Last year 2019 in September in West Hollywood, California I was in Coffee Bean at Sunset Blvd and Horn Avenue and Diana Ross came in for some frozen blended drink and I was the only one who recognized her and I kept staring at her and as she was walking out the door she said: "hi" to me! She kept her big black sunglasses on the whole time! LOL!
Years ago I had a friend Diana Ross hired for her summer stay in a house in Malibu. My friend cooked for her and did some housekeeping. I would drop my friend off at Diana's place on Sunday night's and she would stay for the week with Diana and come home on the weekends. When The summer was over, and it was my friends last week of work, I asked her if I might get to meet Diana. So when I went to pick her up at the end of her last week of work, my friend ran out to the car and said " let's go!" And I said, "I thought you were going to introduce me to Diana? My friend got back out of my car and said "come on". So I followed her to the front door of the house Diana was staying in. My friend rang the door bell, And I could here Diana say "who is it " And my friend said, it's. Diana Angie, I would like for my friend to meet you! And Diana said, I don't have my makeup on! I had brought Diana a gift (The. Holy Bible on Tape) so my friend reached inside the door snd handed Diana the gift bag, and Diana reach her hand out the door and shook my hand (I never saw het facr
@@staceyparker9951 honestly, most of my life until I was about 55 I would never leave the house unless I had my make up and hair done and was dressed nicely. No way would I step out of the door “un-put together”. 😂🤣😂😆🤣 Im 66 and I cannot remember last time I put on make up. 😂🤣😂😆 Whenever I went to see Diana in concert I would dress to the nines and every time she would say something to me in the audience. I have never seen a performer so tuned in to her audience. She can always spot her biggest fans in her audience. She is a remarkable woman in so many ways.
There is absolutely no one that can sing this song like Diana Ross , and there are some good singers out there but there is no one and I mean absolutely no one that can deliver this jewel of a song like Diana Ross especially when she sings it full throttle. she has etched this song and her style of singing it in stone
Beautiful song ❤️ Ms. Diana Ross I watch a little of this on my break during a concert at my job , Im a licensed security officer, This song is beautiful, Because this world 🌍 needs that uplifting spirit 🙏🏼 🌹🌷
I was in the first row of the Albert Hall in London when Diana Ross came down into the audience singing this Song he came in front of me ....wow she blew me away Awesome i will never forget that performance in fact the whole show was a knock out experience
I must watched this a thousand times, never gets old, absolutely fukn beautiful in every way. And the look on kelsey grammers face,he cant take any calls when she starts singing. The best
She is one of the top entertainers of all time. She had a beautiful voice that was trained by the famous Juliard school of music, but it was her flair for entertainment that made her a fantastic act.The reason her voice sounds thicker today is due to scar tissue from overuse of the vocal chords. That happens to many of the great singers.Happy that she got her life together after some trying times and now is a role model for her adorable kids. She still has perfect pitch, and does a few benefits.
Ross was 61 when she did this performance for the Tsunami benefit. I don't many 61 year olds that gorgeous, youthful, and still in full command of their voice. I think this was around the time she was gonna do a make-up line for MAC. Not sure what happened, but she would've easily done IMAN type mega sales if the deal went through. I've gone to several of her concerts throughout various stages of her career, and she has always been superb and beautiful. I remember when I took my mama to see her in 2000 (paid VIP money to be close to the stage and it was worth it). My mama called every person she knew after that concert and wouldn't stop going on and on about it lol. Ross is truly one of a kind.
I recall that this clip was immediately following the Tsunami disaster. I had seen her a couple of months in Atlantic city at Ceasars and this is how she looked..very much like the Diana Ross I've loved for many years! Glorious!!
100 percent brilliant controlled well thought out performance of this classic. Over thirty years after recording this Ashford and Simpson masterpiece, she still sounds very close to the way she sounded in her 20's. Good for her! Good for us too.
having the best voice doesnt make you a superstar, yet she is.....just look at how she just stands there posed singing such a beautiful song its so magical...YO UGO GIRL!!!
I think that Diana is the most beautiful now than in all her career. I say that because I think now she emanates a majestic beauty within that matches that on the outside. I hated her hair-bun androgenous look of the mid/late '70s, and the Dynasty '80s overkill. Now, she seems...just supremely serene. :)
TO ALL THE HATERS OF MJ, MS.ROSS. THEY ARE BOTH LEGENDS. LISTEN TO THE WORDS DIANA ROSS, IS SINGING. THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE. THEY BOTH HAVE CONCERTS ALL OVER THE WORLD, THEY ARE SOLD OUT. I SAW DIANA ROSS IN NYC, I ENJOYED MYSELF SO MUCH. I NEVER GOT TO SEE MJ, UNFORTUALLY. HOW COULD.PEOPLE TALK ABOUT MJ KIDS , THEY LOVE THEIR FATHER VERY MUCH.
The uplifting song was Diana Ross’ first single as a solo artist, released in April 1970, only three months after her final show with The Supremes. “Reach Out and Touch” was co-authored by the Motown team formed by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, who composed 10 of the 11 tracks on her debut LP “Diana Ross”. It was a modest hit, but not the breakout smash Motown boss Berry Gordy was looking for to launch her new career. The knockout would be next : Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” (1970). “Reach Out and Touch” champions kindness with a gospel vibe that gives it a communal feel, generating a warm feeling. Ross would often use it near the end of her concerts to bring the audience together, prompting them to sing along at the end. She performed it at the 2019 Grammy Awards to celebrate her 75th birthday. When this was issued, The Supremes were entering a new phase, with Jean Terrell replacing Ross. Their first single “sans Ross” was “Up The Ladder to the Roof.” Motown head Berry Gordy threw his resources into Ross, giving her top songwriting and production talent, as well as big budgets for her stage spectacles. Conversely, he skimped on The Supremes, figuring they had a limited future without Ross. Therefore, it was disappointing when Ross didn’t outchart her former group with her first single. But it was just a matter of time. Ross quickly rose to superstar status as a solo act, while The Supremes’ hits dried up. MATES OF YESTERYEAR TURNED INTO RIVALS, ALL VYING FOR TOMORROW’S TOP SPOT❕ That’$ $how-bu$ine$$‼️ 💙🎵💚
the poms might have stopped slavery but the yanks are the champs of giving .thanks as an aussie for helping us keep our eye on the ball ,and even making the rest of us uncomfortable when we need it .
this was really a moment for her. She was bouncing back after probably the most difficult period in her life. To see her giving herself for such a good cause made me smile.
Amen ..I am trained by the red cross..owe slot of u I am to great teachers at the red cross.. Thanksgiving be to ur company for all the good u do in the community..
The voice? It's matured, deepened, thickened, widened. The high notes come less, but the uniqueness of the voice is still there. I actually prefer hearing her sing songs like this more now. Slow stuff...the Billie Holiday set. She sings them better now than she did 30 years ago. Imbued with wisdom. I saw her in Atlantic City about 2 months before this performance, and that woman put on the most entertaining concert I've been to. So engaged, so exciting. I'll never forget that night...
You know it have been a long time since my mother passed I miss the years a man Joyce but you know it felt good sending it Mother's Day speech it's the little things that count but it felt as if I was actually in that car taking my mother out for a picnic that's what I said tell the Young Generation do special things for your mother and father actually felt like a daughter
I was there that night and she walked towards the back left and she called me forward and I joined her on this song. There were lots of Japanese people taking snaps I wish I had one for my memory chest. jxx
You are the best ever. The first of many times I have seen you was in Rock Creek Park outdoor theater with the Supremes. (in D.C.) Marcia (50+years ago)
