yes i also went today for the whole time it was open and we got lucky to get on orion and diamondback. i’m seriously afraid of coasters but got over my fear today thanks to those coasters
I went last Friday it was pouring on Orion, it felt the same way but the worst part our train got stuck in front of the station and we sat there forever and I didn’t have a poncho 😂 to
I may not be from the area, but this coaster has a very special place in my heart. This was the first coaster I ever road that was over 200ft, and was the tallest coaster, by a long shot, that I rode at that point. For a while, I had a fear of larger coasters due to a weird stomach dropping feeling whenever I rode down a drop, after riding this, that feeling went away and I absolutely loved the ride. After our day, we went to Cedar Point and I rode Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, it's clear that Diamondback "Cured" me if you will. That was back in 2011 and now, this coming weekend (May 20-23, 2022, our Victoria Day weekend), I will be returning to Kings Island after 11 years. I 100% will be riding Diamondback again.
@@coastaku1954 it is on mako. I never questioned anything on dates of things being built I'm simply making a statement it's not my fucking fault you didn't go on the coaster
@@ryanmozert You undermined my story, saying that a coaster that wasn't built at the time was scarier than the coaster I went on. That's a dick move, you're trying to call me a pussy for once being scared of Diamondback. You didn't add anything to what I said, your statement makes no sense. Also Mako isn't scary, no coaster is to me anymore
I rode this for the first time a few weeks ago. It delivered what I love: airtime, airtime, airtime and more airtime. And it's smooth and comfortable. It's now my all-time favorite steel coaster.
Me and my friend rode this ride 6 times in a row in 2010, it was a walk on and amazing, this ride makes me miss him, hopefully he’s in heaven riding the same ride waiting on me :)
So sorry for the loss of your friend 🙏 I also had a best friend back in school. We were blessed to be at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia the 1st year it opened. It was 1975. We were 11 years old. We went every year together til my first child was due in 1984.. one year we rode The Rebel Yell 13 times in a row. This was July 4, 1978. I lost my friend 4 years ago. She's in Heaven now. Until we meet again RIP Teresa 1964-2019 ❤🙏 ❤
@@funnymichael1 so i’m back from my trip, i didn’t do it the line was rh long. But i did do the new one that was similar to it but bigger (Orian) with the 300 fr drop and j was terrified lol
all of you saying you’re going to Kings Island and want to ride this, but are scared, just GO FOR IT! you will be nervous in the queue but you will have a blast, there are people like me who would love to ride this but can’t because it’s far away, make the most out of your trip!
Got lucky and rode this right as the firework show started. I'll never forget coming up from the first drop and seeing the sky light up in front of me.
The slow and steep lift hill with the minimalist seating/restraints is the scariest part of this ride! I have great memories riding this over and over in 2014 because it was a rainy day and the park was mostly empty.
I was scared to ride roller coasters like this my whole life. All summer, the guy I’m dating and his daughter (incredibly stubborn people lol), insisted I was going to ride Orion. Me: I hate to disappoint you, but nope. They bugged me so much I started praying about it, literally! 😂 Then I watched the video. Once I realized that first hill is only five seconds it helped me get over my fear a little bit. Rode it two weeks ago and can’t wait to ride it again! We didn’t get a chance to ride Damondback because it was raining, but we’re going again this Saturday and I’ll be getting on this beast!
Diamondback is my favorite ride at Kings Island. Glad to have this coaster at my home park! Just one of the amazing coasters at my favorite place on earth!
So glad I have this park as my home park. This is one of my favorite B&M hypers and only ranks below Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure. This beats Mako and Intimidator and Goliath at other parks! I love this airtime machine.
Rode it twice with a friend today. It was his first time ever at an amusement park and Orion was his first roller coaster. He lost some color looking down the drop but he enjoyed it! 😂
Now this is the kind of coaster I like ....1st Hill is straight down (no fake out hill that curves you around to smaller hill) that leads up to a big 2nd hill like the Magnum and millennium force ( instead of using all the speed for dumb twists and curves ) then it does the negative g stuff...😁😁...
I went to Kings Island 10 years ago and I got in line for DiamondBack. I really really looked up yeah-nah'd right outta there. Finally rode it yesterday. Thrilling! And terrifying!
Went yesterday and the line for banshee was so short we rode 5 times in a row and still with time to ride diamondback 4 times and Orion 2 times as well as beast 2 times and flight of fear we didn’t stay till closing as usual so I can only imagine the amount of rides we coulda gotten in if we did this was my 3 time this week going and 5th in two weeks I just love this park and I’m so glad to call it my hometown park
I’m going this upcoming Tuesday and determined this is the one I’m most scared of. My friend really wants to go on it so I’m trying to convince myself but fgsrgrjsigfi (I already decided I will absolutely not go on Orion)
Hey…I went today, you need to go on banshee prion, and diamond back, Orion is just diamond back painted blue, seriously, same tracks and seats and shape, some guy even said diamond back was better, but my favorite is banshee, it’s so good, just close your eyes, you’ll be fine, pleas take my advice
Lift hill is worst part of any rollercoaster. Take a deep breath before going over and Scream, yell or whoop all the way down the hill. Sounds silly but it works. I got my gf to go on Millennium Force this way. The only coaster she wouldn't ride was Top Thrill Dragster. Taught her a trick for that one too she's riding it in 2 1/2 weeks.
Hey! I’m going Tuesday also!! Diamondback isn’t that bad trust me! And Orion is just a slightly bigger version, I was terrified of Orion but did it twice! Such a great ride
Also, you need to know, after you go in the banshee, your gonna wanna go again before leaving the park, I was a piss baby getting on it, getting off, I WANNA GO AGAIN! if you go on it, scream Yay with your hands up
Rode this for the first time yesterday after years and years of building confidence. I’m pretty sure I blacked out during the first drop but I loved the rest of it lmao
Love that coaster. Rode in the front seat because my friend said this is the only way to ride this coaster. That first drop intense but I laughed the entire drop
Rode that last night for the first time ever, first time huge coaster ride ever, first ever 80mph coaster...and we got stationed right up at the front row. Had an awesome time but man was that climb to the top anxiety inducing.
I honestly think this ride is better than Orion, but I really do love Orions first drop but it is kinda short for me. But Diamond back is an amazing ride in the back! Highly recommend riding in the back if you have ridden it already. But if your first riding it the front is the best seat!
I went on this today at night and as I was at the top the fireworks were happening honestly today was I think the best day I’ve ever had and I’ll never forget riding down it with firewroks! Crazy day
This was my little brother’s favorite coaster at Kings Island when we went in 2021. He even bought a Diamondback hoodie that he never wears lol 😂 Btw me and my dad’s favorite coaster was Orion. We bought Orion shirts but unlike my brother we wear them 😂
I'm going this October, I've been on the backlot stunt coaster, the bat, and the diamondback. I plan on going on all three again aswell as the banshee, orion, and a few others. Any suggestions on ones I should ride? I'm still experimenting with faster rollarcoasters and rollarcoasters with loops will be a first time.
I went there today and there’s a lot that are good. First time getting on Banshee and Flight of Fear there. Banshee is very good overall, the only part that I didn’t like that much was the ending roll. Flight of Fear is a launch but rougher, plus you can’t see where you’re going. I consistently go on backlot stuntcoaster, mystic timbers, beast, and the racer. Hope you have fun there!
Definitely the best coaster there! 100%. In the Back row you get some crazy airtime cause you get whipped over the drop and airtime hills. Way better than Orion. This is my favorite B&M hyper!
