You don't have to explain when it comes to allergies, I truly understand. I wear a mask when mowing my lawn. Continue to make great videos. No one understands watery eyes, sneeze non stop, itchy ears, and nothing worse than taking medication that you want to work immediately. Great yard and video. Thanks!

Just found out why my back yard wouldn't green up with iron or fertilizer I seeded it a year or two ago and most of it is poa the blue grass that is there is deep green but I have a real problem with that lime green grass I will try your method I too tried tenacity without results

I have this nuts edge killer now. I have poa in my Bermuda and a lot of it in one part of the lawn. Just infested in that smaller part where I can’t pull it up because my hands cramp up after so much pulling. Then looking back doesn’t even make a dent! I will have to try the cup of nuts edge mixed with water and try to spray that area. I don’t know what else to do!
@ronaldmarconetto

can you post a link on where you got the bag attachment please?
@theclassick1
@theclassick1 3 года назад
Tenacity takes a little longer to show it's working. Of course the suffactant helps it to stick to the weeded area and using a dye not only let's you see where you're spraying but colors the ugly end result. Not a big fan of a total grass killer just because it's a longer process for the green up. Your lawn is awesome so the bounce back should be pretty quick.
@kesm66
@kesm66 3 года назад
Thanks for sharing your DIY lawn care journey. I despise PA as well and have a bit of it in the lawn. Unfortunately the Tenacity label indicates it’s not for warm season grasses (like I have). I may try it (spot treatment) when the Bermuda’s dormant along with a granular herbicide (Barricide) in late August/early September for a pre emergent approach to stop seed germination.

That metal is hotter so it stresses the grass more. Sidewalks and utilities are notorious for it.

Nice to meet someone near by (Pierce Co.) with the same lawn issues except I'm about a year behind you. It's been difficult to find good lawn videos in cool weather/cool lawns. My backyard is mostly a ryegrass 3 way blend, but I think there was Poa in with the seed so about 1/2 of it is now Poa. I tried killing it off with Round up a couple years ago but naturally it came right back because of all the seeds still in the ground. It was like I did nothing. I just got my Tenacity and my surfactant should be delivered in the next few days. I plan on using it soon before it gets too cold but I'd also like to over seed. From your earlier comments it took months to get the seed to start growing, would it help if the seed was pre-soaked in your opinion? The process is probably going to take years of Fall and Spring spraying and over seeding, but I'm hoping to get ahead of it so I don't have to do a total kill. I use an old English reel mower called a Webb, it's only 13" wide so it puts down a lot of stripes when the lawn isn't full of Poa, however!
@YardBrah
@YardBrah 9 месяцев назад
Aye I have a Webb myself 😂🤙🏾 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bcp3neFHKDE.htmlsi=YG75WTdLwc51guN7 So I renovated this season full rye 3 cultivars as well… to combat poa I use prograss ec (ethofumesate) it’s the best I havnt seen poa in 2 seasons. I just sprayed prograss ec a couple weeks to prevent the spring then I’ll spray it again in spring just to be safe. Lawn has never looked better check out the recent vids to see the new rye 😊🤙🏾

It appears that you have a fescue lawn. If so, be careful with cutting it too low, (lower than 4 inches). Also, putting down milorganite or any other products without doing a soil test may lead to problems. Poa is best treated in the fall with preventing germination but to be fair to you, it is one of the toughest weeds to deal with. You may also benefit from watching other YT lawn care stars, (as I have), like "the lawn care nut", "Ryan Knorr Lawn Care", "GCI Turf Services", "Pauls Prime Cuts." Finally, your edges turn brown because they're next to concrete and the heat is burning it up. Extra watering does help. Mine does the same thing, especially since I have an asphalt driveway.
@YardBrah
@YardBrah 3 года назад
Thank you so much! Yes learning my grass types as the channel grows... reason why it looks so good cut at 3-4" like you said. I will be looking into grass types that can take a low cut turf for my summer plans! Thank you for the advice and thank you for watching!!!!
@brianfolding40
@brianfolding40 3 года назад
@@YardBrah Well, most of the warm season grasses can stand to be cut low. Bermuda being the dominant variety in this category. Depending on where you live, (what zone), determines what will work best for you. If you already have a fescue lawn then transitioning it to Bermuda would be a giant project and if you live in a cool season zone and try to grow Bermuda then you would most likely be disappointed and broke. Please follow and or subscribe to the folks that I advised, save yourself a lot of trouble and money.

Hey Brah! I know that this video is 2 year old, but I have a problem with POA in my cool season lawn here in CT. I was wondering if you still recommend using a combination of Tenacity and half a cup of Nut-sedge Killer (Ortho)/gallon of water to get rid of it? Thanks in advance!
@YardBrah
@YardBrah Месяц назад
This will just kill the poa and everything around it was very hard to recover in the summer. Ethofumesate is the best for poa Annua and velocity for poa triv 😊🤙🏾

I am in Washington State! Just a forewarning it took pretty much the entire spring and summer for those patches to grow back after the overseed... this year I am going to use a plugger tool and then fill the spots in with new soil.. video will be coming soon in a couple weeks when I overseed 😊🤙🏾

@@YardBrah Oh, I see. I will keep a lookout for your next video. Thank you so much for sharing your tips! If it takes the entire spring and summer for your patches to grow back after the overseed, I don't think I have any chance in a ski resort (elevation 8,800 feet)! Did you mix in Tenacity with the nutsedge killer for the Poa? I see the nutsedge killer comes in a hose end sprayer. Did you just dump 1/2 cup of it into another sprayer I assume? Just clarifying. Thanks in advance.
@YardBrah
@YardBrah 2 года назад
