No, wait a minute, I believe I see The answer's staring back at me...
You know what brought me here? My wife was sitting down to dinner and said “Lunch was….” And I quickly said “black coffee and 3 cigarettes?” And she looked at me like I was crazy so I had to bring it up for her to hear. Now it’s stuck in my head for about 3 days
My sister suprised me with front row tickets to see diamond Rio in 2010... How many realized how close they were to ending it all in 2005 w/Marty Roe vocal issues
Written by Bob DiPiero, John Jarrad, and Mark D. Sanders, "Mirror, Mirror" was released on July 1, 1991, as the second single from Diamond Rio's self-titled 1991 debut album. Michael Merriman directed the song's music video, and Bryan Bateman produced. It features the band performing in a room full of mirrors to match the song's concept. The video premiered on CMT on July 4, 1991.🙂
One greatest band. Truly enjoy classic hits songs I grow up listen on radio . A plus video and song. Truly take back old days. Always country music listeners and bluegrass music and church songs I grow up listen since was five year old now older now. Lots classic music. Enjoy all them.
