If you've ever worked in show business like I have, having others poke, touch, and prod your face with paint brushes and paint sticks is so freakin' annoying.
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE RECORDING ARTIST OF ALL TIME!!! And can’t nobody top that cause she did it first and broke barriers all over the world. I love it!!
She was the first versatile pop music diva, which allowed her to connect with a wider age range, because when she got started, some singers wouldnt "touch" rock and roll. Diana Ross and the Supremes were not afraid to sing stuff that didn't fall within expectations of what black singers should be performing. Diana sang many styles of music convincingly, and because of that, it made her stand out from the crowd. She actually has hits in more genres of music than any other diva.....jazz, country, ballads, soul, dixie, disco and classical believe it or not. She was welcomed to sing in Italy with opera greats Placido Domingo amd that other dude. What other black soul divas were invited to do that? And that my friends is why she is Diana Ross and like no other..Even Tina Turner has indicated in the press she was jealous of Diana Ross' voice at the height of her career
I just loooooooooooooooooove looooooooooooove Diana!!! She's natural, amazing and I so admire how a diva like herself can be so down to earth. A true role model for sure. Thank you for this clip so much
She's in a leather dress and looks great. She had kids at this point! Great figure for a woman who had children! I love the meeting with all of her songs used.
I've seen her only 13 times...I recall seeing her at the glorious Art Deco theatre in beautiful Oakland, the Paramount Theatre.. She was fab fab fab and sweet.. The audience was classy..as they witnessed her glorious blessed presence. As she sang her Bille Holiday classics, people called out and very respectfully..."Icon!! ...Diva!..." I was so proud. My crazy self didn't need to instruct any of them about how honored they should feel it behave when swathed by her elegance and talent.
"You can't just work on your career and now have a balance in your life." TRUTH and she did it all with grace and class. What a beautiful woman and mother.
You're right. She actually looks younger with shorter and straightened hair instead ofthe blob mess she likes that engulfs her head. She wore this style when being interviews that trapezoid head shaped host.Looked good there too
Diana Ross looks great, and glowing skin. She is a legendary Diva.! Great voice and longevity career. She keeps winning, except in love department...oh well. TFS😚☺
Yes you would. She does have that effect on people, even famous and rich people I saw her when she was taping the video with Ru Paul "I Will Survive" It was filmed in West Hollywood , Ca.on an impromptu basis in 1995. A crowd naturally gathered, and they did their thing. When she passed by me on the float all I could do is smile and stare. I was 3 feet from her. Yeah, you bet I was star struck. She smiled back. with her famous wide grin.
That bit with the producers using all her hits was amazing. Isn't Ross like the biggest (or in the top 4 or 5) female selling artists like ever? I can't think of anyone with more hits.
It started in 1997 and they've had quite a number of host replacements since then. I personally think the show was at it's best with Meredith, Star, and Lisa.
It is rather unfortunate, as we enter 2018, that NOT much has changed in film and television production rooms in regard to race. We are still singing and dancing wile they have all of the key positions and acquire all of the real wealth and security. #DiversifyYourStadd
Someone made a comment about how skinny and mal-nutritioned Ms. Ross looked in her younger days but, It was her Voice, her talent, and the fact that she was so skinny back then, that made her different from all of the other female singers.Like any flower,it has to blossom. Having beauty inside, will only show more on the outside as a person grows, learns, and matures.
Good question. I've been a fan of Diana since the very beginning. To date, I don't know of an interview where Diana really gets into the film LSTB, which was her favorite scene, which was the most difficult. I have only read a few comments of Diana's where she mentions the Oscar. In one of her concert programs Diana wrote "the Oscar, sure it would have been nice. But I think the film speaks for itself." GOOOO MISS ROSS.
i wouldn't say she looks out of place...she just naturally stands out. Not many people have a presence like that where you just notice them in a crowd or whatever.
The way she entered the room, is the way i enter my job everyday.....i spin around, whip off my wrap....and grant everyone with a million dollar smile and say.....WHAZ UP BITCHESSSSSSS
Yeah, I think they only said that because of her printing in Guiness Book of World Records in 1993. Madonna has sold way more records than her. But remember, Madonna became an international star without even touring because of MTV. Madonna's concert tours also gross much more than Diana's and she plays larger venues
Barbara was always trying to throw subtle shade at Miss Ross. It was no point of her bringing up Diana had redecorated her house like 20 yrs ago for their first interview. She really couldn't stand that Diana was a successful black woman who had standards just like her
