Beautiful, beautiful man. Cavett is struggling to keep up even when Monsieur Delon is speaking his second language. Brains, Beauty, Compassion for animals, the whole nine yards of everything wonderful. Good Night, Alain.
First time l ever watched an interview of this fine actor. These two seem to be enjoying each other's company. Sad to hear Alaine passed away this week. Looks like his life was quite a journey. I look forward to checking out his film work! R.I.P., Mr. Delon, and thanks!
This great man has been so influential in Europe. We men still compare ourselves to each other by using Alain Delon as the benchmark of supercool superhandsome . 'Ur good looking mate but ur not Alain Delon'. 'Who do u think u are? Alain Delon?' Hey its 2021 and he is and will always be .... Alain Delon
I've always been underwhelmed only actors like Brad Pitt, Leo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, and the rest of the Hollywood guys. Alain Delon put every last one of them to shame. He looked like a living Ken doll he was so beautiful.
Delon is the most beautiful man. Utterly dreamy. He's still alive, although depressed and doesn't want to liv since all his friends have passed. Not sure how close he is with his kids.
@@angelvalentinov4824All of them together don't had a mínimun piece of the beauty, charism, class, intelligence and sexappeal than Delon has.Never,in their dreams.
I'm afraid that's the end of the interview. Delon stayed around for another 15 minutes or so as the next guest was being interviewed, but the camera was not on him. I'm sorry it sort of cut rather badly at the end. It should've run for a few more seconds, but I accidentally cut it too early. I'll post more Delon interviews if I can find more in the future.
He is not only the most handsome man alive, but he is a very kind human being, animal lover and animal rights advocate. That,in my opinion, makes him so charismatic and attractive.
Easy to find Parts 1, 2 and 3. This is Part 4. It's actually quite lengthy. It's his first interview in English--speaks remarkably well! Amazing, handsome man. So intelligent!
As an American who loves Alain Delon. I found Cavett disrespectful. Let's face it Cavett had great guests back in the day and intelligent discussions you don't find on American talk shows today, but here he came off a bit pompous as he often did. Delon spoke English well but struggled with certain phrases. Cavett used that as fodder to mock him at times. I loved it when Delon had a witty comeback that took Cavett by surprise. Cavett needed to be knocked down a few pegs at times by guests when he became full of himself. I don't know why Cavett did that to many guests over the years. He intentionally or unintentionally sabotaged what could have been great interviews.
I honestly think ...Dick Cavett was "feeling" him a little too much for his own comfort, if you watch his body language he's totally into Delon...Delon probably was much more than he expected on many different levels...He's the real deal!...Remember back then they had a lot of male celebrities who were sex symbols but weren't actual "real men" ...Most of the stars back then were bi-sexual or gay. Marlon Brando, James Dean, Rock Hudson, Montgomery Clift, Anthony Perkins....etc...
Good looking, handsome, smart, quick! When I was growing up in Japan 50th, and 60th, he was very popular ❤in Japan. And I saw all of his movies, and I was a big fan. After 1971, I resided in California. We don’t get his films here. Lost continuity regarding his life after 36 years old(his age). Till now❤! Most interesting his facial features were the blue eyes! I visited France, Paris and saw many handsome black hair and Blue eyed people….. to me Japanese was very sexy ❤❤❤!
Exact.
I found this in wikipedia regarding that crime: In 1968, one of Delon's bodyguards, Stevan Markovic, was found shot in the head in a dumpster outside Delon's home. Delon's friend, Corsican gangster François Marcantoni, was charged with accessory to murder. Delon himself was held by police for questioning, despite the fact that the murder took place in Paris, and Delon was filming in St. Tropez. Delon's then-wife, Nathalie, was also questioned.
@@lightningmcdweeb He was like Frank Sinatra. He hung around a lot of gangsters. But what's crazy is there were supposedly a slew of gangsters who died every time after they spoke with Delon.
Thank you for posting this. Very nice interview, it suprises me that he has such an excellent English. He should have done some more work abroad. But he's still great. One of the most charismatic french actors ever. And somehow still underated...
Pietra Chandler Radcliff So true about the "handsome complex". Gentlemen like Cary Grant, Paul McCartney have dealt with this. For some reason people can't except the fact that such handsome people can have all this talent.
Steven McKenzie so true! Critics never give Paul the credit he deserves. For example, their harsh reviews for his album Ram. I think that album is incredible!
What a wonderful interview! American meets Franch, simply great! I loved how Delon didn't decline his difficulties in understanding all the words, it was simply hilarious! :) Too bad you don't see him today in newer movies anymore...
@@lionelmertz4508 Vraiment impressionnant.
It's uncanny that even muslims / the brown folk acknowledge Alain Delon's beauty. They may hate White Men and Women all they want, but by lusting after White Women (and in your case, admitting Alain's remarkable looks) they show how envious they are of the White gene, and thus of White Men's, too. I always thought mohammedans can't conceive beauty, especially in men, for else they'd commit suicides on a race-wide scale for the sheer failure to comply with the standards of beauty that are as good as inexistent beyond the scope of Whiteness.
Am I the only one who thinks that Alain was not sure if Dick Cavett was making fun of him or laughing with him? Certain parts of this interview made me uncomfortable (especially 2 & 3).
It's the language barrier, as Alain didn't understand English idioms, so he thought Cavett was making fun of him. Also, Cavett acts weird as hell, like he is secretly attracted to him and jealous of him at the same time. And other things made Alain uncomfortable, like how Cavett wanted to push him to talk about his time in the military, a time that was very traumatic for Alain. He was just a kid and had very bad things happen to him during that time, and it's clear he doesn't feel comfortable talking about it, especially in public.
@@andromedastar4900 partly I think, but I did see that grin when he made it clear he would end that conversion, probably about females, and if he did think cavett was making fun of him he handled it well, I don't think with his intelligence and swave doubt it bothered him much,
There is for sure something wrong and unsolved about him and it might be marine or it might more probably during the time he spent with his foster parents. He never ever talks about them and if he had to he cuts off short. His head must be so complicated because I'm sure he has borderline personality disorder. I really wish I could get in his head. I just love psychotic people like him he's so interesting.
@@nopenever5107 Based on various things I read about him, his past including his childhood, I agree that he is probably harboring some trauma and deep seated issues, but why would you say he's psychotic?
This is the end of the interview with Delon. He stayed for another 15 minutes while the next guest was being interviewed, but the focus was no longer on him.
What is most impressive here is the way Delon behaves and interacts here, especially here... American people will not understand this because for them this interview is probably similar to any other interview in the US. It is a show, with elements of comedy and humour, with punchlines from time to time. This _tone_ could not happen on French TV. We've just started to have this the last two decades. And yet Delon is totally comfortable with it.
I'm from the Soviet Union. In the 80s we watched French movies and it seemed to us that the West lives better, more beautiful or something. Alain Delon, Jean Paul Belmondo, Louis Defunes, Pierre Richard and many others. This is largely predetermined the fact that we recklessly rushed into capitalism. Although life in the USSR was good and more promising. Of course there were other reasons, but the Soviet people loved French cinema and it played a role in promoting the Western lifestyle. Now we understand that life in the West is difficult and many Russians remember the USSR with regret.
Thank you, sir. When I watched football a few days ago, I saw a lot of good people in the Turkish team and among the fans at the stadium. It doesn't matter who won. I wish for the Turkish team, good football in Russia. Russia and Turkey are two countries with a great history that should cooperate with each other.
IGOR Capitalusm is not perfect by any means. Humanity has not found the perfect way to organize and live. But what humans really need is freedom, to live, to speak to think and not have any rotten system ruining their lives in any way. Not Capitalism nor Dictatorship. I only wish all my brothers and sister could live comfortably and happily with each other all over this planet. I hope some day for our children's' sakes humanity will figure out, we don't need more humans to overtake the planet and pollute it, but we need each other as friends.
Life in the West is shit for reasons like the happily consented to by the modern European cuckoldry invasion of the nonwhite / non-European muck into Europe. Alain Delon regrets it as much as I do (and every sane person would). Otherwise, the entire world is a shithole owing to the human muck populating it. On most counts, Soviets (and post-Soviets) are much worse than Europe: animal abuse is just as rampant (if not more!); most people are proletarian snots, etc. That said, without the mohammedan and black invasion into Europe, Europe would stand beyond comparison in values, the beauty of its people, in Culture and so forth - to any other continent, including Russia and the shithole republic of the SSSR, both current and former.
@@igor6080 Which great history? The invasion and appropriation of the lands comprising so-called "turkey"? The Armenian Genocide? The millions of White Women snatched away from their homelands, raped and tainted beyond repair and forced into shag-sual slavery? Halal slaughter? The hideous language, hideous traditions? The ongoing invasion of Europe by so-called "asylum", "gastarbeit" and the like? The destruction of much of the Great Armenia and Byzantium? Which "great history", I'm curious to know?
@@patriciajoubert426 Don't be naive, Patricia. Humanity is the vermin, generally speaking. Especially exotics / nonwhites / non-Europeans. The human condition is inherently parasitic (and evil!), therefore they need if not eradicating (the recourse of choice), then at the very least controlling.
Everyone is commenting on Delon's physical beauty but it was more that, It was his total essence. The complexity of character beyond the facade. The strong masculinity, coupled with a vulnerability which he exuded. His childlike enthusiasm combined with the exciting seductive rogue who could make you helpless when he gazed at you with those erotic eyes and sensuous smile. Delon was one of a kind. He will be a very hard act to follow, if not an impossible one. Adieu - Le Samurai ❤
You must be French to type in such flowery language. I don't think AD exuded vulnerability, NOT in the least. He exuded sleaze. ALL.the.fkg. time!!! The licking his lips = cocaine habit. Ah you type like a girl, LOL! Never ever got his appeal, never "fell" for his supposed charms but I'm not into bad boys, Him and Johnny Hallyday? YUCK! Same barf bag!
*sigh* I watched the first part and this was such an awkward interview, I watched th eother three parts on mute, just looking at him. he's so gorgeous! i'm very lucky to be able to watch his italian and french films in their original versions, because listening to french coming out of that pouty mouth...!! he's a really good actor, very serious with his craft
He's very very serious with his craft. Many people were uncomfortable to work with him, because he's a perfectionnist. Many people in cinema or theater are not taking their job serious enough. But he always had great respect for his fans.
Love him, slightly scares me, he is a. Scorpio, I can sence the intensity of his personality, controlling, dominant, passionate, wants something, goes and get it! and to top it up, impossibly gorgeous.
Ah, there's a little bit cut off, but thank you very much for uploading this. Very interesting, the back and forth. We don't quite see these kinds of interviews today.
He did not accept to do this interview if he knew that the host will have talk about scandals histories. That's why he tries to stay calm and keep control of this interview. Je t'aime Alain Delon.
I wonder where and how he learned to speak English so well? He's quick with wordplay and exchanges. Very smart. The only other person who came close to his beauty was Sacha Distel, who had a similar gorgeousness.
I also saw a British film, the Asassination of Trotsky, where Delon spoke English. He acting in this is excellent. Very different role for him, not stereotypical at all.
To everyone saying 'if he spoke English properly he would have starred in Hollywood blovk busters.... Then....he would not be Alain Delon we know today. The legend, the myth, the icon he is is very much because he was a Frenchman and French Star. There is nothing that could have made this man better. Alain Delon = Perfection He is considered an icon in all of Europe. in all European country the saying 'who u think u r Alain Delon?' is known amongst all men and women There will never be another person who has reached his mythical heights
