Did it Deliver? - Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth - 6 Months On 

i love RGG but they went too hard on basing the content of this game off of reddit memes about the series being "goofy and random"

Surprisingly yes! It did made me feel invested in everyone in the game's story.

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is basically "more is less, and less is more" situation, just because game is giving so much things to do with hundreds side activities and mini games to dwell into, it can hurt the story and pacing. It's kinda problem with many other mondern open-world games, which give us BIG worlds to explore, but little effort is put in story. I still enjoy Yakuza games, but I kinda appriciate more earlier titles for them little worlds which also had so many things to do and stories to explore for smaller scale.

Loved Y8's gameplay, HATED Y8's story Forgettable main villain, convoluted plot where no progress is made and it sidelines its main protagonist. This game would be a 10/10, but it's a 9/10.. THAT'S how good the gameplay is. If this game played like Y7 i'd give it a 4 because man the story did not do it for me.

Great overview Dan. I really need to continue the series where I left it off. I was really enjoying the dance off segments of Yakuza 5 and I left it when I was playing as Haruka (so I'd done half of it roughly) but the bonkers humour and great side stuff really makes the games shine even beyond their excellent drama and combat. Can't wait to get to the latest 3!

I love the game but the only thing that was weak was the 2 endgame villains

It’s a great game with a middling story. Not bad but could have been a lot better if it wasn’t so repetitive and a bit more ambitious.

For it was Infinite Fun. But i really think Kiryu should have died once and for all. Just died already. But this is PEAK YAKUZING mah brother, 10/10.

I'm honestly burnt out on these games and after 10 hours of Y8 I decided I need a break from them. Didn't help I found Gaidens laser focused narrative and gameplay to be such a breath of fresh air that didn't outstay its welcome then going back to the long windedness of the mainline games hard to swallow.
