It was ridiculous. Sure, Goku could plan to use the Super Dragon Balls to bring back everybody who was erased...but that is NOT Guaranteed to work. 1.) What if he's told to make a wish first and then everything gets erased? 2.) What if the Super Dragon Balls can't bypass/undo the power of the greatest being in the multi-verse? This is possible. 3.) If he fucking LOSES, then he'd have to hope and pray that the winner has his idea.
I totally agree with you... Goku is just.. dumb. He just calls out loud to universe 6 while the grand priest and TWO zenos are there. like wtf? he isnt even shocked that 11 universes are going to be destroyed, (and im not saying that everyone is gonna die, im talking about that they of course dont know whats going to happen) he is just like "I want to fight them etc., i know that a losing universe is going to be erased" like he cares just a bit. It couldve been a GREAT moment to make him really serious about anything. Including his friends, (you get the idea.) I just hate goku at this point :l

He let Vegeta go when Vegeta had stated he would come back to Earth and kill them all (and he would of if it wasn't for Frieza going to Namek), he showed Mercy to Frieza, he chose NOT to use the dragon balls to locate the androids a year early and instead risked the Earth, he gave Cell a senzu bean to Cell before sending his son to battle him when he wasn't ready, he played in Babidi's game knowing it was giving energy to Buu's shit, HE PUT THE FATE OF THE EARTH IN A 7 YEAR OLD AND 8 YEAR OLD WHEN HE HAD THE STRENGTH TO KILL FAT BUU.

I see your point, especially when Vegeta just let Cell transform in DBZ, but this is another matter, Goku is putting 11 universes on the line. Vegeta put the solar system on the line simply because he wanted to test his strength and Goku put the entire existence of 11 universes on the line simply because he wants to test his strength. Goku will probably either pull some bs and overpower the Omni-king or convince him not to let this happen. He can't just wish them because because the super dragon balls hidden in universe 6 will be gone, unless he gets them all and puts them in his own universe prior to the destruction.
Because this is wholly unlike the Goku they remember from 'Dragonball Z'. That Goku would not want to compete in a tournament if it meant 11 universes worth of innocent beings will be killed if they lost. Even if this was closer to the Goku Toriyama envisioned, we still expect him to show SOME smarts. The reason we don't lose our minds when Vegeta fucks up is because it's been established time and time again that Vegeta will literally put the Earth on the line for the sake a of a good fight -- or if the enemy stroked his pride enough.
Cyrus Perkins Maybe Vegeta becomes kind hearted??? or maybe Goku realizes later on and then fixes everything by winning the super dragon balls and wishing everyone back to life.

I also think they're gonna re-develop goku and even the entire mood of the series to a more mature one along with the animation changes I'm noticing :) There's still hope. I literally think this tournament will be gorgeous

I think we're all forgetting here that this whole thing is Beerus and Champas fault at its core. Sure Goku didn't help but Zeno wanted to do it before Goku said anything. Bottom line, Beerus and Champa don't have their bitch fest competition, no universal tournament.
I completely agree with you mate, I think a universe needs to be destroyed in front of Goku in order for him to realize the severity of the situation and that it was HIM who has caused. And hopefully this will help him mature and become a bit more serious in Dragon Ball Super.
Well or Gokus carefree autistic attitude will cause progression within the others fighters. Gohan for example or Vegeta can notice, that Goku has entirely gone mad. And that can get them another power boost. Goku will stay in this fight bubble for quite along time, i even predict he´ll be the one who gets a crushing defeat that will ground him. but before that Vegeta and Gohan are the ones that will take the lead and progress the furthest. Goku really needs to feel the weight of having his universe one step closer to extermination to realize what he has done by starting this insane tournament. up to that he will neither get really stronger nor mature as a character. after that point where goku get´s defeated he´ll get his shit together. And then it is to late. He´ll maybe attempt to steal the super dragon balls to undo the destruction of the destroyed universes and try to talk some sense zen oh sama. Probably ending with him temporarily confined or something like that, while the rest is fighting out there to protect their universes, putting finally a serious strain on Goku maybe allowing him to access some new powers. like that seemingly new transformation or perfect control over god ki in his base form, allowing him to win that thing and get everything back to normal.
the world tournaments are the origin of goku true fighting. I mean yes he learned how to fight from Gohan and fought a few enimes on the adventure but he never got the true drive to get stronger until the world tournaments came around after that getting stronger was his purpose and now bringing back the tournament in such an enormous way. it's a complete gold mine for the series if they play it out right also it's an amazing charecter development for not only goku but the rest of the fighters as well because they will all be fighting knowing entire universes are on the line. I'm extremely excited to see how it all plays out
Goku: Lets his kid fight planet busting aliens,super androids, a bio-engineered perfect being that has the genes of the strongest fighters in the world. Could've beaten a demon magic entity named buu in ssj3 but lets not only his kid but vegetas as well Lets an extraterrestrial warlard blow up namek when he couldve prevented it. and now hes literally putting everyone in jeopardy,everything,all the universes were just chillin and Goku puts everyones life on the line. Yeah hes clearly not all there.
+XI Fahad IX it's been theorized that he got the sword from future gohan, which is the sword that piccolo gave gohan as a kid. The sword is magical, and actually gets as long as the wielder of the swords wants. However that's just a theory. There is no way, that future trunks got his sword from tapion, unless we count the movie as canon, and assume that trunks helped tapion defeat Harrudgaun in his future time line.
Maybe... JUST MAYBE... (please don't kill me) Akira us being a bit realistic? Ok, I mean, that thing with Frieza was just... bruh. But maybe Goku became such a man child cause he's scratching ok the power of a God and somehow developed a weird complex cause he first thought the Super Saiyan transformation was the limit but then was able to go higher (SS2 and SS3). And as he then became the Super Saiyan God, maybe it just was enough, even for him. Or the whole Saiyan Personality comes out at once and he's turning into a War Hungry Fighting Machine XDDD (btw, yes I know Goku hit his head as he was a baby and so on) Sorry if that seems a bit... well... weird. I'm really just spitting out what was in my head rn. Maybe it makes any sense? I think that he will finally notice that he made big mistakes in this Arc. (Sorry for bad English)

I predict multiple possibilities: He goes against the omni-king and tries to prevent the destruction of other universes. Something happens during the tournament and someone else tries to destroy the omni king. Other universes are destroyed and he uses the super dragon balls to bring them back. The omni king enjoyed the battle and gives the condition that the universes may remain, on the condition more battles occur. (With Goku's suggestion.) Kind of curious if it'd be possible to seal the omni king.
I really hope what you say is true. I would like to see how he feels when he realizes he is responsible for the possible annihilation of entire universes. He realized his stupidity in having his teenage son go and fight Cell and deeply regretted it, going so far as sacrificing himself to make amends for his actions. Difference here is not only should he realize he has yet again made a serious stupid mistake, but now the fate of entire universes with their own planets, worlds, and people are going to die because of him. Imagine just how pissed off he will be. Hopefully it makes him attain a new for- ah who am I kidding, he better get a new form after he realizes his huge mistake.
I really hope that we will see some of Gohan's potential in this arc.Maybe it's just one of my weird ideas,but I think Gohan needs some attention because he is such a complex character.

The biggest difference between Super Goku and Z Goku is that Goku is actually present for entire story arcs this time. During Z Goku was only present for part of a story but never an entire arc.
theyre kinda making it into a gag comedy at this point beerus is making these faces in response to goku's lack of desire to take responsibility which doesn't convince me that this will be a serious issue. Gohan is more or less smiling as if he just doesn't give a shit about his universe being destroyed, they can do something, develop characters but I'm beginning to believe that this will be a Zamasu repeat.

It bugs me that Goku gets a free pass about the Universal Tournament arc. The way Zeno was going to erase the universes anyway before Goku said anything. So this retroactively excuses Goku's reckless actions.
i don't dislike Goku. but it really annoys me that Goku does not even care that entire universes are going to die because of him. He always says that he dislikes people who kill the innocent for entertainment. but that is exactly what Zen-oh is doing.
maybe he will ask zeno not to destroy the other universes by telling him he should host the tournoment every few years allowing the participants to get stronger and make for more entertaining battles🤔

Something that people who grew up on the English version of Dragonball Z either don't know or forget- Funimation made MAJOR CHANGES to Goku. This version of Son Goku is the way that Akira Toriyama origionally wrote him. He has actually stated in multiple interview that he absolutely hates the way the character was re-written for the majority of foreign audiences because Goku is supposed to be an immature child who only cares about getting stronger and finding more powerful enemies to fight. The DBSuper version is what Goku is supposed to be like. Selfish and only caring about his "friends' when doing so does not interfere with him fighting.
The Grand Priest said that Zeno had already intended to destroy the weaker universes. Goku is in the 2nd from the bottom. What that means is that if Goku had not confronted Zeno Sama about the tournament he promised than Goku's universe would have been destroyed without warning. In short he gave his universe a fighting chance.
The winner team gets the super dragon balls,so what if goku uses them to revive all the destroyed universes(including the ones destroyed already).Any thoughts?
It pains me to say this ... I love Goku from DB to Super in every anime and manga, but he is the Homer Simpson of the entire anime/manga world. That's what has made him loveable, because he is so unaware of situations, circumstances, and consequences. But now, it's like WTF...11 universes, possibly his own being completely wiped out of reality. Way to go, hero. P.S. At least Homer Simpson has shown glimpses of being somewhat stable and present father-figure. Have hard time arguing that with Goku.

I think Goku's character should be more in line with Vegeta who is the new Goku. Vegeta should remain bad ass rather than being 'father and husband of the year'.
