It was solely the shit made, uber skinny (cramping toes, foot function, and bone splay on impact, increased ankle rolability), elevated heel (leading to heel strike when running and shockwave up ankle, hip, knee), overly cushioned (no feel for the ground), nikes. If he had a trainer that understood feet, tendons, stabalizing muscles, ankles, achilles, and true methods of strengthening of these body parts, then D. Rose would have had wide toe box, slim sole, zero drop sneakers with no ankle braces and never have been injured.

not at all... His problem was the way he always landed after dunks. He would always land on one foot, in awkward ways. Not to mention when he did tear his ACL he landed in an awkward way, plus he should of never been in the game at that point. 70 seconds left, up by 12, and he already played almost the entire game at full speed, it was time for him to hit the bench and rest. If tom Thibs would of taken him out, as he should of, those injuries would most likely have never happened. If they did, it would of been after his first NBA championship that year with the Bulls. Because that team was built for a championship!

For all his crazy highlights, that layup is what really stuck with me the most, insane how he was able to convert that while being smothered by two very athletic dudes.

Also westbrook's 36 inch vert was recorded in 2008, and a new one was recorded to be above 40 in 2013. You can even calculate it by subtracting the height of an nba backboard from his height). Westbrook's most dunks in a season was 70, rose's wasn't even half of that. Also the most head to head posters rose got in a single season was 4 (maybe 5 depending on if you think the one on the pistons counted as a poster), while westbrook had 10-15 (again depends on how you define a "poster"). Rose was faster, but in terms of acceleration russ was superior. We can know this for sure by looking at how far they jumped before dunking as the same muscles are used. Westbrook's upper body athleticism is better for obvious reasons. So no rose wasn't more athletic. Tbh Rose probably would have been more athletic than russ and maybe even the best pg of all time (and assuming he improved at the same rate and never got injured, and was able to shoot 40% from three like he did in 2019), but if we are talking about peaks prime russ (16-17) is obviously more athletic and better than peak rose (10-11).

First year MVP. Nobody has done that. Not MJ. Not Kobe. Not Lebron. DRose was the epitome of a shooting star. His career never attained those heights again because of the injuries but it was glorious while it lasted that initial year. I'm really happy for today's DRose for continuing to have a solid role as a backup pg with the Knicks but during his first year DRose was the Man.

A lot of people refer to this version of DRose as prime Drose. I don't believe he ever reached his prime. Without the injuries, we would be talking about a generational talent and one of the best point guards to ever play the position. As a Bulls fan, he was everything we needed. IMHO, he got hurt trying to put his city on his back. He tried his best to win for Chicago. I will always have love and appreciation for this man.

To the layman, it looks like he's always almost losing his dribble but his movements are so fast and explosive, that , that's just how you dribble a basketball when you go the speed of Rose. Take it easy. Landing wrong when you have a 42 inch vertical is more likely to hurt your legs than if your vert is "only" 35. All leapers are subject to leg injuries. You're making it way deeper than it is with the "pushed his human limits to the extreme". Pretty much every pro athlete is doing that.

While you look at players like lebron who make sure they aren't landing body tiltled or legs locked. He's always both knees bent and shifted in from of him. And Rose was a quick and powerful player in a smaller body so the impact is more severe. You’re absolutely correct in ways to properly land and he could’ve avoided it if he was properly taught.
