Nice to see another company thinking outside the box. Nine rounds instead of six, double action, and 4.75 inch barrel for better velocity and sight radius. Gun Author Chuck Hawk stated the minimum barrel length for a 22 Magnum Revolver is 4". Diamondback scored on this model. Ruger is much to conservative. This would be an good house defense Revolver for a senior citizen in 22 Magnum 9 rounds on hand and zero recoil. Great review.

Nice, I like the swing out cylinder and NINE rounds. It looks like a keeper once it is fully sighted in.

I borrowed the gun, but if it were mine, some judicious file work to the front sight would cure the vertical issue, though there isn't much that can be done for the windage. And that double-action trigger needs a lot of work. Thanks for watching.

I love the look and that it's DA/SA. I just wish it would have adjustable sights. I have a Heritage Rough Rider Small Bore w/adjustable rear sights, shoots amazing in 22lr and 22mag. I hope this gun finds success in the market and they upgrade the sights. 9 shots and DA is a Big draw for me with this gun. And I love the look of Cowboy action guns.

Ya, "Ach du lieber, mein schatz"! As this is my first time seeing your videos, you are awarded my famous "Ach du ..." greeting! Very nice review of a pretty nice gun. You certainly talk very nicely & clearly, like the gentleman you seem to be! NO NASTIES!! At 82, I appreciate seeing & hearing a man with a "wee bit of age" under his belt, rather than a "young whipper schnapper" for a change! I didn't say "OLD" now! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. My personal love are the black powder guns, but I love the cartridge guns too. "Gesundheit"!

The old Peacemaker style revolvers that only came with post and trough sights tell us that our forefathers must all have been eagle eyed individuals. I need to find one of these. I have only one double/single action (S&W K22, born in 1950) and a couple Heritage RRs, one of which I bought my daughter for her Christmas when she was 16 and the little barkeep; both have the magnum cylinders. this DA/SA .22 is the best of both worlds: cheap and DA/SA. Longer barrel (9") and lighter weight (any gun you're packing for a long period of time you want lighter weight, you know the old backpacker saying ounces equal pounds, pounds equal pain) would make it a excellent woods walking/ survival gun loaded with a shot shell first to deal with slithering reptiles. That's some awfully good shooting at 25yds(? I think you said) and you did it double-action which just astounds me, because with a single-action Colt style high hammer spur you shouldn't be able to 'acquire' that front sight. So what is your secret?
@RidersRange
@RidersRange 2 года назад
steelgila, thank you for watching and commenting. Considering where the gun was hitting at 15 yards in relation to where I was aiming, I'm surprised that I hit anything at 25 or 50 yards. The way the Diamondback is designed, the front and rear sight are visible with the hammer in any position, so sight acquisition isn't a problem. But it's definitely not hitting anywhere near point of aim.
