Did I just qualify for the Olympics? 

Zurich Seville Marathon, 13th Place, 2:08:01 and Olympic Standard.
Some thoughts and elaborations below ⬇️
This build featured- 4th place @manchesterroadrace, a race I was extremely proud of. My first Sub-4 mile, and a half marathon personal best (1:01:02).
I had a strong and healthy build and this was my 8th marathon.
Those are all really good reasons to believe things were gonna go really well in Seville. But I think it’s important to share that even with a lot of good reasons to believe good things were coming I wasn’t sure I could run the Olympic Standard until the final 50 meters of the race.
I still can hardly wrap my head around this. Years of figuring this out, figuring myself out. I can now train confidently, show up to start lines knowing that I’ve done what needs to be done to compete.
From here I will act as if I am preparing for Paris, knowing full well I still need to wait till May 5 for the competition window to close and selection to be final, and there are certainly a handful who will chase the standard and can bump me off my spot.. but I did my part.
I’m excited to use the experience I gained in Eugene and Budapest to attack this next challenge: I was top 20 at the previous 2 world championships. My aim will be higher next. 🫡🙏🏼
