Vandas and palm trees are a winner match. I have a Vanda tricolor attached to an areca palm tree, I give it absolutely no attention at all, no waterings or fertilizers, and it grows and blooms very well every year! Vanda's root systems on tree trunks are amazing, as they put out these looong and fat roots! By the way, is that a Cerulea form of Cattleya Lueddemanniana?
Can't get my Paradise to bloom, it's vigorous tho', tons of roots and 5 new growths. Would you be giving it higher light than most catts, or lower? My humidity is not always dependable, I must say...
It took me a long time to get mine to bloom - when it finally bloomed, it was loaded. Same light as my other catts - maybe, the plant just needs to be big - maybe you will get blooms on this new growth.....
Thanks for your comment. Growing conditions will impact how a flower presents itself - temperature, amount of light, fertilizer levels. etc. Sometimes, flowers will also change over time - it is not unusual for the flowers to change color a little as the flower ages. My flowers just opened recently - I may include the flower in another video, if it changes.... How different is it?
Mine has a darker purple/pink and more of it at the edges of the lip and petals. It also has a more pronounced flaring and edges of the petals have a pinkish outlining.
@@odlanoelsoler4348I just took another look at mine this morning to see if it had darkened - it has not. So, the different coloration may be a mutation from cloning but it is probably different growing conditions - maybe brighter light and a different fertilizer regime. I have seen some of my divisions look pretty different because then ended up in different locations.
@@plantpropagator how cool! Orchids are amazing. I made my first cross a few days ago and it seems to be looking good! Rlc. Taiwan Fantasy x Bl. Yellow Bird
