The suicune had a damaged side on the back left of the card you could see it directly under the light

When they give u a 5, that means they labeled it damaged. If there's a crease or small indent...automatically a 5 or lower. I found out the hard way lol

With how inconsistent PSA has become since covid with no end in sight ( only getting worse every day ) I would take my chances with BGS. Sure they’re a harder company to get 10s especially black lables but their strict authentication process is why their cards sell for more than PSA. Also BGS becomes exponentially cheaper the more valuable your cards are, their upcharging is very modest, PSA is nickel and diming you for everything. Oh you have a $10,000 card??? Thats going to cost $500…

PSA submissions seem like a bit of a lottery to me. Mucj rather save my money and buy raw cards that I like and put them in the binder. Would consider buying graded of 10s in a small selection of cards thiugh but never submit my own

I get that people want only 10’s but card grading has gotten out of hand. A 9 is a fantastic grade, heck so is a 7 or an 8 considering some cards come pack-fresh that would score a 5 or a 6. PSA isn’t in the wrong, it’s the collecting community’s unrealistic expectations 😅👍

Someone by me has a psa 9 and an psa10 charizard ex from obsidian flames. He wanted $250 for the 10 and $55 for the 9… if I had cash I would’ve bought the 9 considering how many boxes and packs I bought and never got that card. Maybe next time

Compared to my first PSA sub, you crushed it - granted modern does better than vintage and I sent a lot of vintage when I started back. Either way, it shows you are a good evaluator of raw cards and that is what grading is all about.

That’s happened to me twice with PSA…cards that are clearly 10’s have come back as a 5. Not sure if on their keyboard the number 5 is next to the number 10.

Have you thought of purchasing a mid range high definition scanner to have a good look at your cards before submitting to BGS or PSA ? It's not necessary but it would be fun

Doesn’t matter how your cards look in a 20 micron depth laser industrial scanner. Your cards could be physically perfect in all criteria and its still a dice roll on what PSA grades your cards. On the flip side I’ve seen 10s with gouges and creases able to be seen from orbit… I swear PSAs authenticators are all 90 year old men with glaucoma using rulers and magnifying glasses to calculate each card grade.
