That watch will keep working if you replace the battery. Seiko makes a very durable watch. Not a cheap watch either. Nice find! I would wear it as an every day watch.
Outstanding video Mr. HistoryHunter. I had to go back and listen to it a couple of times because my ears have gotten older and I didn't realize that my wife had been in my office on the computer and she had turned the volume down. No wonder I was having trouble hearing you. A watch like a Seiko is a great find because those folks make very good and expensive watches. You keep a digging and keep the videos a coming and we will keep watching your WW II History lesson. All the best, Chevy
Some good finds here especially the time travellers watch! He came back to that spot in 1939 from 2062 to see what was happening but sadly got shot and his watch stayed in the past until YOU found it HH!
Awesome videos as always..A big cup of coffe in the morning and watch some videos when you exploring is a nice start of the day..Thanks for the great videos you make :)
There is something about being in the woods or forest which so relaxing. Am impressed with how you can notice all the features while in an area were the Germans were at. Nice find on the watch . Might be something nice for Eagle Eyes when he gets older.
Sir you have earned a new subscriber. I've been binge watching your videos for a few hours now and I must see more. I want to support you and thank for for sharing everything.
I metal detected my garden/yard the other day and found nothing except from a milk carton lid and an old metal mustard pot from about 1950s to 60s. Love the vids keep up the good work Josh
Nice video as always....i nice forest walk......it doesnt always matter that u dont find a great deal. Its just listening to you and absorbing your enthusiasm.

6:33 Trees always grow toward the most available light. Usually if they have to grow around something they’ll scar where they touch. Hard for me to see but it looks like something fell and bent it over when it was small and flexible. As soon as it grew free it turned 90° up again. Looks like healed damage at that 90 as well. With a little knowledge (From the right person) I’ve learned to read the forest a bit. My friend can point out features that tell it’s story back 100 years in some places.
To be fair- Seiko divers have looked pretty similar over the years. The 007/9 was introduced in the late 90s but the 7002 was before that, and it kept on going.
If you look at the back plate of the watch, it will have a series of numbers which will allow you determine the age. The serial number is usually 6 digits, the first number being the year of manufacture. There is also the movement and case type (4 digits - 4 digits). I have a 7548-7000 with a serial number of 8D, and battery change date of 81, which says my watch is a 7548 type, with a 7000 movement, manufactured in December 78, based on 3 year battery change. If you would like to know what age your watch is, I'd be happy to help.
Very nice hunt! Seiko is a very popular brand here in the U.S. They have been around for quite some time and are known for making a good watch. I would say they are at the same level as Timex. GL & HH to you!
I asked for a Seiko watch for a gift years ago. It wasn't an expensive one, only $250.00. I had always thought Seiko was an excellent brand but my watch died after about 14 months and the warranty had expired so I was left with a watch that would cost more to repair than it cost initially. Guess I got a Monday morning lemon.
Sorry to hear that. I've definitely experienced that with other items and it's not fun. I've owned three Seikos. I destroyed one of them. Completely my fault (always check your pockets before throwing your pants in the wash. lol). The other two were my grandfathers, so they are at least fifty years old, and still work perfectly.
The 7C43-7000 seems to be a North American and/or International model and can be easily identified by the use of “QUARTZ” and “SQ” markings on the dial with the Suwa symbol on the edge by 3 o’clock. The 7C43 makes a notable entry in the Tokunaga Watch Museum with the following entry: No.010 Professional 200m diver's watch (Analog quartz movement : 7C43) Expand Commercialization: in 1986 Feature: The best-seller professional 200m diver's watch model which attained the performance in 200m saturation diving. The movement is [7C43] which has the same performance as that of [7C46] and smaller size, and magnetic-resistant ability with the high reliability of higher output torque. Although the case structure is a standard type two-piece case (with screw case back) specification, there are 15 new technologies in this case such as; the powerful glass screw ring fixed structure same as 600m with the same glass fixing structure, L shaped glass gasket structure, glass screw ring fixing structure, twin side shield crown structure, special elastic strap made from polyurethane rubber of SEIKO original strap. This description indicates what puts the 7C43 above many other Seiko quartz divers outside of the Tuna series is the anti-magnetic shield and the crystal retaining ring with the L shaped gasket.
great video great finds and a good watch nice to find a bullet but the fox hole is a badger oval hole but still great finds looking forwards to the next video take care as you bring great things to see take care good friend all the best
This particular watch dates from 1980's . Some models didn't need a battery as it winds via a pendulum that keeps it ticking as long as you wear it. I have one, I purchased it in 1983.
At 4:00; that could be a meteorite if it's heavy. ; ) Really though getting know what a meteorite would look like in the wild is a good thing to know for any person out there swinging a metal detector.
Nice watch Hunter, you can still buy that model today because it was and still is a quality watch. Good outing and I loved the fox hole in the fox hole comment. Great video as usual.
What a very nice watch you found , I bet it works with a battery installed , I have found 2 wrist watches myself but they were toast ! HA HA ! Happy Hunting , Look forward to your next video ! Dirt Hawk !
All the holes in the aluminum pieces were put there to lighten the weight of them. When finding the iron cartridges, can you estimate a time frame of their manufacturing date? Maybe like in 1944 they started using iron to make them? The fox in the foxhole must have been a German fox lol. The watch cleaned up very nice. Did I notice both watches stopped on a Thursday? Another nice adventure.
