@@JM-fr3cd I do agree this league definitely ain't ya daddy's league. (So to speak) there is still is great deal of physical players like troy in the league providing the environment for those "showier" positions to score those points. This of course is just my opinion.
@@JM-fr3cd that's a bad take lol...sadly the game is less physical but that's exactly why TP would have had an even better career if he played in this *ERA* which is ridiculous to say but is definitely true...the man was quick, decisive, a great tackler, took smart calculated risks and had stellar football IQ...the type of DB the NFL NEEDS in today's game...He wasn't known for being a big hitter, he was known for always hitting, fantastic open field tackler, you piss him off he'd lay ya out but it took alot to get a rise out of the flyin' Hawaiian... literally the league today is tailor made for a man of his play style 😂
Dick is a legend just wants to coach defense for the steelers has no interest in leaving to be a HC. I remember watching him give Peyton Manning fits dialing up zone blitzes. One of the best coaches in the league
I'm glad he mentioned Carnell Lake! The only safety I ever witnessed, filling in for injured cornerback and making the pro-bowl as a cb. He was under-rated
Dick Lebeau is a class act. Took my son to Latrobe for training camp and he went out of his way to welcome us. As down to earth as anyone I've ever met. Went to the parade after the Super Bowl and watched Troy jump into the crowd and body surf! HERE WE GO!
Coach DL is such a great person off the field and a terror to opposing offenses on the field. To put in defensive packages that were for 10 players and give Troy free reign to go with his instincts says volumes about #43. One of the greatest defensive minds in the history of the game. Coaching one of the greatest defensive players of the game!
You could make a secondary with Mel Blount across from Rod Woodson with Ike Taylor in the slot, Carnell lake as a dime back/4th corner with Troy and donnie shell at safety and for the hell of it, throw minkah on the field. NO ONES PASSING on that. Then put mean Joe and cam Heyward on the line with James Harrison and tj at linebacker.
Love Troy, and there will never be another Dick Lebeau. I pray he is still as healthy as ever. The man is humble, smart, and a leader. The players loved him, and he loved them. He made watching that much more fun, because the players played for him and he was dedicated to them....special.
I was a bartender at a country club in Cincinnati, and Dick LeBeau was the nicest guy you could ever meet. Like Franco, he was a good friend of the common fan.
Dick LeBeau should write a book, he'd have great stories going back to playing for the Lions in the 60s. He was one of the great character in the classic book Paper Lion
🤙 the best thing I love about being Samoan is not being big and strong but having a big strong heart. I’m so glad Troy represents us and is a genuine good man
Chargers fan here. Troy one of my favorite players all time. Football IQ was off the charts plus his God given talent. Fun to watch! I hated him every time we played the Steelers but you have to give credit where credit is due.
Baby Jesus had it ALL n then some !! Even his Teamates were Baffled about how Good he was n how in the heck he made Plays !!! A TRUE Steelers Legend and one Amaaazing man n Human Being !! I agree ... wipe your tears with our Terrible Towels !! 😢 lol lol 😎 F........g Troy P Baby !!
A man who is a hof player played on the great Detroit lions of the 50’s with dick night train lane, and in my opinion the greatest def coordinator all time. So much football knowledge in that brain and for him to think of Troy like that speaks volumes.
You must have not watched Lions games very closely back then. He stood out as a terrible cover-cornerback. I hear he's a good defensive coordinator. That's great, but don't make him something he wasnt.
As a Bengals fan, love these guys. Lebeau grew up nearby in London Ohio. Mad respect for both of them and to a franchise we could only dream about having the history of success. We’re working on that.
No disrespect to any era, but Both Troy And Ed were the best Safeties ive seen to this day. Can't place one above the other, they were the end to some of the best physical football.
Hey you should really keep up with this page I know it’s a lot of work but I was glad as a fan of the Steel City and being able to follow up through here and get away from life! Thank you for a great year! Awesome channel.
