In the sacred scriptures there are "4 new years" for different things. Rosh HaShana or the month of Tishri goes from the beginning of the Word, until chapter 12, then when leaving Egypt it is counted from Aviv, because of the agricultural festivals. The month of Tishri is used to count sabbatical years and is the month since the creation of man. The other new years are for tithes, first fruits, etc. In other words, don't worry Rosh HaShana is biblical.

Bc Rosh Hashanah starts on the evening of Sept 15 and ends Sept 17th evening.
