You are doing the most amazing Service posting these videos about this case. Thank you so much for doing this. I was very young when this case happened and it shocked me then as it does now all these years later. Thank you.
I was thinking about DD TV just this past weekend & here we get a new episode so thank you. Knowing limited time and the tedious process I just appreciate you taking the time to share what you can. “Relax go to sleep…” like forever !?!
That woman makes me Ill! She keeps half laughing and I hear absolutely zero empathy. I know her story and have watched most if not everything that's out there and I'm still apalled being belief.
She's telling this the same way as someone describing a movie they've seen.. just totally disconnected from emotion. Frightening that these people exist.
It's interesting to listen to this and realize Christie looked at her like that because she was shocked her mother shot her and NOT because she allowed the hitchhiker to shoot her
Have such sadness for Christie as she has had to live life with this. Possibly the little boy doesn't remember that night, but still awful to live life with this knowledge. Until Diane dies, they have to keep seeing her pop up for parole interviews.
7:36 This detail, "she reached," we've heard for 4 decades. But we know she wasn't reaching for mom, she was trying to block mom's bullets. Diane has, let's say, made a cosmetic version of the memory of her own daughter trying to fend off her gunfire.
Who are you DD TV? Are you someone that worked on the case? A detective maybe? 🤔 lol I have been wondering this since I’ve found you and all your wonderful Diane downs tapes.
@@DDTV1983 Oh, for goodness sake! I've been wondering, too. Good for you for this deep dive into the (for you) historic event. For a lot of us, it fell under "current events."
@@allwayscgood576 For sure! I appreciate you tuning in and thank you for motivating me. I like to do this is my spare time and liaise with anyone who watches and comments. It helps me understand the case. I also enjoy sound design.
Chilling. One of the few times she tells the truth, it's to describe the kids' reactions as each bullet hit them. She's so helpful and of course flirting snd giggling at the male officers.
The statement that she could see Christie and Christie could see Diane sunk her in court. It was pitch-black dark and the only way that could happen was when Diane opened the trunk to retrieve the gun and they saw each other because the trunk light came on.
3:02 ohhhh, okay this is new... a guy potentially lying in a ditch? That she's going to investigate on her own, rrright. Without asking shaggy man anything. It's wonderful what a terrible liar she is. It's obvious she invented that detail because she realized her story made no sense; WHY, HOW did shaggy man get to the open door? This is a stupid reason. I've never heard her mention going off to investigate a ditch ever again.
@@Angela-qq6kq Yeah, the 2008 hearing is gold because it lasts three hours. I will share soon. The 2010 one is good too but that one I only have audio of. That lasts two hours.
13:15 telling Cheryl to wake up and Christy to go to sleep because they had to be alive to sue the hospital (she did try for 7 million dollars) to blame them for not saving the kid's, even though she shot them. $$$$$
17:02 "[Cheryl] was doing something... they each were doing something, but separately, on their own." This is right after the event. Yet later talking to Knick, she SWEARS up n down that all her kids were asleep. Pants on fire!!! 🔥
4:22 This whole segment is so chilling. Diane is _literally_ loling at the memory of what Christie's face looked like whilst she was being shot... twice. Equating it to the peach cobbler episode. It's not like it's a couple years later, where hindsight might introduce stray related memories that could possibly elicit a wry smile, no, it's JUST HAPPENED. And her daughter's had a stroke and it's not clear that she's going to make it. Her description of the expression of accusatory disbelief on Christie's face is probably not far from the truth.
16:33 Oooo, slick. The detective has detected a provable lie. Obviously, those headlights couldn't have been on, not if diane had actually removed the keys from the ignition. One could write it off to confusion and trauma, except the cop drilled down on that detail: was she _sure?_ Yes, mom of the year was sure, and she gives the reasons why. Nice.
@alanaxstitcher8403 🫨🧐 ha, I wondered later why I wrote that. Then I remembered, it had to do with something that came out at trial, having to do with... not the lights, but the tape! The tape player. THAT'S what couldn't stay on, if she'd actually removed the keys. So the fake key tossing to throw off shaggyman WAS disproved, concretely, just by a different detail. But nice catch, Alan! You should be a detective. :)))
