You're not wrong. Bottom line, hit your free throws. That said. I'd hate to be any of the fans within ear shot of that. Imagine going to a game and being subjected to that. That shouldn't have been allowed. You can cheer, you can boo, but you can't shriek like a friggin banshee. If everyone were doing that, the game would be unwatchable.

Nobody is saying shut up during free-throws. They're saying the kid shouldn't be allowed to shriek like that in the arena. Other people are there to watch the game too. Who wants to listen to that 36 times when you just shelled out over $500? Not many, I'll tell you that. Whoever was with her should have told her to stop, especially considering her dads a pro. Demar likely wouldn't appreciate an opposing players kid doing that.

And the refs did not catch Dian in the act. If they were to catch Dian, Dian would have gotten a off-court technical foul that would be ejectable. Dian would be told to leave the stadium. But they did not flag her for the screams. Dian was allowed to stay for the whole game. The Raptors ended up doomed because of Dian.

They were picking her up because she was screaming. DeRozan definitely heard his daughter. He was interviewed about it after the game. You think he can hear her but not the Raptors?

No. At least I'm not. They're pros. Hit your free throws. My issue is that other people are there to watch the game. I know if I were seated beside that shrieking 9 year old, I would have wanted my money back. She may have had fun, but she ruined the game for the fans near her. Of course he would react, but if they kept playing the shriek every time he said "Raptors", he would not react to it after the first couple times. That was more to his point. The first couple shrieks, fine. After that, they knew the shrieks were coming and should've been able to not let it affect their shot anymore.

The old expression "Children should be seen and not heard" was made for this brat with her do-nothing mother beside her a few feet from the players at courtside. The loudest shrieks I have ever heard-what if she had brought 20 of her friends to do the same thing-and with bullhorns? The line has to be drawn somewhere...although the Raps still did choke. What GOOD parent would either praise their child for doing this and/or do nothing to stop it?

if the raptors wanted complete quiet they should have won in the bubble. The reason why the greats are trully greats is in part because they can ignore the crowd the pressure and everything else. No reason to be bad at her except the person sitting next to her. Everyone else should be quiet or better yet if you are a raptors fan attending the game be better at being loud when the opposing team is taking free throws like she was.

I don't feel bad for the Raptors. They blew a big lead, missed a ton of free throws, didn't make the stops, etc. People of all ages do all kinds of heckling at every sporting event, it is what it is. I do feel bad for anyone who was sitting in front of this girl for the entire game. Those are not cheap tickets and it must have been miserable...unless they were Bulls fans, which they would probably give her the assist. :)

Beyond ultra annoying, not only to the free throw shooters but especially to the fans, what I don't get is that game was played in Toronto, so I don't care if she's DeRozan’s daughter, you get the person she's there with to either shut her up or eject her. They eject fans from games all the time now for simple heckling, and that was way worse. If I'm a fan at the game near there, I'm getting security because at the price those tickets are, there's no way I'm tolerating that shriek for 3 hours, especially if it's bothering the free throws of MY TEAM!!!!! The fans really let their team down last night.

So would it be OK to yell through a bullhorn!?...and remember she was sitting only a few feet away from the players in a courtside seat with her mother who must have let this brat grow up like a weed. The shrieks were ear splitting and sounded like she was being strangled. The mother should have muzzled her or at least told her to tone it down and the ushers and the NBA refs should have also stopped it.

Grow up, don't be mad at a girl for yelling at a basketball game, be mad at the professional players that couldn't deal with the distraction. If the refs tell her to stop then they also have to tell their own crowd to be quiet when the bulls are shooting? Maybe they should play in a library? Also your bullhorn example sucks, they literally hand out megaphones for the fans to yell into at many basketball games. Fans create chants aimed at certain players or teams to try and distract them. It is built into sports, I could give you a thousand examples. The difference here was that fans are usually quiet when their own team is shooting thus making the opposing teams cheers more audible, watch the replay and listen to the Toronto fans when the Bulls are shooting free throws and tell me if they are making any noise or not.

Yes 1strule00 or is it Zach Boyer?... there is lots of noise, boos and yelling at many sports (not golf or tennis while the players are in action) but I have never heard the high decibels this girl shrieked. Yes the Raps blew it but I ask you, what if a Raps player's young kid went to a Bulls game and sat courtside and did the same thing shrieking at the Bulls players just as they shoot free throws?...you can bet the Bulls fans would be complaining just as I am. The level of this distraction was way above the usual waving etc. you see at every bb game during the free throws of the visiting team and I still say any good parent would tone it down with their kids but too many undisciplined kids these days are part of the entitled It's All About Me generation...and if this brat had not been Demar's daughter, I think the ushers or refs would have done something to stop the ear piercing shrieks. Anyway good luck now to the Bulls v. Miami but without this shrieker, I predict a Miami win.
