@@CR12221 Realistically speaking, if a gun is being custom made at thousands of dollars, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to customize the handgun. Especially because a solid 80% of business is marketing alone. That's where Staccato got the majority of their business from despite how expensive they are. If they did what Stealth Arms does for their pistols, they'd probably get *a lot* more sales, just because fancy builders make people go goo-goo-ga-ga on websites. Look at every auto maker website on the planet. They've got a big fancy builder. It's because people buy more of expensive products when they can "Customize" that product more.
@@CR12221 I completely understand but at that price point…having very few personalization options is pretty damn pathetic in my opinion. That’s just my opinion though. Take it with a grain of salt.
I wish you'd "secret shopper"ed this because you know once someone from STI sees this video someone's going to at least personally follow your order to make sure nothing is screwed up. (Maybe via a lawyer or dealer friend to avoid any straw purchase implications.)
The coupon code is meant for Military/First responders. When received Staccato tells you not to share the code. Someone obviously shared it. I imagine they will shut that down eventually with people sharing it. There’s also a 15% off with extra mags for active LE, though staccato says it only works with accounts on file.
@@ChristopherGoydich-cb6bd As far as I understand, slamming the slide down on a chambered round is what causes damage the extractor. On an empty chamber, there is no way for the extractor to go under any undue flex or wear. When dropping the slide on an empty chamber, its usually the sear & hammer that gets worn/experiences undue stress. On a normal 4-5lb trigger this is pretty much negligible. However, if it's on a race gun with a 2lb or less trigger job, that's already on the edge of reliability. From there you'll experience problems from dropping the slide on an empty chamber. Again, this is as far as I understand.
The store i work at is a staccato dealer. Ill say your better off ordering it. We barely get product from them its kinda a shit deal for dealers in my opinion. Yea we get them occasionally but i probably transfer 5 for every 1 i get. Which the store makes nothing on because of the dealer program. But you get the gun you want if you order it rather than settle for what the store happened to have.
"Staccato's a Gucci brand". lmfao, uh no. It's a Gucci price on something similar to a Timex. Based on your original post on this, I'm confused. If you wanted a "Duty" type gun to mimic what your LE students might carry the P seems a better fit. If you wanted a custom 2011 or double stack 1911 then Atlas or Hayes or any of the custom builders would seem to fit those criteria better. I highly doubt this is going to be something in between. Good luck with it.
You got the right Staccato in my opinion. They used to offer custom ingraving. If thats what you want I'd contact them direct. They've always been helpful to me when I've had questions on orders. Agree Stealth Arms site is way easier to use as far as specing out a gun. I built my platypus on their site just the way I want it while drunk. Its a thing of beauty😅
Cool to see how many people are getting on the 2011 train. Was shooting with some buddies today, and got to use a JGC 2011, and honestly, that gun was disgustingly fast...my Prodigy is fast, but I still have some tweaks that will let it get to where I'm trying to be with it.
I ordered a P I September on a great LE discount with 6 mags and it was ready in two months. Just ordered another SRO so I should be ready for LO soon!
Ben, have you thought about buying an Archon type b? Given the unique design and price point, Id be curious to see how it stacks up for semi serious comp shooters.
Good lord, that’s expensive for a “custom” gun (a/k/a production gun chucked into a laser engraving fixture before hand assembly) with a few mags and a Holosun dot. Nearly $5K is getting into “gunsmith-built 1911 with a 50-yard accuracy guarantee” territory… for a Gucci duty gun.
@@joeyassyrian it’s getting real close to AccuracyX pricing, and those come with either a 1” at 25y or 1.5” at 50y guarantee, depending on what trim level you pick.
Ben, Great job putting companies on blast for the discount code/special pricing BS. I hit up your pro shop often because the prices are good and consistently stay that way. I spend my money at places where I feel like I'm getting treated fairly. Companies should always put their best price out there, whatever that price may be for them. Side Note - I'm going to have your unicorn engraved on my CZ's - you can shoot them anytime you want since Staccato won't do it for you! 🤣
@@phillandall3159 didn’t suggest it did. It’s a professional discount they may wish to extend to someone that works with LE and military regularly. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t offer discounts to some professional instructors.
I ordered one through the site, a steel P, and I just got the shipping notification in less than 30 days without the rush job add on. I didn’t customize it any which way don’t know if that makes a difference.
Ben do you have to replace mag springs on the cz I got a staccato cs and the mag spring don’t last 3 months. Just had to order aftermarket ghost inc springs hope they last. Slide Doesn’t lock back. Can’t leave the mags loaded springs get week.
I wouldn’t really say Stac is Gucci. They’re like the baseline for 2011s. Nighthawk is more “Gucci” and so is Accuracy X. Stac is just a well done mass produced 2011.
Have you done the 2011 thing in the past? The atlas guns have my attention considering the staccatos are pretty cookie cutter. There are a lot of high end brands out there and a lot of people probably have their preferences. I don’t think you’ll be slaying times unless it’s from a boost of confidence.
@@Rubeless yeah, relatively little benefit/improvement for way more money lol Though tbf that seems to be a problem with the firearms industry in general, not just Staccato
Ya you sound like you went into this expecting Staccato to be a custom gun maker. They're not. They're just a production gun company. they do a pretty decent job at making the bare minimum production 2011, making it reasonably reliable, and putting out a consistent product... which is why the P and the C2 are so successful. You're in for a disappointment if you're expecting hours and hours of hand fitting or custom shop levels of choices in your firearms. That's not who Staccato is. While Infinity and Staccato are both offshoots of the same original STI company... they're worlds apart today and you sort of sound like you wanted an Infinity but got lost on the way to the website and ended up with a Staccato, and that's a shame because at inflated XC pricing (that gun is absolutely NOT the deal that the P or C2 is) you could almost buy an Inifinity.
Ok - so seriously, he’s totally punking ya’ll by getting an XC so that he can then run a stock Glock just as fast and remind ya’ll that ya can’t buy skill … don’t encourage this behaviour as it’ll only lead to a cycle of shame and low self esteem
DWX is not a 2011... If the idea is to get a 2011 so he can train with a gun similar to what he's seeing in his classes. Also, no optic cut, which means DWX is junk
