I really enjoy your learning while playing videos. They are so informative and you speak very eloquently, which makes the video that much more helpful. I've been wanting this game since 2019 but the price tag is a killer!
I enjoyed watching this tutorial after waiting for it for almost 6 months. I can say that it's the dice form of Dominion, which is the deckbuilding game by the same publisher. I hope that they release an expansion for Dice Realms in the future. As for the gameplay, it's excellent. I love how you want to roll the dice to see what you get, and have things like re-roll tokens in order to try the game the faces you need. Plus, if you buy a re-roll shelf face, you turn a D6 into a D5 for example so that you'll more likely to get faces you need. Anyway, thanks for showing the game. I loved watching it.
Thanks so much for this tutorial and playthrough. As someone new to the game, it is especially helpful to understand the reason behind decisions, upgrades, etc. Gives a greater sense of the strategy and depth of the game, far beyond reading the rule book or a review

I'm ashamed to admit that I've bought this game blindly, because I love Dice Forge and Dominion so much. But it's been on my shelf since release, so more than 3 months. I would check the internet daily on any tutorials but they were just not coming around. After some time I just check whenever and I come across this video. I believe after watchting this, I'll finally be able and get this game on the table while being confident on how to play it. Thank you
It's certainly not an attractive game. But I do think the dice upgrading looks a lot better than Dice Forge. As mentioned below, it looks very much like Dominion the Dice Game.
This is it??? Underwhelming to say the least. For a game that has been announced since 2019 is sure does NOT deliver. Add the price on top of that and I have already forgotten about it lol. Great video as always Jon, cheers!
Neat die upgrading mechanic. Is this the first game to do this? I've been thinking about different ways that games could upgrade and customize abilities.
Check out dice forge, it is also a nice game that actually is a bit stronger on the theme side of things (i found dice realms to have a weaker theme overall)
This is very similar if not the same mechanism as Dice Forge. Upgrading sides of dies with those circular parts with tabs . I remember playing it once or twice. They do not fall off, that's for sure. Tight grip. It's interesting and replayable game, but (at least in my country) it has already been deemed worthy of the "clearance aisle" in game shops . It's a strange phenomenon, when this happens lots of people sold theirs second hand, and it ... doesn't get played so much?
As Tom mentioned, Dice Forge is probably the most well-known other dice builder. Rattlebones is the first to do it as far as I'm aware though. Tom Lehmann (the designer of this game) also added dice building to Roll for the Galaxy in an expansion, so it wouldn't even be the first of *his* games to do it.
I don't think it's that easy. There are also a multitude of other faces that you can use in setup which give different effects/themes to the game so food could be more important or military could be needed. It's quite a variable system.
