Its almost indescribable how talented she is, there is no word in the dictionary to express the mood and fascination she brings to the audience. extra-extraordinary is as close a word to describe it
I put this and other concerts on my big screen smart tv and what a blessing it brings into my home . Diana Krall, Julie London, Stacy Kent, Peggy Lee, and many others, feed my soul , I'll buy this album put it on my iPad so I can have it in my car !
She is perfect great voice with combination with virtuous playing on piano , I am regretting now that i didn't finished my music school with piano lectures ....(
Was Krall ever on record as to her feelings about her predecessors, Connee Boswell and later, Anita O'Day? Something tells me she had some interesting observations about the two. And now that I think of it, was Krall ever on record about Irene Kral, sister of Roy, who, in her brief life, put out some memorable West Coast jazz. Her "Some other time" is as funky as funky can get. After hours music. Drinking tomato juice to recover from a bad headache music. Don't walk over the Golden Gate Bridge if you're in a bad way music. And I'm glad Irene was "Happy to be me."
Not in the first song, but yes, Foster plays on some of the numbers, such as Desperado. Diana Krall is a very talented pianist, as is Foster. Different styles, but the whole is greater thant the sum of the parts.
Title of the song is *_There Ain't No Sweet Man That's Worth The Salt Of My Tears_* written by Fred Fisher *** You have to change the playback speed to 0.75 (3/4 speed) to get the correct tempo. .. and understand what she is singing. *** .. Lyrics ... Shakin' like a leaf on a tree, That's coming loose from the stem Shakin' like a leaf on a tree, Because I'm coming loose from my man! I'm like a weeping willow, Weeping on my pillow, For years and years, There ain't no sweet man that's worth the salt of my tears Down and down he dragged me, Like a fiend he nagged me, For years and years, There ain't no sweet man that's worth the salt of my tears Although I may be blue, Still, I'm true, I must tell him good-bye! Rather than have that man, Gonna lay me down and just die! So broken-hearted sisters, Aggravating misters, lend me your ears! There ain't no sweet man that's worth the salt of my tears Although I may be blue, Still, I'm true, I must tell him good-bye! Rather than have that man, Gonna lay me down and just die! So broken-hearted sisters, Aggravating misters, lend me your ears! There ain't no sweet man that's worth the salt of my tears ---
