I suppose it's genius if the goal was to portray Diana as a totally unstable basket case, which is the only type of character Kristen Stewart knows how to play. And, frankly, I thought this film was in the worst taste. Astonishingly, Charles seems like the sensible one in this scene. "The Crown" did a much better job of portraying Diana sympathetically and depicting how horribly she was treated.

Except Diana did not treat anyone badly. Charles took out his frustrations and anger on the innocent party and I for one will never forgive him for his cruelty to her. 😒 He had all the power and he did nothing but isolate and humiliate her.

‘Rent-a-womb’ - pardon me for the vulgarity, but that’s all they are to me...vulgar, blinkered nonces, wearing fancy dress & fake smiles & tears of ‘deepest sympathy’. No one has actually said ‘let them eat cake’.... I wonder how many of their loyal (& hungry, & cold) subjects could be fed, not from food banks, but from the price of a Philip Treacy hat....💔

Watched it last night Janet and I almost lost the will to live!!!! Continuity shocking after she pulled a clump of flesh from her arm??? Next scene with the royals no sign of blood or scar??????? Acting was wooden especially Charles. Why did I not give up watching to the end. It was cringe worthy!!!!!!

Its interesting to me that older people didn't like this film as much as younger people did. Yes there is a self harm scene where she pulls a chunk of skin off her arm. Its perhaps the most shocking and polarising moment in the film. But she actually doesnt join the rest of the royals after she does this. She leaves the premises before they ever see her injury. And even as the film makes it clear that the family know she hurt herself, they do indeed have a reaction. But anyway, the film is not meant to be a typical biopic. Its supposed to be more metaphorical and visceral, rather than a literal retelling of events. Its meant to be a folk story or fable.
