The entire moment can be summed up as... STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL YOUR THUNDER !! Steal your thunder, step in time Steal your thunder, step in time Never need a reason, never need a rhyme Steal your thunder, step in time
I love how he Willy Wonka-d the audience. At first he seemed like he needed assistance walking and then to dance with that much energy...Dick will forever be my celebrity crush
When this happened my whole family stood up and screamed. My sister and I cried, and my parents were in shock. Every time I watch this, I get chills, and I get so overwhelmingly happy that I tear up.
Saw this live there, lucky audience we were they had to re-shoot this whole sequence for whatever reason so we saw it all happen 2x, but omg when he first popped out I absolutely lost it. Talk about a dancer and performer I've looked up to my whole life. Met him the year before this as an extra on set of one of his films, such a nice man. Wish I said more and wasn't so shy 😂
Dan McKechnie it was a free ticketed event through a company that finds audiences for tapings, age wasn't a requirement to my knowledge though, probably just that was the age group using the company's services.
Show 'em how it's done, Dick! I got tears in my eyes by the crowd's reaction, standing up and cheering at the sight of him. It's the exact reaction he deserved. What a GIFT he is. Thank you for posting this.
This made me smile so much. I love his energy, he’s still as incredible as he was in his prime. Even happier the audience got all revved up by his appearance.
Can any one of us imagine being that beloved by that many people just by showing up? It's not like my friends are not happy to see me, but if my arrival got anything close to that kind of reaction from anyone (no, I don't have kids -- those of you who do, know something of what it is like), I think I would just be emotionally overwhelmed with gratitude and start sobbing. Wonderful clip.
I just watched this wonderful dance scene for the first time last night. I don't know why it was not screened a year ago in Australia but nevertheless I was totally thrilled and awed to see Dick Van Dyke still looking amazing and fit at his age. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole dance routine. Well done to everyone.
Dick Van Dyke might be 94 years old but he can she still got the groove for Mary Poppins and other ones is well. I’m so surprised that he is still acting. Have any of you met him before.
I want him to do Dancing with the Stars so bad! I know he says he's too old he's not to be able to keep up, honestly that wouldn't matter to me if he even was the first one to get eliminated.
I would love to see him on Dancing With the Stars as well, but I'm not sure it's feasible. While he can almost certainly dance any contestant right off the stage, he probably doesn't have the endurance for the long and often grueling practices anymore.
Well he is now 95 and having a grand time when he finally was awarded a Kennedy center honor. It aired last night, And Derek Hough performed this (and another) number. I haven't realized he had done it previously with Dick!
