I am hooked, addicted , zonked out by this killer trip on the A Train.

This is totally brutal. Rhythm, chords, all exactly done with push pull feel. This woman is just amazing. Spriritually augmented to the Krall degree. Not have any more words, just pure enjoyment.

Not only is Diana an amazing singer - she is a dynamite piano player. What chops ! She is the face of everything that is wonderful about jazz.

That's guitarist Dan Faehnle (Fan-lee). He was part of the Diana Krall quartet for three years and currently he’s the guitarist for ‘Pink Martini’ orchestra.

This is the most aggressive playing that I have heard from her. The percussive manner of playing reminds me of Duke Ellington.The ending reminds me of Count Basie. I simply love her vocal stylings. It is her own. There are flashes of earlier female singers. Accompanying oneself on the piano is not easy. Well done.

Just so gooood!! And, I love how she has all the other musicians solo, and then gives the audience there names. I think Diana Krall will I hope by playing music for a long time to come, but is already a legend in her own time. I've enjoyed her so much along with the players she brings with her...just can't say enough good about her. And, yes she is a great, looking, woman, but that is not what makes her music great. She has integrity and character, not just looks.

This lady has the precise feelings necessary for playing jazz. Remarkable, outstanding, considering she hails from another country.

I love how she used the classic Count Basie ending, instead of the "A Train" ending, which of course is derived from this tune! Totally subverted my expectations.

Krall takes a legendary song and puts her signature to the piece. This is one of the best renditions of A-Train. Dave Brubeck, another jazz great, did a fantastic, out of this world version of A-Train in 1966.

Diana hangs in the groove like a swnging metronome. Ellington would have loved her. I still wonder how the hell a White, female Canadian could have ever acquired such a mastery of jazz piano and vocals. But I'm glad she did.

Of course this version is great, and she plays great jazz piano, but, if you want to hear the A train that Diana is influenced by in this version, give a listen to the great Betty Roche's version of A Train when she was knocking em dead with the 1950 Ellington Orchestra. LOL! Who doesn't know this was a Strayhorn composition. Though some argue the lyrics were in fact written by Joya Merrill NOT Strayhorn. Would not surprise me as men often took credit for a woman's work back then.
