My son recently stayed in a haunted hotel in Naples, N.Y. He said there were yellow and blue orbs floating around in his room, and a vase would appear and disappear on top of a dresser.
The flashlight flickering timing was quite neat and spooky. The nightmares I think are pretty typical with priming and I've had similar events happen camping or spending the night telling scary stories with friends. Thanks for sharing the experience, hopefully it doesn't impede on future curiosity!
I don't mess around with any of this anymore. I don't even watch horror movies or do the cemetery for Halloween. When you go to the fridge at night in the dark and you get the tingly feeling on the back of your neck, it means there's something there with you. Sometimes those somethings are very difficult to get rid of. The last thing you want is to be inviting them in. Also don't sleep in view of mirrors.
That flashlight, omg. This Fainting Goat Inn is so interesting, so cool how you manage to find these places, actually got nervous when the music stopped playing hahaha. But honestly what's the deal with this flashlight? That alone should be proof of the paranormal?!?! Omg. I liked hearing about your personal experience, and the video was incredibly well made!
Haha the flashlight thing was pretty strange, but it only happened that one time, even when I asked for it to happen again. So maybe it was just a fluke? Or maybe the ghost got bored and left...(and returned at around 3:30AM)
I was searching for videos for Fainting Goat, and came across your video. You're so sweet and soft spoken..but I just wanna mention 1 thing.. if you do get any kind of responses, just be sure to thank them for responding to your questions. And in the 2nd video, when the flashlight was on and you asked a question, you could see all the shadows in the background, moving around.. It looked pretty cool.. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed it.. Thanks for the video :)
If you ever make it to Savannah GA, book room 204 at the 17Hundred90 Inn. I’ve stayed at this Inn many times and every time I stay in room 204 there have been legit paranormal encounters. Our last stay there was New Year’s Eve 2022 and my leg was pulled twice in the night, and not very gently. I’m sure it wasn’t the resident ghost of Anna, but it was an aggressive spirit of some kind. It didn’t frighten me, but it woke me up out of a sound sleep. Twice. The next day, when I was fully awake, is when it started freaking me out. Can’t wait to go back. The Marshall House is also quite haunted, but skip the Kehoe House.
Love the video, and its really cool to see stuff covering places local to my area. Actually researching Haunted History Trail landmarks trying to build a ghost hunting themed tabletop RPG campaign (like DnD) based out of the Central New York and Finger Lakes area and that's how I came across this. I also like to try to break down what might be happening in these kinds of videos from a skeptical angle, and the fact that you included two very different locations brings some interesting observations. First, both you and the Haunted History Trail site mention most of the stories for Parkview as coming from the owner, while Fainting Goat Island has recorded experiences from guests. However, you mentioned yourself how Parkview is made to be very homey and comfy, while Fainting Goat Island is laying on the "haunted" aesthetic from the moment you step in the door all the way to a notebook of other guests' prior experiences in the exact room you're staying in, so I wonder how much the priming at Fainting Goat Island plays in psychologically setting you up to experience things, as its not at all a difficult thing to do and becomes especially effective once you turn the lights off. Second, while you were trying to communicate with the spirits at Fainting Goat Island, I did notice a correlation between when the flashlight flickered and the microphone picking up the noise of nearby cars, as well as not flickering when you asked for interaction and it wasn't. Having lived in a very old house along a busy street in Corning growing up, I can definitely say that it does not take much at all for the vibrations of passing vehicles to be felt. I can't really say whether I believe in ghosts or not, as I've definitely wavered back and forth. My parents and I all recall strange occurrences at the house I grew up in, up until the day we moved out, however I also prefer to look at things from a logical angle before making conclusions. At the end of the day the brain is a wildly imperfect flesh machine that absolutely has the capability to lie to us about reality, and trying to check that can lead to insight about how the world functions and interacts with itself that we would otherwise overlook, which I find almost as exciting as potentially finding something supernatural.
Thanks for this thoughtful comment. I edited the voice recording session--nothing of interest happened (light turning on or off) at any other point than what's seen in the video, despite cars going by the whole time. So I'm not sure if that was the culprit. Not saying it was a ghost, but I don't think car vibrations changed it. I keep wondering about whether I was primed to have an experience at the Fainting Goat Island Inn, and I'm just not sure. On one hand, I knew it was a "haunted" inn, I had read about other people's experiences, and what happened to me fits the bill of sleep paralysis. On the other hand, I have never had a sleep paralysis-like experience before or since. Ever. Also, I watch horror movies *literally* every single evening, I consume horror content almost exclusively, and I've never had an experience like this. I'm pretty skeptical about a lot of "ghost evidence," but I'm truly just not sure what I experienced that night. One of the strangest things that's ever happened to me!
Park View Inn seemed pretty familiar to me. When i looked throuh what your captured, i realized it looks exactly like number 1408 from Stephen King short story. At least what i imagined when was reading it.
The house I bought in 1996 has a part that is hundred plus years old which is definitely haunted. We named her Millie” middle-aged woman wears a burgundy dress…I’ve seen her on two different occasions. “ events” happen randomly no real pattern, although I must say that over time her occurrences have become less frequent. Things that she has done include: 1.Knocking books off of shelves 2. Turning the TV/ CD player off. 3. Moving the arrow on a computer screen ( how she did that without moving the mouse is beyond me) 4. Unexplained footsteps. 5. cold spots in the house that occur with no explanation. .5. Orbs 6. Doors opening on their own.7. Faint Singing ( church hymn type) in the wee hours of the morning. That has not occurred in a long time. I’ve never felt frightened or in danger.
Fun! I’ve thought about staying there at Fainting Goat, since it isn’t too far from me. Hopefully someday soon. Maybe for Walpurgisnacht. 😈 I do wish you’d left the flashlight on the nightstand, though, where it couldn’t be accidentally jostled by your own movement. It’s a tricksy business, this ghost research! Something to keep in mind for next time, perhaps.
The Fainting Goat was a lovely stay, ghosts aside! The homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning were delicious. There's actually a moment in the raw footage where I rocked back and forth on the bed to see if my movement had caused the flashlight to change, and the flashlight didn't change. But you're right, next time I'll place it on a separate surface to be doubly sure, thanks!
We are investigating this place in 2 weeks and we will show the world what is there. Spirits can come in dreams...and the Flashlight trick is not something we would use as it's not concrete and can just be cause if the losses connection.
My husband and I stayed at the parkview inn in room 305. We experienced hearing tapping on the walls at night and something touching a paper bag we had in our room. But it was a very minimal experience like yours. We are also planning on staying at the fainting goat soon😀
My son has stayed there three different times. Alpine Room the first time, Angora the second time and The Fainting room the 3rd. I have stayed there twice (Fainting and Angora) My son said that he shut the door to the middle room that shares the bathroom with the Alpine Room. Went into the bathroom again later and the door was completely open. In the Angora room he got woken up at midnight with a strong feeling of something watching him. The same night in my room (Fainting) I sat up in bed and was looking at the door. I said "please don't scare me". And a man replied with "I won't". And I fell back to sleep. The next time we switched rooms. I got EVP's of a women in the Angora Room. My son experienced being touched and being held down in the Fainting Room.
Wow, it sounds like you and your son experienced a ton of phenomena there! I really want to go back and see if anything happens to me a second time. It's really stuck with me.
sounds like sleep paralysis to me. you were primed to experience it because of that spooky experience before bedtime too. as for flashlights flickering... that happens a lot to pen lights, tho the timing was pretty cool xD
It definitely fits the bill of sleep paralysis, I agree! It felt surreal, because I didn't feel particularly on edge before sleep, and I'm also big into horror films, spooky experiences, ghost hunts, etc. So it's strange that suddenly I would experience sleep paralysis for the first time in a place like this. Very unusual indeed
U must be 1 of those people who are so brave to sleep in remote and old places. I don’t think I would be able to stay over night even if I was offered a $million dollars. No mam!! Thank you!🙈
Cool and atmospheric, though 1st place not so much. I don't believe in the paranormal, but it's very interesting. By the way, have you shown your movie yet?
