Dick's Last Resort Is Open In Daytona Beach, FL

We head to Daytona Beach, FL as the notoriously snarky restaurant, Dick's Last Resort opened their newest location last week. We expectedd full sass, but were treated to great service with super nice staff. This is our experience.

Great video! It's good to see another place in Daytona. They could of picked a better area though. Around there.

Ha! The bandshell has cover bands every Friday and Saturday night. Faux Kenny Chesney was playing when we were there. Gotta take whatever live music is around when it’s available. LOL. It felt like that Dick’s was never going to come. Hahaha

I live up in Jacksonville and had no idea one of these was open in Daytona. We'll make sure to head there in a few weeks!

Unfortunately they'd have been better off opening in Jacksonville. In Daytona, they will have a hard time finding people who want to work, or have any after-work interests other than boozing and pilling.

Lived in NSB area my entire life, Daytona or Dirt-ona as we call it sucks, I only go there if it is 100% necessary

Good policy. Why these places keep opening in Daytona where the quality of workers is so low, I have no idea. I mean, if the major restaurant chain that occupied that space before them couldn't make it with that view, how do they plan to?

I'm a Daytona Beach Local, and the location used to be a Sloppy Joe's. We stay away from Ocean Walk. We usually go to the Rooftop and Ocean Deck

"Stay away" from Ocean Walk? You don't say why? Allergic to amazing views or the historic bandshell? Ocean Deck has the absolute worst food, and service. Not sure why you'd plug them. It's been horribly bad for years.

What a hoot. We've eaten at the Sloppy Joes there and was surprised to hear this replaced it. The only Dicks I've seen is the one in Pigeon Forge.

I’m guessing that Sloppy Joes may not have had enough business to stay in that spot. They have a location on I Drive as well and it always seems pretty quiet when we go by.

It won't last long. Sloppy Joes is a pretty good chain and they didn't make it. It's Daytona.

We walked in there one night but the whole trash all over the floor thing really didn't do it for us so we left.

@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats Living it through your lens was enough for me haha. You’re right, International would’ve been more ideal. I heard they were building (or maybe built already) some sort of movie theater again at the ocean walk area so I guess they’re trying to grow that area.

Winghouse is still there (lower floor). This replaced Sloppy Joe’s upstairs.

Whoever is training the wait staff needs to do a better job. You don't "make" guests have fun, and if you're going to use sarcasm you don't explain first that you plan to use sarcasm, or that the place is "kinda crazy" when it looks pretty tame.
