Buying too much stuff is an easy trap to fall in to. I reveal the loco fleet on my own 00 gauge layout, explain why I bought them or have them here. Sorry about the noise from the Peak Class 45…..forget where the mute button was…but anyway….enjoy….
I have fallen into the trap of buying "too many" locos - over 100 of them. But for me, this has nothing to do with status, it's all to do with having a choice of locos to run and, of course, not all at the same time! I too have my favourite locos - I really love the sound of the Class 37 and some of its stable-mates. I love your attitude of not just binning non-working locos and using them as static models on the layout. Good luck with the servicing and repairs.
@@PaulSmith-pl7fo Many thanks for your continued support Paul. I do realise that not everyone associates stock quantity with status and I possibly should have made that clearer in the video. The repairs/upgrades to my own fleet for my private layout will take place in due course. i also said that the 33 was probably my favourite loco of all time but since releasing the video I forgot about the Hymeks and Westerns that I also really love. Too many locos = too many mistakes maybe lol
nice collection of locos, i have a collection of hornby pacers that i keep meaning to upgrade to dcc, ive just put a new motor into an original old hornby br blue hst so it could be dcc fitted
Sounds great! Very easy to discard old stuff and buy new but then we cease to become scale model engineers :) Many thanks for viewing and leaving a comment :)
Ive got far too much stuff … I got carried away when retuning to the hobby and working abroad .. the perils of e bey. However a lot of the stock I bought was lower quality , and my range or area and epoch was too wide. Sorforthilfe the last few years I’ve sold more than I’ve bought. So now I have less stuff ( Slightly) but it’s higher quality and a more focused collection …
WE all have had similar experiences I think. Part of me thinks why bother to fix/upgrade my old stuff when newer and better is out there but I keep coming back to my ethos that we are all scale model engineers so why not keep older items going? Many thanks for viewing and taking the time to comment :)
Correct sir and very well spotted.....A senior moment as an old man tries to mke another interesting RU-vid video :) Many thanks for your time and your comment
I don't throw anything out. I still have a jinty I got for Christmas about 56 years ago and my older brothers princess which needs a little work. I don't buy new models to replace older ones either.
That is so good to know. I still have the Jinty that my father bought. It is at least 60 years old now and it still works! It all just shows that quality at the point of manufacture will always stand up! Thanks for viewing and taking the time to leave a comment :)
