Most of the homeless people I've talked to in California came here from red states and other states so they could live in a warmer climate. If you're really concerned about squalor and poverty (we all know you don't really give a fk about squalor and poverty unless you can use it as a talking point) you should visit some republican states in the south. There's far, FAR, more serious squalor and poverty there. I've talked to and helped homeless people all over the country in both red and blue states and more often than not it is republican policies that put them out on the street.
